@2:14 the tall lad with the pink/purple hooded jacket said "bare homeless in Dublin". That's Jamaican patois, which has been taken to London's Caribbean community. Now in Ireland. Ireland is changing.
Corkonian here, lived in Dublin for 5 years but met very few Dubs. Lived on Summer Hill and it is very calm compared to what people say, drug problem is quite bad though.
The drug thing your not wrong My ma almost got Robbed in the village while I was with her Got stopped by a junkie outside of spar Almost Robbed by Romanians
Cards on table, I'm a Cork man born and bred, but I lived in Dublin for a few years, and around O'Connell St/Abbey st and surroundings you do feel very unsafe, not a nice place to be.
I enjoyed that, originally from Dublin. Now living in Australia, I’ve always had respect for Cork people, for several reasons, one being i think they have similar out looks to Dublin people. 😂 They are loyal and have a good sense of humour.
Cokes *much* more of a problem in Dublin. Its not particularly violent though, I mean I've always felt safe when I've had to walk around at night. Like anywhere, Cork included, there's some places you just don't go.
Gear? Cokes *much* more of a problem in Dublin. Its not particularly violent though, I mean I've always felt safe when I've had to walk around at night. Like anywhere, Cork included, there's some places you just don't go.
To be honest, as a Dub, from the northside, i have mixed emotions towards my own county, in one way I absolutely hate it, i hate the little gurriers in tracksuits everywhere rubbing shoulders with nice tourists from the US or Spain... and junkies, its not on at all... The ghastly modern architecture, and general lack of intelligence. I also hate the materialism of it, every prick pulling up outside the shopping centre in his white bmw. And every second girl you see just caked in makeup, then you go to somewhere like Donegal and i think “oh yeah, this is what real women look like”. I have always liked the country people and had some very nice country teachers in school, and have ties to many counties myself. Have cousins in Cork and I’m going to say it now, i prefer Cork, i love their accents, and i like the vibe in Cork, and love all the other towns there, I’m from Dublin, like being a Dubliner, but don’t feel at home here, its not the city of James Joyce or the Dubliners anymore...
As someone from Belfast I never knew each counties from the republic didn’t like each other I grew up thinking all catholic’s were together well I don’t know about the republic but everybody well every catholic up north either just doesn’t like or absolutely hates the Protestants n basically the whole of England so we all basically love each other and see us as one Edit:when I said catholic’s I don’t mean like the Scottish or Italians I mean just catholic’s from Ireland or as yous and the prods say Northern Ireland because there’s a lot of prods up here mostly at the east of Belfast I don’t know about down at the republic if there’s a lot of prods about but up here its just about where you live or where you’re at
The Republic is the same everywhere...Some people are nice and some are very arrogant, rude, and aggressive towards their own. Everyone else, particularly Americans, always get the royal treatment. Kind of sad really. Crime and poverty is the same, out of control, everywhere.
The Dubs think they're a huge city because they have a couple of Luas lines that spend more time crashing into buses and pedestrians than running smoothly. Cork is more compact but we have everything we want and need within a close distance. Friendlier people, plenty of great pubs and restaurants and great colleges like CIT and UCC and the brand new Pairc Ui Chaoimh stadium. Cork is a city on the rise. Dublin is a city that's severely overheated with a huge drug and crime problem and the homelessness in Dublin is scary. Having a Luas line and a few more big buildings doesn't make you a better city lads.
Dubs don't think Dublin is a huge city, quite the opposite actually. It's promoted as a very walkable city because of its size. The Luas is a great service though. It runs on-time 99% of the time and is quick. It's one of the countries best transport successes. Friendlier People? That's subjective, there's sound ppl/aresholes in both cities. Cork ppl seem to have a chip on their shoulder. Trinity and UCD are ranked higher than UCC and CIT in global university rankings. Croke Park and the Aviva are bigger and more impressive than paric ui chaoimh. The restaurant scene in Dublin is actually punching up in regard to variety and quality. The city is over heated because of the job market. It's the financial, economic, technological, medical, construction, media, telecommunication centre of the country. The drug, homeless and crime problem is obviously going to be bigger in Dublin, that's what u get when u compare a city with a large town. Nothing attracts me ever to want to live in cork over Dublin and I think most ppl in the country feel the same.
@@irishtruther1013 it's true, the rent is scandalous, but there's more higher paying jobs in Dublin that makes up for it in a small way (Still way over priced). If u want city amenities you'll have to pay more. I don't think cork has even a 50m long swimming pool. You get what u pay for. Plus the rent in cork city is overpriced also.
