      is it normal for a girl to sing low as E2 and high as A7?

    • @curleddoughnuts6857
      @curleddoughnuts6857 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      By the way I can't sing I downloaded an app to test my vocal range on a bad soar throat I get E2-A7 or B7, on a good day it goes as high as G8, these apps may not be accurate though...

    • @Anjalena
      @Anjalena 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@curleddoughnuts6857 Get a piano app and sing from the middle of the piano down as far as you can go. Just hold a note on the piano and sing that note. Then go down each. Mark the lowest note you can sing without your voice becoming weak and airy. Then, start again from the middle (C4) and sing along as you hit each note on the piano going up as far as you can go. See if it matches what that other app says. =)

    • @meggypeggy9142
      @meggypeggy9142 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely not accurate. There is no way you can sing that high or that low

    I already sing low, but after so many years of harmonizing with my favorite singers who happen to be soprano (and my friends are soprano--like, girly soprano, which is always made me and my voice feel old, lol), I feel like it's time to go back to my natural area and see what I can do with it.

    These are great. I'm a contralto, so low D was always doable for me (I can get sound all the way to A2 but it's rough). More recently I've been getting to low C consistently, but C and even B were noticeably easier for me while doing these exercises.

    • @VerbaVocal
      @VerbaVocal  6 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      No not really. As long as you aren't going in completely cold, first thing in the morning straight out of bed. A gentle warm up could be helpful like day 7 in the singing program.

    Hi Anna and Mark, Anna I love your teaching, I 'm a singer and I've been following you since last year. Twice or three times a week I try to make all the exercises of your weekly singing program and since I'm complying all the exercises from your great videos I can say that I'm singing better. I live in Italy and here there are great professors but I can only afford lessons with a coach once in a week just for an hour, so I tried to find something on You tube and I found you. Anna, you're the best of all. Now, let' s go to work and make these new exercises to strength the lower range, what else can I say to you guys ?, you are such a great team, thank you very much from the bottom of my heart!!

    I'm not exactly sure what my range is but I think it's somewhere between tenor and alto. We're doing the little mermaid for our musical and I'm the pilot(a big, burly, loud guy) but I'm a 17 yo tall female whose low notes are fairly quiet. I'm pretty much able to hit all notes in the song, they're just quiet so I'm hoping this will help me strengthen those notes!
    I'll try to remember to report back in March when we put on the show!!

    You sound so cute; reminds me of whoever did vocals for Rapunzel's mother in tangled. I sing much lower than much of this video but will give a thumbs up because your channel deserves it. I'm sure this video helped a lot of others.
