Definitely Cork!! My Father was born and raised in Prosperity Square Cork City and when I was 10 we moved from New York to Ballincollig, Cork till I was 18 "UP CORK!!"
Im from Spain and I was looking for some information about the city, this video makes an impact on me and impulse me to accelerate the process of moving to live there. Thank you so much for that, really good video sir!
Absolutely agree, no 2 places are the same each place is uniquely different and has its own attractions. I genuinely can't say I've been to a county and thought oh I won't go back there. I love our island ❤️
I lived in Cork City and Dublin decades ago - before either were fancified. And even back then, Cork impressed the heck out of me. Loved it! If it weren't for the twists and turns of life and the needs of the present, I'd live there now if I could!
@@donstravelsandrants. I haven't been there since 1976 and I STILL miss it. What amazed me even back then was the hustle and bustle of the city. It seemed like a really big city with nice architecture and something for everyone -even back then. Dublin, which actually IS a big city, certainly was no better and, to me, felt impersonal. I just could not feel the kind of connection with Dublin that I felt with Cork. I know why Corkonians are so proud of their city. Thank you for the great video!
Cool. I'm amateur compared to your videos. 🤣 I'm trying to get better at making video content, but it's not as easy as it looks. Looking forward to your next video. They are great.👍😊
Hello, thank you for sharing your video! Happy memories of hot soup, tea and of course KIT KAT chocolate bars. I have not had soda bread in a very long time. I do not eat bread anymore! Maybe occasionally but rarely now. Stay blessed.
West Cork definitely has a bit more attraction than the city, but we do have an amazing city ro be fair kind of offer a bit of everything depending on what you looking. But I would absolutely recommend visiting towns like clonakilty, kinsale crosshaven etc beautiful places with great people and plenty to do and see. You won't be disappointed. After cork I'd recommend kerry absolutely beauty county breath taking scenery and just has a real attraction to the place. My favourite place to visit no matter what time of the year. 😁
hey don loving the vids mate, iv got an idea for a few vid shoots, oldest pubs in ireland would be cool friend, for me and people stateside and us welsh...
Dropped down to Cork from Dungarvan when I lived there in 2006 - nice town... I think it's a bit like Dublin ☘️ Like my Vancouver 🇨🇦to Seattle Washington...sister cities :-)). Thx Don 🙋
I will have a video of Dungarvan up soon. If everything goes well with this pandemic, my intentions is to visit Vancouver sometime next year. It's on my bucket list.👍😊
Thanks for the video. Always considering new places to go, but the more I see the more I realise that York in England is probably the most stunning city i've ever been to. I'll have to try Cork, but I've hear Schull is the best town. Cork reminds me of Leeds for some reason. There's definately similarities.
Thank you, nice video! I am trying to decide whether to spend the day in Cobh (our cruise port) or venture to Cork, or take an excursion to Kinsale. Any advice from anyone is appreciated!
Hello Astramom. You could stay in Cobh, it's beautiful. You could also go to Cork City by train, the station is right beside the cruise terminal. Hope you have a great time, or maybe I'm to late with my reply.👍😊
I'm SO GREATFUL for you 2. Thanks so much. When I figure how to send pics,,I'll send one of my wife and my headstone. Her side has dreamcatcher. She was part Cherokee,,,mine has a Gamecock rooster LMAO 😂.
A lot of new developments happening over the next 10 years to change the city into a more habitable place to live and work. Its going in the right direction for once.
Hello Don great video, ive never been to Ireland, im from near Newcastle in the north east of england and can fly direct to Cork would you recommend it for a weekend?. thankyou.
You should come in the summer and try and catch a game of Hurling. Cork play Tipperary on the 6th of May and that should be a good game to go to. Alternatively you could come in June when there's a load of live acts coming to the city(Prodigy, Chemical Brothers etc) Or you could wait till the end of the year when the Jazz festival hits town... it's one of the biggest in Europe and the city gets really lively for it. Even people that aren't into Jazz go along with it just to enjoy the atmosphere. I would also free up another day or 2 to explore the Harbour and West Cork aswell.
@@chrisbarker9852 no problem man, I work on the roads around West Cork too so if you need any recommendations on lesser known spots and restaurants etc just give me a shout.
An ever changing city, took My Thai wife there, first thing she said was " why did your family leave this & go to London" after the trip she said " if we don't retire to Thailand, we're retiring here" , as if we could afford to 😂😂
6.36 - if you have plenty spare thats the shop to try. Exactly what i have been telling my girls in Dublin Stay away from BT or we will be broke soon 🤪
Have the Irish lost their religion ? The tradition was lovely everyone dressed up for mass , men off to the pub after mass and the women getting the dinner ready for the family, the women were always in charge, strong women in Ireland
Nothing wrong with being backwards, Cork's more laid back and less frantic. I like both Cities myself. Every place has its own pace. Galway has a different charm, as has Limerick. It's what you make of it really.
Definitely Cork!! My Father was born and raised in Prosperity Square Cork City and when I was 10 we moved from New York to Ballincollig, Cork till I was 18 "UP CORK!!"

It's got more history, a beach and amazing restaurants.
City Centre and Kinsale for a few hours?

@@lindarobinson4068 : Just too overpopulated and busy like London.
