You HAVE TO read his autobiography!! You won’t put it down until you’ve breezed thru it. As a guitarist, Felder is so tasteful in the notes he plays and chooses - very few like that
Folks from Florida in the 60's may remember "The Mirage". We were in St. Petersburg, and opened for The Allman Bro's, and Frigid Pink, and Smith, and The Archie's, and pretty much any other " Name" band at the time. We won and lost "Battles of the Band's". What GREAT memories!
Don Felder is the coolest guy. I love his playing and he seems like a very decent and humble guy. I really enjoyed his story about owning a Simca especially when I Googled the car and saw what it was all about.
battle of the bands. great refrence im from that era lost a few myself. but not to the likes of the allmond brothers. great interview Mr Felder seems very down to earth .
One of the most beautiful, sensitive guitar solos ever... Is on the Eagles Hell Freezes Over Live video. Don Felder playing middle and outro solo on, I can't tell you why. It is just one of those unforgettable great guitar moments. He doesn't play fast, he doesn't throw in any gunslinging acrobatics. He just plays that solo so incredibly beautiful. I think it can be found here on youtube. I can't tell you why, Eagles live .Hell freezes over. It is that particular show. He wears a big western cotton shirt. That's the one.
After watching the “History of the Eagles” movie, Glenn made Don out to be a malcontent and the narrative that Don thought the group to be a democracy. It was clearly Glenn’s band and it rubbed some of the members the “wrong way” because it was “ MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY with Glenn. I think Don was right for fighting for credit on Hotel California. Don was part of that stressful enterprise called “The Eagles”.
Doesn't matter if that guy still drove a Simca,,, still one of the coolest guitar players on the planet, He can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned!!

Don‘s way of talking is as melodic as his playing.
Whats with the scarfe?
I noticed jimmy page from Led Zeppelin wears it as well. I guess it’s a trend they do.
This Uncle Joe cat reminds me of maybe a crusty uncle you may have that kinda just lurks around and makes perverted comments.
T'ain't cool playing to the evil controllers of the world
