One of my absolute favourite and largely overlooked PS3 games was Binary Domain. I have such fond memories and sometimes I feel like I was the only person who played it.
Same here I bought it when it first came out played for like 10 minutes thinking it was crap maybe a year later I played it out of boredom and finished it and couldn't believe how great that game was still holds up to this day that and spec ops the line
Fantastic game one of my faves
It's a shame MadWorld died with Max Anarchy/Anarchy Reigns. Both games deserved more than what they got and it was like a Sin City version of No More Heroes. Max Anarchy even had great multiplayer but it died so fast.

It's a fun, dumb action game inspired by DMC and God of War, might be worth a look in case it would be considered a hidden gem, all in all great work here man, I didn't know about El Chavo Kart which looks super fun, Rise of the Argonauts looks like a good time for some Mythological Mass Effect RPG Mayhem, I honestly love these videos on hidden gems, cause there's always a few you never hear about till someone mentions them.
I always keeping an eye on this channel looking for a good game to play since i still have my ps3, psp and ps vita. Great content, always love it.

I tried Anarchy Reigns because I loved its precursor, MADWORLD on the Wii. It just didn't hit quite the same way for me, and didn't feel quite as nice. If you found you enjoyed Anarchy Reigns, give MADWORLD a try.
The meat of Anarchy Reigns was in the bots multiplayer. Not the story mode. They have it hidden in the training/simulation mode. If you haven't tried that, give it another shot. It is miles ahead of the story.
I remembered loving the hell out of Dragon's Crown simply because of how much it reminded me of Guardian Heroes on the Sega Saturn.
Great video dude, my back compat PS3 is my baby (still going strong)! Been a fan of the channel a while and I love your style of videos. I dunno if you take suggestions but a video on 'Surprisingly good Licensed Video Games' (not one specific console, but out of all) would be decent. Cheers!

the store actually isnt closed yet. sony postponed its closure, but you have to put funds on your balance thru the ps website and cant use a credit card on the store anymore.
As a Mexican, two things:
1) I didn't know El Chavo del Ocho had a game
2) I never would have imagined a British person to cover such an obscure title

I always thought that El Chavo game was some sort of mod, not an actual legit game. You always learn something new with TVGS.
Battle fantasia is underrated indeed. I enjoyed the game so much but it just never took off. Keep up the amazing work man!

I hadn't ever seen The Guided Fate Paradox. I was immediately reminded of a Disgaea game...and then a Prinny shows up. It's set in the same universe.
I suspect I never heard of it because it was released 2 weeks before the PS4. There's also a sequel for the PS3 called The Awakened Fate Ultimatum which was released in 2014.
Here's another fact about that game, Nippon Ichi Software ( the developers ) actually made a game before it on PSP called Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman, which is connected in gameplay ( and story, in a roundabout way )... that game ( PSP ) has been re-released for the Switch.
As for the sequel... the game looks surprisingly different than the previous titles ( when you're in the dungeons ), I played both but couldn't really get into Ultimatum... there was just something different about it that I can't really explain? Definitely would need to look into it before you buy it. I only played the second one because my friend gave it to me after getting a bunch of games at a yard sale, and it was the only one without a case! I still didn't keep it even though I got it for free.
I like the list but unsure how I feel about listing digital only games.

Hard Corps Uprising REALLY needs a physical release on any system. It very likely to be lost forever within the next year or two.
it's still playable on Xbox through backwards compatibility
@@newageBoundhippie I thought the 360 store was closing soon? IIRC, the purchase of Hard Corps is locked to the PS3 and 360 stores. I think It’ll still work but new players won’t be able to purchase.
@@Sleepysnorlax1 anything backwards compatible is available through the Xbox One & Series stores too. You might have to search for the specific titles but they should be there

