One of the best moments with Pederson as a head coach. You will be missed Dougie.
It wasn't his fault man....our teams been plagued with injuries since we eon the SB
@@jeremylevant Exactly plus howie didnt draft good players
This was a great moment but it was time to move on
@@eontheagle3773 Bullshit
He’s looking pretty good with the Jaguars so far
I love how everyone sells the audible. Foles with the acting, the RB who motioned over to take the snap is all acting like "Wtf? Nick why are you changing the play?" With his hands all like "what?". Then takes the snap and executes the best trick play in superbowl history. Shit this was so well done.
Every single person! Alshon practically grabs his defender by the collar and runs out the back of the end zone just to clear the path for foles
what do you mean trick play? the quarter back doesnt have to throw and any player can score a touchdown. he just wasnt picked up by a defender because he wasnt deemed a threat. you need to read Art of War and play some chess junior
@@da45ep Lol Is this guy serious right now?
Yeah Nick pretending to do an audible and talk to his linemen sure wasn't meant to fool anyone. That wasn't a trick at all.
I'll have to get wise with more age to understand how it wasn't a trick play. Thanks man, I hope your day gets better lololol.
@@Sabogey can we get a definition on 'trick'? the whole purpose of a lot of ball sports. Soccer, rugby, tennis, baseball, cricket, is literally to 'trick' your opponents and being able to outscore them. can we get a video maybe of every strikeout ever and go between the catcher giving his signals and the pitcher agreeing or shaking his head and then get a GOAT omg he got tricked video made.
@@Sabogey like literally, they have a playbook to 'trick' the opposition. hahaha sometimes its to 'trick' them into gaining 3 yards and sometimes to trick them into scoring a touchdown. sometimes its to 'trick'' them into complacency which is what happened. the opposition was not into a rhythm of marking their quarterback. this game (and others) is literally on levels youll never be able to understand, and thats ok
Love how Smith 82 was also wide open in the middle, had Foles been covered...!!
Yup Torrey Smith.
Worst decision in sports history getting rid of foles
Mike Varitek nah
I saw that
It's a non QB rolling away from a backside rule. There's no way in hell he could've made that throw. There are some actual NFL QBs who I wouldn't trust throwing that.
I never saw it before, but I just noticed how well Clement sells the "wait what are we doing? what's going on?" when Nick walks up behind Lane
Yeah, its do funny how he's like: wtf is this guy doing
My favorite little detail here: the running back who took the snap. Notice how his arms are resting at his sides, to avoid tipping that he's about to take the snap. If he had them up & primed to catch a snap it would've given things away obviously. If you look in the video he snaps his arms up perfectly as the ball is snapped. Fucking awesome.
That's pretty much standard protocol. From middle school to nfl
Actually he motioned his hands in the manner of implying confusion…. Everyone sold the play phenomenally!
One of the best play calls of all time!
Just want to point out, look how wide open Torrey Smith is too. This play is incredible.
I never realized that until you brought it up. WOW
Reported
Just watched it again
@@nicknam8478 Me too
That's wild, totally busted coverage. Never seen that.
The look on Matt Patricia’s face getting outsmarted 😂
Yeah, we saw that all too frequently in the past season as well.
And then he joined us.
And then we were fucked over
@@thunderzboltz6796 Somehow Howie forgot about his look of complete befuddlement here.
@@edfinkel3398 I love Howie, but god DAMN does he need to hire better coaches (Stoutland and Fangio exceptions of course)
The commentator, Cris Collinsworth’s incredulousness was both totally hilarious in hindsight and totally warranted. This play-call was ballsy!
Yeah, think about it this way. Let's say that play fails (Foles drops it, Pats, realize it, whatever). 15-12 going to half, Pats get the ball and they go on a rampage (as they scored 3 straight TDs). You're playing the entire 2nd half uphill down 19-15 getting the ball for your first possession (if everything stays as it was). It was the play of the game.
My favorite Philly sports moments this and Matt Stairs deep into the night!
