My God, the fact that you're a Villa fan and getting all emotional at Coventry would be unthinkable 20 odd years ago. Bizarre! Tell you what though, great scenes and having a lot of friends still Coventry I'd love to see them up as Villa v Coventry was always spicy.... and big shout to the loan grey tracksuit Cov fan who decided to take the whole derby end on, got some minerals that lad and if he's not got the backing of Colombian marching powder he wins extra Kahuna points!!! As an MCFC fan i miss the frequent trips that i used to make to both Highfield Road, and the Baseball Ground ..... I never got to see us win at Derby, although I did on a few occasions at Highfield Road.
.. and you still will as both grounds have been bulldozed years ago
Great ground Coventry's have now, definitely worthy of premier League football.
I used to love the away trips to Coventry from Liverpool to support LFC at
Highfield road in the 80s and early 90s.
Remember the FA cup semi final against Coventry in 87 at Hillsboro great game all the best from a Leeds fan, great fans.

Highfield road was a great away fixture. One of my favourites. I once walked from the coach park by the away end, to the cathedral bomb damaged during the war, had a good look around and walk back having a few pints along the way. Great day out.
Plus we Liverpool FC often won by three four or five in those days.😂🍺🍻

Hey I remember (crushing awareness that I sound like an old man btw) when I was your age, I would go see Coventry one week, then the week after, go with mates to Blues, Wolves, Albion. It was £4 to get in at Coventry. I dunno how you afford it mate but good for you.

Yep Brum for me maybe Wolves a bit in the 80s rest of the Midlands clubs you can forget, might no be palatable to some but having gone to football for 50, years Man U dominated the 60s & 70s away support, Leeds & Chelsea dominated the 80s hooligan scene with proper big numbers then you had your West Ham & Spurs, Millwall smaller numbers but there to take on most.

Cov fan here, hopefully can give you some context. Wasn’t there but i’ve seen videos ; derby fans went to a family social club type thing called the cherry tree , and started trying to smash it up by throwing things at it and looking for trouble , so cov fans came out of the pub and the derby fans ran down the road and some of them got quite badly battered
Then during the game both sides were throwing bottles and coins at each other and one cov fan took it upon himself to run into the derby end which obviously increased tensions
And after the game derby fans waited for coventry fans on a hill outside of the stadium despite there being loads of kids and families there and started a scrap
It was definitely 50/50 from each team, Derby fans wrecking that pub but the Cov fans then came out with knives which is seen on videos. Awful from both teams

Yep top vlog when i was young i used to go to games not involving my team. U can learn alot about football that way. Also it was cheap bsck in late 70s and 80s. And as u a neutral wot happends dose not realy matter .

@@darasinnett8492 There is one person who I see who claims to support both Villa and Cov but personally I don’t think he’s really cares about Cov. I first met this guy 2 seasons ago when Cov played Brum in the FA Cup in St Andrew’s and he turned up near the players entrance wearing a Villa scarf believe it or not. That left me gobsmacked, also the steward I was standing next to. Even the players, who he approached for autographs and photos, looked baffled when they saw him. They were put off when he began calling them Oi who are you? I have seen him since at a Cov Building Society Arena earlier in the season. I’m still baffled that he got out of St Andrew’s and the surround areas alive!

In Irish Gaa football/ hurling and in rugby the fan's mix with no trouble !... And I believe its the soccer thing of keeping them apart ( ps I know soccer had trouble with Hooligans before ! ) but they let the hooligans win by separating good honest fans instead of getting the hooligans out. I know it's going to be hard but they should try and have some more normal fans mix in small sections at first and try and build it up over time.
⚽️ I worked with away fans at Coventry for 18 years till a decade back & only worked a few Rugby matches we had at the Richo the fans mixed great celebrated one another scoring & they could drink booze in the stand easier work I can tell you.The segregation stewards at Coventry seemed Switched off to be honest at this one 😂

@@andrewfinch2281 actually from my time living in Erdington I did used to get the telegraph around that area and I've looked online he actually got offered a contract and had openly admitted it but the reason he chose us is for more first team football he ain't going to any big club yet he is a deadly player but he just needs to start being more confident in front of goal before he gets the big boys knocking PUSB.
