It can't be a coincidence that not only does Knull's name mean "fucking", but that the message "Knull Is Coming" was written in white goo.

Extremely minor nitpick that means nothing: "knull" doesn't actually mean fucking, it just means "fuck". But it's not used as like a curse word, there are other swedish words for that, it's only used to refer to sex.
Just like the word fuck it's also informal. The formal swedish word for sex would either be "sex" or "samlag" (tho if you actually say samlag in like any conversation you are not younger than 80)
I have to admit. Donny knew EXACTLY what he was doing from start to finish. While he did make changes to Symbiote lore, he didn’t necessarily flat undo the lore created by other writers. I loved the introduction of Knull and what he brought to the table. And unlike a certain Batman that Laughs, he didn’t overstay his welcome in comics.

The King in Black event was nuts, but my favorite part was the truth of the Enigma Force being this sort of anti-symbiote of light to counter Knull. Just a great reveal that makes so much sense with how the enigma force operated prior to this reveal.
Im sorry? The phrase "fusing mjolnir and the silver surfer's surfboard (which was in the form of a sword) into a Giant battle axe in the shape of the venom logo" is not just the most amazing thing I've seen from a comic book, but a sentence of pure insanity and beauty
Sometimes I worry that my own comic plots will seem silly or over the top. But then, no, plotlines like these exist.
Silly and over the top is what comics were made for.
Silly and over the top works best in superhero comics when done right. The comic medium allows storytelling to be told in the best way possible. It shares the best of both worlds between visual and written media. To tell a story so grand and eccentric but also having the visuals to truly show off these fantastical plots and storylines.

I think Cates and Stegman have been paid for the use of Knull in Venom 3. They tweeted a month ago that they had watched the movie and read the script for it before the movie’s official release, so it seems they have been paid.

I used a Knull deck back when I played Marvel Snap, so I can't be too harsh on the guy. And I like what Al Ewing's been doing with the King in Black concept at the moment.

Knull is really cool character that has such deep roots despite being recently created. It's hard for me to think he's a Venom villain and not a direct Avengers villain.

Great video. I'm a sucker for convoluted story arcs like this one but you made it easy to follow.
I love it when comic writers just go guns blazing with ideas that for some people might seem ridiculous but to kids or other people its just increadibly fun to see these ridiculously over the top things actually happen. Making one of spidermans villians be essentially galactus but stronger and have him fight Spidey's previous villian now turned semi friend Venom, give venom God like powers to combine mjholnir and the silver surfers board into a gigantic axe and go nuts is crazy and I like it

I remember in Amazing Spider-man's "Big Time" arc when it first started, Peter (or one of his Horizon Labs coworkers? It's been a while) briefly mentions symbiotes are weak against fire and sonics bc the void of space doesn't have either of those. I always liked that explanation better than Knull's forge, it feels more real. Honestly Knull really does scream fanfic character since you mentioned it. I respect Cates for making his own stuff canon though, dude lived the dream. I just personally prefer the lack of an explanation. It's a little spookier to me.

I noticed that in the King in Black story, Knull actually tames the Void but doesn't actually use it. Some might say that it was simply a visual change to make Knull more intimidating and also just a show of force, *but I can't help but think there's a reason for it.*

Just watched Venom 3. Now i really want to read the events leading up to the king in black.
I thought knull was a combo or “null” = nothing, inert. And “knell” a type of bell sound at funerals.
Feels like a missed opportunity to not talk about the additional lore Al Ewing added to Knull. Y'know, the stuff around the eventuality, as well as Knull's relation to the Beyonders. Would've been nice to give that book a shoutout.
It's not lore that actually pertains much to Knull, especially since he explicitly wanted nothing to do with the kings in ivory or kings in onyx.
All of that was added to give Eddie more depth. It basically had nothing to do with Knull.

Yesterday Marvel Snap they introduced the Knullified variants. I genuinely thought they were made up for the game, not actually based on the event. Hell i didnt know Knull ever made it to earth, throught he was only exerting his influence from his prison, since he's essentially a cosmic entity in the level of Eternity, Infinity or Death... and if he's not, he should be, considering he's the embodiment of darkness or nothingness. It was explained to me as "everything that exists between celestial bodies, the entirety of the nothingness if soace l, is Knull's domain"

I avoided Knull because he seemed to be the worst of 1990s excess - I was a Venom fan from his beginning but was worn out by the time Planet of the Symbiotes came around. It sounds like it only got more convoluted and universe-threatening, a far cry from someone slightly stronger than New York-saving Spidey.
Lots of characters are like unfortunately. Actually name a big name Superhero from comics, or even outside, and you’ll find some convoluted stuff
