    I bought a Roland GA212 to use w/a GR55. I also bought the foot pedal for it. The amp has 2 FX loops & 4 channels.It sounds so good I use it for everything @ home. Coupled w/the PXL-PRO I have unlimited options & thanks to you it almost all makes sense. Thanks again for you vidoes.-JB

    This has not kept up with my growing needs. I have 12 efx boxes. I do NOT own a switcher/programmable device. I'd like one, but allowing for more than 8 loops. After weeding out a few self noisy ones I have about 12 left. Only 6 of my effects have midi. Only six are stereo. The joyo is not the solution for me. If I use some of these in series with the Joyo I am unable to midi control my "external" devices.

    Let me share my experience with triggers and switching of A/B channels on Joyo D-Seed. I solved issue with reverse polarity after turn off/on of PXL PRO (saved set up in banks completely reversed). At the first you need to set a correct D-Seed polarity (effect is on). Once you turn on whole pedal board your PXL is in bypass mode and D-Seed A/B switcher is on - you need manually turn off A/B switcher. Then hit any bank (A-D) and your saved set up is "YES" available...hope that helps you guys !!!

I leaned a lot today watching your tutorials, in fact I want to keep watching more because I am learning fast and not just learning, I mean understanding the concept for every single function. Hi Stratoca, I cannot answer to your post for some reason...
    I don't know how the DD20 works, but if you use the triggers to switch bank UP and Down, then it will be hard to switch to a specific bank since the PXL is sending a trigger signal every time you switch to a specific preset... I don't think you can use that to just to a concrete bank on the DD20.

    • @stratoca
      @stratoca 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is that got anything to do with the polarity? I'm quit new to this thing and haven't understood the 4 different trigger functions...

    • @EytschPi42
      @EytschPi42  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      stratoca it shouldn't have anything to do with the polarity... play around with it and see if that changes anything.

      Can you switch your Mark V25 channels and add pedal effects with the PXL looper? Like for example, going from your clean V 25 channel + a chorus, to your distorted V 25 Channel + a delay? All that in just one foot step?

    • @Cocolia3
      @Cocolia3 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@leonemesis87 yes, you just have to use one of the trigger switches of the pxl pro to change the amp channel and the loop you want to add the effect. I suggest using an insert cable to be able to switch back and forth the Mark V25. It a TRS cable splitting into 2 mono TS.

    Hi EyschPi42, thanks for your informative videos. Have been watching this product on the market for some time and ordered one after watching THIS video which convinced me that this is the pedal switcher for me. Received it last week shipped to Singapore and I am more confident in programming PXL-Pro after watching your video. Got it up and running easily following your instructions. For second loop (since I only have entry level amp), I used the MOEN Buffalo pedal amp simulator with DI which activated the 2nd loop. (I believe a JOYO American/British/ Vox sound pedal should also do the trick.. I will try soon). Many thanks and keep on pumping out those videos ! Love your studio and guitars !

Like it's in bi-pass. Just amp sound. I can program it fine, choose pedals, etc. But the pedals have zero effect. SO to verify it's not a pedal or cable issue, I switched 2 pedals using same cables, one from LO over to HI, with one that was in HI. Now the pedal that was in LO does not work. But pedal that was in HI works fine. I'm not using effects loop. So all 8 are in line.

    I've got a question. I own a bugera trirec and a PXL pro. I want the triggers to change the amp channel. I have the triggers set to normally off and momentary. Channel A turns trigger 1 on en Channel B turns trigger 2 on. But when I switch from A to B, trigger 1 is also sending a pulse. When on channel B and I switch to channel A also trigger 2 is sending a pulse. So the joyo is sending 2 signals and the amp won't switch channels. I've discoverd this using a multimeter. Is this a normal thing to do for the joyo? Maybe can you test your own joyo with a multimeter to check this out. I don't know if I have to get a new one or not.

    Have you heard of or experienced any issues using these Joyo loopers with MXR pedals? One guy on Amazon is claiming that the buffered bypass on the Joyo unit does not work well with MXR pedals.

    i have a query about this, i play 2 full stacks n i send some fx to both some to each, so what i was thinkn was using the pro in dual 4 mode, but say ex loop 4 send from group 1 into loop 2 return and send the loop outs to each stack, so if i want somthin to go to both i turn 4 on and it sends to both stacks... do you think thatll work?

