- A more in-depth look at the filter on this plugin, and setting it up to use on a mix to get closer to that King Tubby Sound. I mean, isn't that what we all want??? Give thanks to Audio Thing and Alborosie for collaborating to bring us this plugin.
Amazing, thank you for this in-depth video!
Very kind words from the creator, give thanks. All of your plugins that I own come with their own vibe, and this one has it galore! Thanks for releasing the Dub Station, having these 3 sections in one plugin is awesome. I do some dubs through hardware, but when it's for other people I like to keep it in the box as they sometimes want little changes and I don't want to have to remember that and try to make all the same moves as the last mix as it's all very 'in the moment' when I dub. The Alborosie Dub Station will make my life easier and I can stop using my previous work around, which wasn't bad, but this is better and easier!
@@JahServant I remember your melda work around ..👌🏽
Yes, that works, this is another flavour again. The chef likes new ingredients from time to time...
Yeah, cos I'll never know from experience, because this will not accept the license code.
Contact AudioThing, I’m sure he’ll help you out.
Thanks for going more in-depth with this. Very helpful.
No problem. The filter needed a proper run through to show how to get that sound. A lot of people may not be happy with their results if they just insert it and go. Running in parallel is the key to the sweet filter sound. Thanks for taking in the video.
Another excellent presentation and demonstration of the Plug-in... Trev
Thanks Trevor, it deserved a proper pass...keep good!
Sounds fantastic!
I played with the demo and wasn’t very impressed by it. After watching your demo Im going to give it another listen.
The way you set it up makes a difference, running in parallel is key to that sound. Make use of the impedance knob as well, find where it tunes the sound closest to how you want.
@@JahServant I was just using it inline instead of as a send. I have a LOT of different delays and play with the feedback a lot.I need to really set this up a bunch of ways to tests it. Thanks!
Yes, I think that’s why they made it so we can disable any section. When I use the filter then the echo and reverb are off.
Great Video as always Jah Servant. PEOPLE - SUB to this channel!!!
Very cool helpful and interesting video. I'm not into dub and basically love Dubstation for its cool sound design options and being up snares and other instruments. But being open to all kinds of genre and different approaches, for me this is just a great video. And why not integrate a sub effect within an experimental track. Some 70th LCD inspired bands did that all the time in various ways. Cheers
Thanks. This can definitely be used in other music genres, it's just very closely associated to dub/reggae. It's a great plugin for sure!
I bought it but can't seem to figure out how to download it onto my m1 Mac
Nice demo JS, thanks for taking the time. Could one use the wet dry mix of the plug-in as an insert to get the same result as running it in parallel?
I believe that mix control is for the echo section only, not the whole plugin.
@@JahServant Hmmm, Reaper allows me to adjust the wet/dry independently for any plugin I insert. I just assumed all DAW's would allow that.
Nope.
great demo! what controller are you using to change frequency?
Thanks. I’m using a knob on my mixer, Allen & Heath Zed R16.
Im having problem with loudness on fx channel. How to fix that. And filter sound is very low volume. Thanx
Not sure if I can help. Maybe make sure the delay and reverb are turned off and the send level into the filter is at 0, that should send the full signal into the filter. Check that the filter out is at 0 and it should work. I don’t know what else to say, not being able to actually see it in use.
Nice!
What did you use to create the drum loop? Are those one shots, or a plugin? Anyways, great video!
All the drums are from the Westfinga Rubadrum, except for the snare, I used my own multi-sampled snare.
What bass are you using?
Fender Mustang PJ.
@@JahServant sounds great. DI into your mixer? Amp? thanks!
Preamp out from a Fender Rumble 100, I also use a Tech 21 RBI. There’s not a big difference in tone between them when you set up for a reggae sound.
@@JahServant thanks so much!
Seems to have been discontinued on their site.
Didn’t know that. Maybe some licensing issue with Alborosie??? Dials does some nice filtering as well, if you’re looking for that.
Sounds fake like Alborosie himself. Accurate…
