Hey Kay, you remind me of a slightly younger version of me (I am 51) and my glasses were coke bottles before I had my lenses replaced with implanted intraocular lenses. Also, I feel stupid because you taught me something about my Magnilink S Premium 2. I did not know I could use the arrow keys to zoom. I mainly use the control panel or the on screen controls. I guess I should stop being lazy and learn all the keyboard commands. This device has been a life changer for me (thank you commission for the blind). I wish it was around back in my college days. It would have made things a little easier. Today I run my own business and my magnilink is always here on my desk helping me read mail, books, financial documents etc. I can actually see fairly good especially after some recent surgeries, but I still do not see well enough to drive. By the way, The Commission For The Blind paid for most of my business costs - something for you to keep in mind after you graduate from college, if you have not done so yet.
I’m glad you enjoy it! I had the old version in 2nd grade up to 6th grade. I don’t like it so I stopped using it up until now in 9th grade. I just got the new version (S premium 2). I’m skeptical of it but I’ll use it for school now and see what I think after awhile. I have 20/200 visón.
Good luck, I hope it works for you! I had the old one from 4th through 12th grade and hated it because it broke all the time and it was big and bulky, but the new one is way more compact, and I haven't had any issues with it not working in the year that I've had it so far.