    Absolutely Enjoy all your video's. First and Foremost great job on explaining the PLX 8 Pro. I'm a more hands-on learning type of person and between this video and a notepad and a pen, I feel very confident I can set this board up with no issues at all. I actually watch your video's because you get to the point rather than "TALK" too much. So I have no idea what others are saying about that topic. All I know is you have helped me tremendously and it does not go unappreciated, so THANK YOU. I'm playing through a custom 68 Fender Twin (Silverface). Using it as a clean amp I will run all effects before the amp. I plan on using the PXL 8 as a dual 4loop. With L1-L4 (loops1-4) dirty channels then Loop1 OUT to Volume Pedal then return to loop2 IN, through H1-H4, then loop2 OUT to A/B switcher to my 2-channel 68 custom Fender twin. I will Also be utilizing triggers 1&2 to turn on/off the reverb/tremolo built into the 68 custom. "Viola" the mystical & magical insert cable you spoke off (Thanks so much that really helped a lot). You made it so simple. Dirty Channel (L1-L4) consist of; WamplerTumnus Mini (using as clean boost), Wampler Tumnus Deluxe, Wampler Paisley Drive Deluxe which consist of The Under Dog, and the Paisley Drive. Modulation Channel (H1-H4) consist of; Phase 90, Corona Chorus, Vortex Flanger, Flashback Delay. Coming out of my Audio Technica wireless StompBox are the pedals before the switcher, Wampler Ego Mini Compressor, Wample Db+ W/Buffer, Tube Screamer Mini, Nano Big Muff. Then to Input on the PLX 8. Let me know what you think.

    thanks for the vid. I need help. I have a two channel amp and a 4 channel preamp unit that has midi switching. Currently i run this into my amp's parallel return and use an A/B switch to switch between them and then either the amp's channel switch pedal or the preamp unit's switch pedal. then pedals. will this do all of that?

    Eytsch, I have a burning question that I can't figure out and I Ned your help. I have a Peavey 3120 head with a 7pin foots witch cable. I can't find any adapters to use to connect my amps channels to the plx8 pro. Do you know if someone makes an adapter or what I could do to make it work? Thanks for all the informative videos.

      @EytschPi42  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrRich6505 Hi, yo'll have to find out how the 7 pin footswitch is wired, Peavey might help with that, and then create a breakout cable that splits the 7 pin DIN cable into 4 mono 1/4 inch... I mam sure there are many electricians or amp repair guys who can build this.

    • @EytschPi42
      @EytschPi42  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      it can go in front of the looper (volume will effect your drives and therefore the gain) or behind, where it just does volume... you could even put it in a loop to turn it on and off...

    I just stumbled upon this. Excellent tutorial - thank you! In my personal quest for rig problem solving I throw this question/scenario to you:
    I play a 2 amp live setup. I understand the concept of effects in front and effects in the loop. I would like to integrate a Rocktron Intellipitch into my effects rig, primarily using the pitch-shifting effects. I would loop this into the effects loop of the amps, splitting left and right to each amp, using with the other clean effects.
    The switcher questions I have are these:
    Are these two loops in series or are they parallel with each other?
    If I put the Rocktron in the loop, would you recommend using it like your Carl Martin reverb, or split it to, for example, L5 and L6?

      How about connecting input-1 and input-2 of the amp (talking about fender twin) to the send & return of a loop on the PXL? I guess it may work, the only drawback is we would sacrifice a loop channel for each amp.

      I've got a marshall vs100, the footswitch on the back of the amp is connected with a 1/4 inch cable. I've never owned a footswitch for it but from what I've seen it tends to be either a 2 or 3 button footswitch for clean / overdrive1&2 or clean / overdrive 1&2 / reverb

    I'm an happy possessor of an EVH 5150 iii 50watt and the footswtich for that particular amp has four switch on it channel 1 , 2 , 3, and effects loop on/off. In the video you showed some footswtich but were all with two switches. In my case can i recall with different settings all of the four switches or at least three of them leaving the loop always on ?
    thank you ;)

      Vichingo Folk The PRO can switch 4 different functions.... but doesn't the 50 Watt EVH also have a MIDI input? IN that case you could use the PXL Live and just switch it with MIDI !

