Enviolo already makes an automatic transmission for bicycles. It's based on a CVT (continuously variable transmission) rather than Shimano's derailer-based system, and I don't think there's even any AI involved. All it does is adjust the gear ratio so the rider can maintain an even pedaling cadence across varying speeds and gradients.
We'll see how well Shimano's "AI shifter" works, but I expect most serious cyclists will reject it on principle and less-serious ones will avoid it due to high cost.

There should be a bigger focus on machine learning instead of just pretained language models.
On a small consumer scale, I'd say you could make a little robotic arm, with a machine learning to imitate and do tasks like cooking and cleaning or whatever, now that's a product some people might pay 1000 dollars on.
Machine learning to do actual research, like deepminds math algorythm or protein prediction algorythm. Alphafold could have been already a billion dollar product, they have a monopoly on the ability to design proteins basically right now

@@ayoCC well machine learning is happening too, it's just a slower process. Just look at the humanoid robotics industry, where people have been manually training machines to do tasks, via AR headsets. The perfected LLMs are useful for talking to the robots when they arrive, but for now it's getting closer to full voice control for our smart devices and computers.
I'm aware that "humans training robots" isn't as efficient as setting the Ai on a continuous loop to perfect a task, but at the same time I feel it will yield a better product. Example:
      "Hold the baby"
On a loop could end up with more chances of hazards
      Vs
A human training the gentleness required to hold a baby a properly.
The process will take take time.

There is already a way, like how Xiaomi phones do "dangerous" permissions. Instead of simply allowing you to click like the default android, you have to wait 20 seconds on a scary screen that tells you about how dangerous it is and why.
There's also a possibility to install apps in a separate space that doesn't have access to your regular files etc.
There are countless ways to do app installing in a safe way, but this isn't about safety at all. It's just a way to slowly reduce the amount of "improper" apps that google doesn't like, like R*V**ced (you can't use its name on youtube)

For example, maybe you want to make an app an accessibility admin, but then you can tie it to disabling the internet for it completely and moving it to a separate virtualized storage. Regarding the Copilot app, rather than being based off of OpenAI o1, I think it's based off of Inflection AI's Pi model; the same Inflection AI that recently had all of their developers paid by Microsoft to work at Microsoft AI.

I cannot be the only sane person in the world who is sick of AI AI AI AI AI... There has been absolutely zero compelling evidence that AI does anything to improve my computing experience. Quite the contrary, as AI has increased the cost and diminished availability of GPUs/NPUs/APUs from what they were a few years ago.
RECALL??? This is what is finally pushing me off of Windows once again. There is no upside to RECALL for a home user. This is the creepiest thing to hit the computing world since desktop computing began several decades again. Why would anyone want Microsoft screen capturing and uploading everything they do, type, and interact with on their home computer? Not to mention the amount of power consumed by AI to do all of these creepy things...

For CP2 to work, it needs to monitor and record everything you say, everything you type, everything you look at. All of this is uploaded back to MS for analysis. If you want CP, just use the web version, don't install onto your computer. Don't even get me started on why you should avoid Recall.

After 22 years with Windows I know I'm not never going back to it since I finally feel like it's my computer again rather than somebody else's who just let's me use it on their terms.

Establish an authority and a registry like the CA cert for HTTPS for apps download. Display appropriate warnings and/or clear indications of apps published without this and how dangerous it could be to install unknown apps. This takes effort and should be rewarded but I'm sure Google would be glad to be the one doing it. Warnings must stay. But Epic have a little case if they started verifying apps put on their Store as well and take responsibility for those.

Hopefully one day artists that are filling lawsuits complain how machine learning is "stealing" thei rart realize they need to grow up too instead of blaming technology for doing things more efficiently. Horseshoe makers were mostly replaced when cars were invented. Portrat artists were mostly replaced with the invention of camera. C'est la vie.