The Flyers winning the Stanley Cup in 1974 was pretty damn special too.
@@bunpeishiratori5849 I was too young to know but Gene Hart's call so epically great!
To this day still I get chills when Foles says "KILL KILL" then abruptly gets set... sold it beautifully. Legendary!
Greatest play in Super Bowl history
Malcome Butler's interception.
New England tried it earlier in the game and failed. Talk about insult to injury. Lol!
It was New England's play. They used it in a previous Super Bowl though.
Yeah I think the announcers mentioned as well lol I think the best part about the call is not that they called it but they executed it and also did it on fourth down against the patriots in the super bowl, that takes guts. Ppl love to take away from it because it’s not an original play call but the play is not original just the situation and guts it took is crazy
I hope I’m not the only person who noticed that the patriots for years in the Brady era loved the direct snap to the back as one of their goal line go to deception plays.. but for him to run it in.. not for him to do a reverse toss then throwback to the QB.. love that
Now known for all time as ...
The Philly Special !!!
Not a Philly fan but this is one of my favorite plays in madden😂😂
Pederson has two balls. One is called Jupiter and the other is called Saturn. Philly Dilly!!!
Rick Main lol nice!
He is better than Andy Reid and I loved Andy Reid. Foles is better than McNabb and also AJ Feely.
Better than mcnabb? Are you smoking crack???
@@flightofthebumblebee9529 Big Red been in more Super Bowls
@@leetraviusmckay314this was before reed made his first superbowl
What a call by Doug Peterson? Im pretty sure i heard tricky Nick ask for that play
They don't exactly have that information on the live call.
@Jenny Miller yes its the coach play and call. however tricky nick suggested it at that time and during that situation.. it worked out beautifully i might add.
One of the best days of my life
Philly Special 💚 🦅
I love the Eagles.
Coming back here to cope. What an amazing play!
Philly special, it's so good. Love it!
Sad thing is that New England was THAT close to doing the exact play the drive before.
Wrong it was a different play good try though
This play holds a special place in my heart.
Nearly 3 Years Later:
Nick Foles is the Back-up at the Bears and Doug Pederson is released by the Eagles
But this Play will always have a Place in the History of the NFL! 👍
Foles is probably done but Pederson just led an incredible comeback in the wildcard
This was a giant middle finger to the entire Patriots organization, and as a Philly fan, it felt really good...and just as sweet now.
Beautiful Play And The Fact That it Took Down The Cheatriots Made it Even BETTER.
Giffond Hall not on that day
@Giffond Hall Cowboys fan aren't ya?
@Giffond Hall Cowboys suck.
@@tannerjordan3754 yeah it did lol they lost
@@tannerjordan3754actually, it did help. Philadelphia went on to win this game and their first-ever Super Bowl title.
This is the second time the Eagles and Patriots have met in the Super Bowl, each team winning once.
Funny how Collinsworth was comparing the insanity of going for it to the on-side kick vs the Colts back in 06… both those super bowls were won off a gutsy call early in the game.
That was a helluva fucking play man!! That game was special to see my hometown squad finally win it all ❤️❤️❤️
I was happy for Philadelphia when you guys won. I'll be even happier if my Bengals ever win.
Little did we know it was all nick foles who wanted that play
as a lifelong eagles fan, this was the greatest missed-penalty of all time. in the confusion the refs didn't realize we only had 6 guys on the Line of Scrimmage, and i thank god every day for it
Rewatching this after the saints game to make myself feel better
Foles officially retiring an Eagle 🫡🦅
Collinsworth going "....Oh?" as he realizes some weird shit is happening always gets me
Let's go, Eagles.
Announcer: "this is an unbelievable call"
Also announcer: "what a great call" 🤦
"n0w hErEs a gUy" 😂😂
Normally, Cris Collinsworth's hyperbole is so suffocatingly obnoxious, but he ended up being totally right. The game was decided by a touchdown and this play is remembered as one of the all-time greats
There are so many variations on "throw the ball to the guy no one is keying on." Like there's a reason the QB caught the touchdown pass, & Parcells was fond of declaring linemen eligible. This was a really good one though. It looked a little like Triple-Y Banana.
