    Well Ironhorse... I have picked up a bunch of old/cheap 55 Husqvarna power saws to start learning how to port.
    Ironhorse Yes you are 70% of the reason. I think the rest goes to Bellhopper, Bayou Country, The Walkers and a few other guys.
    I think this will be good thing.
    Thank you for all the videos friend. :)

I've got several saws im in the works on...just got a cs-680 that im gonna do a mild port on for a firewood saw...and am currently in the process of a dolmar 7910 build and a 371 husky dark orange chassis! Thanks again and thoroughly enjoy ALL your videos...no matter what your talking about!

      What? Chainsaws! I was on Oprah Winfrey's channel and she had a link to Iron Horse. He's better than her and Donahue combined! Just saying.

  • @scottmarshall6766
    @scottmarshall6766 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Fixed the high idle/linkage on my big blue G660 when I got her last spring, forgot exactly what I did, but it was just a matter of tweaking the rods, after sitting and figuring out how it all worked, it turned out the rods were just bent incorrectly. I wish I could remember exactly which one I rebent so I could share it, but it's been a year and fair number of hours, and she's still working fine. Still can't get used to "up to kill" being a mostly a husky/Echo guy, Stihls have just never found there way to my collection, no bias there, if I found one reasonable, I'd own it. There's a Poulan and a couple Macs in the list too, a Mini 30 and newer plastic one that needs crank seals which seem unobtainium. Anyway, I'm rambling which is my nature. Just wanted to pass on the linkage tweak thing and say:
    Thanks for all the great videos!

    And there's another thing since you're talkin about if the saw runs perfect before you teardown the carburetor or something I always pressure test mine that way when I put the cylinder on after doing a job I don't have to worry about a leak cuz I'll be damned if I put a cylinder on and I have to tear her down and take it all back apart again just because I had blown out seal I think somebody taught me that a couple years ago Uncle Harvey's you just haven't really mentioned it in like 2 years the little things that we forget..lol good day sir

    Hi Harvey, we use multiple sets of the same scales. I have found that the weight center of an item has to be in the center of the scales plate to get the greatest accuracy. As we all know the center of an item is not always the center of its weight. To speed up the handling of our products, I have put a mark in the center of our scales to make it easier to get every piece in the right place without having to line it up

    I broke my right ankle bucking back in 96. I had a 3 foot fir tree roll uo the back of my leg and I actually broke my ankle when I pulled it out. The log was putting so much pressure on the back my leg my shin was starting to bow. So I reached down grabbed my boot with both hands and yanked and kinda jumped forward at the same time. It came out from but I heard and felt a pop in my ankle and knew right away it was broke. My ankle gas never been the same since.

    Hi Ironhorse, love your videos! Just picked up an old husky 61 with the aluminum chain break handle. Cleaned and rebuilt carb and still can't seem to get it running long enough to dial in settings. She wants to bog something fierce before dying. Could it be something with the metering on that tillotson or any other suggestions ? Thanks.

Do you think the standard clutch will take the extra power or do you have a plan to overcome any issues with the clutch?

    If Riddle is the machine shop company namesake, I bet he cut a O-ring groove in the case separation flange/purchaee/land(?). And if he's as good as i think he is... well, that's enough. I don't want to let no cats out of the bag... (ref.: "Hey Jake, when did you get the new MAICO 490?").

    • @jonbobskunkworks
      @jonbobskunkworks 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not cut an o-ring groove on this one. I’m sealing it with the fit and a very light coat of sealer. The head is inset into the cylinder and works much like a labyrinth style seal. I’m not the California bunch of riddle’s but shook out of the same family tree lol. Thank you for the compliments.

  • @WAVETUBE84

    Hello iH, yeah, I saw Riddles comment... and I had a flashback. I didn't google this either. There was a premier VW machine shop in Orange County, Ca. Called Riddle Machine Company(Or spelled something like that). BIG BOYS! Some of their work is in space. Or it could be a coincidence. I don't know.

    Hi Harvey and Cullen!!😀😀
    I know what you mean about getting one to many dents if you have been a logger for 30 to 40 years.
    You and I wish we could go out and still production cut. But you know as well as me that it's never going to happen. We are still young at heart but old in body!! LOL!!😎😎
    We do well to just cut our own fire wood. But it always feels good to get that saw our hands. Even if it's for only a little while at a time!!
    I have 2 of the G660,s and the first one I got the high idle works just fine. The second one I picked up I'm not sure because I haven't even started it yet and have had it for over 6 months. The guy I bought it from only ran it enough to dull the chain once. So I have a feeling it only has less than 1 tank through it with the way the guy cuts wood.
    The electronic ignition went out on my first one. I just took one from a old 046 and it has ran really good. The carb seems to be just fine on it.
    Take care my friends!!😀😀❤

    Yep, the Dremel brand is pricey. Especially rotary files. Used tap? It's usually the first few teeth that wear...and can be touched up with a dremel stone. Old, totally trashed taps can be ground to a point... and you'll have the hardest center punch on the block!
