    Anytime anyone is Showing you something and they say "all's I'm gonna do is". You had better be paying attention.

    Not that you had to but explain the use of the revolver.. biner pulley on the Alpine butterfly...I assume the alpine butterfly is for the rescue lowerable system but Ive never seen a revolver used..Thinking that's just what you had to make sure the knot wouldn't pull out but someone might try and use that a a lowering system...love the videos and the epic beard is gone..

      agree.. is the revolver used for rescue...be nice to hear why .

      It is for rescues. You can run a dry system through the revolver and safely lower the climber to the ground

      @@BartlettArboristSupply thanks .. that would be good.. I struggled with the quick reference to the half hitch actually in terms of how and when it was done and how it helped take the load off the ring .. but all good as others helped clarify it

    thanks again.. I'm just not sure how the half hitch mentioned alleviates the load . and also how it is applied (before wrapping the end around the trunk or afterwards?) .. can anyone explain

      Probably so someone can put an MRS through the pulley for rescue from the ground

    • @griley1474
      @griley1474 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The half hitch is formed first above the terminating end where the ring is. Since it's wrapping around the trunk it creates friction which reduces the load on the ring.

      @@griley1474 now that makes sense .. thanks for that

    Do climbers use a figure 8 with a carabiner around the tree as a basal anchor system

      Some may, but from travels and experience, there are better ways.