First time I ever saw this play ran was a college game in 2010 Boise State vs. Louisiana Tech.
BIG FACTS
I wasn't able to enjoy this game at all I was so nervous
One of the best play calls of all time - by Nick Foles
As a eagles fan the phlly phlly is my fav play
Greatest play in Eagles history!!!...GO EAGLES!!!
Lack of excitement on the call on one of the best plays ever.
E A G L E S EAGLES!!!! 🦅🏆🏈
Foles sold it w/ the hesitation.
You want Philly Philly
Philly Special
The absolute mad lads: they did it.
Don't get too excited Al Michaels. you should listen to the video where the international announcers they were all excited
Still watching in 2022
Love how the camera immediately pans to the Pats defense coach. 😂
If Trey Burton had two footballs, he could have scored two touchdowns. One to Foles. The second to Smith. They were both wide open.
Came here as Jason Kelce is giving his retirement speech. To show my wife why his emotions are so strong.
Easily the best trick play in the Super Bowl history.
Who’s here after it was used but incomplete vs 49ers?
The Best !
chills
They had Torrey Smith wide open also.
This will go down as the on-field moment the Pats dynasty ended........
Fly EAGLES fly❤️❤️❤️❤️
You mean the Nick Foles special. His call! Don’t forget it!!
Whos here after Eagles win agaisnts niners? Superbowl 57 here we come boys
I watched this play when the Eagles radio announcer did not mention Trey Burton's name. Maybe he wasn't looking at a TV monitor, Al does a better job, as usual.
As an eagles fan, today this play is like gospel 😂
Best play call in superbowl history
Imagine if Foles dropped that 😭
Would’ve been the biggest waste of a gamble in NFL history
They should of got rid of Carlson wentz not nick foles
Once it's done no ones falling for it again lol
Praying for eagles doing today
Props to Kelce to snapping a dime
Collinsworth’s “this could decide the game” is kinda one of the dumbest and laziest calls in SB history, yet the Eagles did end up winning, so I guess it’s kinda prophetic?
Nick foles called it lol. Coach ok'ed it. But it was Foles idea
Look how relax those DBs got when Foles came up to audible
Foles called the play
Best part is New England tried it earlier and failed lol
Pats would have won had the genius Belichick played Malcolm Butler. Belichick, nine years as a HC w/o Brady at QB: One playoff win.
My brother is a diehard Pats fan, and I'm a lifelong Eagles fan, and our reactions, while in premise could not have been more opposite, sounded the EXACT same when this happened
So brilliant.
I wanna know how do u not watch the qb on this play when the pat’s literally did the same play earlier
Great play coach you beat the cheaters
They should have gotten an Academy award for that 👏
Now watch it again but keep your eyes on Kelce he just cleared out the pats entire front 7
👀👀
Oh yeah Matty P was the defense coordinator then, no wonder it worked so well 😂
Wonder where that football is today? Did Foles keep it?
2 guys were open
Just nasty 🥵
Jake elliot is best kicker in eagles history
YOU WANT PHILLY PHILLY?
Who won the Super Bowl?
Eagles won that one.
82 was also wide open ...the pats got lost on that play..
Woooooow....sucker punched !!!!!
Patriots caught out in 6s and 7s....one way and then the other.....where's the ball carrier ????
I’ve always thought out a alternate scenario in my head where he somehow drops this pass. Then they somehow lose and it’s looked at as one of the most moronic moves to pass to a QB. How so many things change with just one simple catch…
Jesus Christ loves everybody❤
Yas! 🌈🌈🌈🌈
So easy!
Terrible play call for one of the best plays of all time.
Rams failed this play "even with Al Michaels on the call"
Bill Burr brought me here
The chiefs failing it brought me here
"Unbelievable call"
2022: we're 4th & goal at the 2 yard line so analytics state we go for this 90% of the time
There are six men on the line of scrimmage this is fully an illegal play
