  • Let's paint our panther in tritonal German camo. Tamiya paints are perfect for this and I am sure that many of you are curious how their colors look on the model.
There is also shown the easy way to make handpainted markings on zimmerit.
It will be the easiest if you watch this episode and find out if it's a good solution. Enjoy!

I really like and prefer this method of painting. Freehand camo painting and hand painted numbers are more realistic in my opinion. The fact that they're not perfect adds so much more realism. Excellent job!

“You can also drink something.. nice.” Your commentary never fails to make me laugh at some point. Today it was at the 6:30 mark. I also liked the brown camo “mistake” on the side of the turret. I think it ties together nicely with the hand-painted numbering. Another great video, Lukasz!

The only time markings were even close to perfect would be just as it left the factory. A vehicle that has been in the field has been painted multiple times. Almost always by hand. If a crew was innovative and had the time, they might make some crude stencils. But, most often; they didn't have the time. On top of that, the Germans delivered the paint unmixed. It was up to the crew to dilute it with what ever they had at hand. Late in the war, it was often water; or they simply left it just primed. Very realistic look you achieved.

Recently came across your youtube channel and was surprised and pleased with your approach to the hobby. Thank you for a refreshing and realistic outlook.
I wanted to know where you got the information on these bridges hanging on the sides of the Panther G. Please, if you will, enlighten myself (and others) as to source of this information and, as I have a limited intellect where it comes to languages (or for that matter, limited intellect), please if you could, sources in english, and, thank you again for the realistic approach.

I have information about bridges from the owner of the PanzerArt company who is the producer of this add-on. Its source is Bundesarchive. The drawings that I have seen but unfortunately cannot show, clearly show that this was the use of the mysterious grips visible on some vehicles. For more information, see the Panzerart facebook page. :)

    Fantastic work! Very convincing. 👍👍👍👍
From what I've observed in period photographs, no camo pattern, unit ID marks and numbering was not perfect and was occasionally, hastily applied in the field by the crews. I've seen photographs where the number on the turret was changed and the older faded numbers were showing underneath. Have also seen this on some Allied tanks and vehicles as well.

  • @russouk
    @russouk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Totally agree withy you 100% crews usually painted camos themselves usually with a brush, theres reports from surviving crews who even painted them with a broom and even mops, even heard a Panther commander who said paint was even splashed on right out of a bucket or whatever they got to mix paint they had or even found.. so the camos were not identical ,perfect or precise on ANY tank in German army..

    Hej!
Unikasz kalkomanii a łatwiej by było namalować ;)
