    The component replaced is ESD 4 channel Diode array hence the D2 marking. Just wated to clear out any confusion. The Chip removed from the xbox serves the same purpose.

      Hi and you could of left the old one in, cause the snatched side was not connected only the other side was for the 2 data lines of the usb. Would of worked either way.

      really good job, you are 100% right this component is a ESD & surge protection component and they work all the same way the specs of them are all nearly equal so this component can be replaced with every other component of this type.

    I went through the effort of making a rechargable LED from scrap parts and an existing pill battery powered decorative "lamp", attached it just fine but it ceased working, i thought it drained the battery, so i found an SMD resistor to dim the LED, yoinked it from a board with difficulty(471 i think) and soldered it to the switch, it was too dim, yoinked another one (200 something) and it was ok-ish. But then the lamp ceased woking again. Turns out LED's leg simply wasn't making good contact with the switch.
    All of that was inspired by your masterwork. xD

    The scourge of Lead free solder. If it does not cause microscopic short circuits, it just lets go. (probably also contributing to the plague of failing capacitors due to the high solder temperature and not yielding a bit on cool down to get rid of stress ?) Another youtuber would call that component a "thingy" 🙂.

    Did you really needed to replace the filter? The 2 pins aren't connected to anything anyways.

    • @DumahBrazorf
      @DumahBrazorf ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It wasn't needed. The microusb 3.0 connector is a microusb 2.0 with an extension of additional pins. The broken filter was on the 2.0 side so there are only d+ and d- for the regular usb 2.0 part. The broken part was not connected.

    Definitely better than factory! Looks like the metal frame was barely soldered to the board cause there was no solder at all on the back! Pins weren't much better. That may have prevented the pads from being ripped off. NF Mini Pen is awesome!

      $20 capture cards use hardware compression, usually mjpeg. Proper capture cards return uncompressed video.
      Regardless this is still overpriced, similar products can be had for $100 or so