Man, I knew about El Chavo, but I didn't expect the stages to be that hardcore and demanding, considering it's a game designed around a cartoon.
I have played Record of Agarest War. Also bought the Switch port. It's a good game.
This comes at a perfect timing. I just dusted off my white slim and replaced the storage media to a bigger one.
Uprising seriously needs a rerelease, the soundtrack itself is justification enough.
Anarchy reigns is also a good game that deserves another chance.
Dragon's crown is one game i pray to god it gets a modern re-release, its an AMAZING game.
at least with Hard Corps Uprising, it's backwards compatible on Xbox One & Series X/S so it's still pretty accessible to some degree

Nice video. I'm trying to find a video which showcases some really easy games that you can play with very young kids who have no experience with video games as a way to get them into them. But I can't find any such video, I hope someone makes one! The best games for young kids who can barely hold controllers in my experience are fighting games, because you just need to press buttons in them, and you can teach the kids some simple moves too which they like when they pull of. Like I'm playing games with a 3 and 5 year old at the moment and the game that worked best was Tekken 6. It's not really the most appropriate game for young children, but it works. I've taught the 5 year old Minecraft (playing on peaceful), but that took like 12 hours at least, and it's still hard for her to just move around in it what with how you have to use two analog sticks at once to manouvre around in 3 dimensions. I would like to find some more easy games that aren't fighting games.
You're better off buying the Switch version of Record of Agarest War, since it's uncensored now.

You know this video is off to a strong start when Hard Corps Uprising is up first. Great list of hidden gems on the PS3, and I’m now looking into Rise of the Argonauts, as that looks quite fun! Awesome video as always man!

Unless you really want it on PS3, Rise of the Argonauts is 9€ on Steam. And if you have a 2015+ cpu, you don't even need to worry about gpu because the integrated gpu of the cpu is enough to run the game.
@@marcelinoalmeida9679 Good to know! I do prefer getting it on PS3 since I like having a physical copy of the game, and is going for the same price roughly. I will still consider the Steam version though!

Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2 made their debut on PlayStation 3, but since have been ported to PC.
My recommendation is to play the PC or PS4 ports of the first two Cold Steel games, as they have additional voice lines compared to the PS3 version.
Or Switch I guess?

and seeing that Mario Kart style racing game made me hope to see Skylanders Superchargers Racing mentioned in a hidden gems video on Wii and/or 3DS games ( seriously, aside from needing the actual toys it's one of the best Mario Kart type racing games I've ever played )

Ps3 hands down had the last best gaming lineups. The ps4 got Flooded with useless indi games.

All PS3s can play PS1 games, early models can play PS1 PS2 and PS3 games. And correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the PS2 the first backwards compatible console ever?

Always good to see Hard Corps Uprising get some recognition. Actually one of the best entries in the Contra series, and has an amazing soundtrack by Daisuke Ishiwatani. Runs perfectly on RPCS3 (even on an outdated system like mine), so Contra fans should definitely check this one out.

It simply came out too soon. It's a game that relied on its online multiplayer component and the online was... well, really really bad. But if you did manage to get a game going with friends and good connections, it was amazing fun!!
A remaster with overhauled netplay could do surprisingly well today

Anarchy Reign is one of the few games I keep my xbox 360 for... El Chavo Kart is like a mix of Mario Kart and the Speed Racer game... And Dragon's Crown is just GREAT...

Try to get the Slim versions because the fat ones don't last long. Just don't expect any spare PS3 controllers for cheap. Luckily, the PS4 (and maybe PS5) controllers seem to work for them.

Puppeteer is the most overlooked and prisoned game on PS3.

I have 1 PS3 OG, 2 Slim and 2 with the slider. Over 150 Ps3 games and still collecting. Love the Ps3 and still a great console.

Battle Fantasia has a remaster available on Steam, released back in 2015 according to Steam.
Dragons crown isnt reallyba hidden gem. Was praised heavy for its art and gameplay style

"El chavo del 8" Is a Mexican live action sit-com from the 70's. The cartoon show is like a secuel/spin-off. Almost every Mexican in the nation has watched it
el chavo is algo huge here in brazil, a cultural phenomenon for many decades and still being watched to this day.

The cartoon is more of a remake, as it remade a lot of the old episodes (the old live action constantly had remakes of popular stories too)