      I also have the EVH 5150 iii. My question is similar. I have the pxl pro.. If i want to just switch between channel 1 and chanel 3.. and leave the effects loop permanently engaged. How many cables do I need plugged into the trigger outputs?

    • @Tlaptopmac2

      The evh has one single 1/4 inch cable between the footswitch input and the evh footswitch

    Hi EytschPi! I have a 2 channel amp, clean/dirty. No reverb or anything else. It has a stereo 1/4 foot switch input. Will I need an insert cable or just a trs to mono cable?

    • @EytschPi42
      @EytschPi42  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mono cable works, but you will only have one of the switching functions and which one... I don't know.... insert cable gives you more options and you have access to both switches....

      I'm not sure if you can answer this question but I have a Jet City JCA100HDM and the effects loop runs at line level, or +4dbu where as stomp pedals usually are instrument level -10 would something like this convert that signal properly so I can use stomp pedals in the loop instead of rack fx?

    • @henningpauly8806
      @henningpauly8806 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      no, it wouldn't convert the levels, but I would just use stomp boxes in the loop anyway... a student of mine has that amp and it works fine...

    Hey man great vids!… very helpful, (sorry my english, i speak spanish) i have a question cause i need help. i have 2 pedals that have 2 switch (exotic fx BB preamp plus…. Vox Satchurator) just like the Jetter Gold, and i really LOVE the sound i get with these two pedals, but the question is, can i control the 4 switches with the PXL Pro? cause both of those pedals have only 1 output, or i need to be slave to switch to the B sound of those pedals anytime i need them? or just the way you use it? both channels active all the time? can this be done? control 4 channels separately?

    • @EytschPi42
      @EytschPi42  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      no, you cannot control all four channels... you'll operate the pedals as usual, but you activate or reactive the loop they are in... once the loop is active, you pick how you want to use your pedal... or switch it before the song.... you can only activate the loop, but not do anything on the pedal!

    Hello, and sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have a EHX ring thing (with 9 presets) and I was wondering if the PXL Pro would allow me to store different presents of the EHX RT into different presets of the looper ? More generally, how does the PXL Pro handle multi-presets pedals ? Thanks in advance for your answer...

    • @tobl2738
      @tobl2738 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +alev guran not Henning but I can try to answer your question. Normally the looper doesn't do anything to your pedals; it just decides when to run the signal through it and when to bypass it depending on the preset. The trigger outputs however can send an ON/OFF signal to anything that is connected. They can switch the channel on your amp or, if you pedal supports it, trigger a behaviour in your pedal. The PXL doesn't know your pedal, it can only provide ON/OFF signals. To know if you can remote control your pedal with it, you should look up the behavior of external switches in you pedal's manual.

    Joyo pxl pro pops - homemade pedalboard

    • @EytschPi42
      @EytschPi42  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, the popping has more to do with the pedals that are in the loops then the looper... the looper does not generate the pop... none of mine do... but if you use a pedal that pops... I have several of those... the loop will also pop when engaged.

  • @chatter7653

    Awesome and highly entertaining video! Had me cracking up lol....I just got one of these and am about to set it up and had a general question about the loop sections 1 and 2...Am I right in assuming that there are ONLY two ways of effectively dividing up your pedals , if you have an amp with an FX loop...1. all 8 into either the front of the amp OR all 8 into the FX loop or 2. 4 into the front of the amp and 4 into the FX loop? In other words , if you have , say , 5 pedals that would be better off in front of the amp and only 3 that would be better off in the FX loop you are basically SOL? :) ...It has to be 4 into one, 4 into the other?

    • @EytschPi42
      @EytschPi42  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you are correct... this is how most Loopers work. With the MOEN Loopers you have a bit more flexibility when it comes to routing, but they are limiting in other ways... each company has their own philosophy... You could have two pedals share a loop if your really need five in front and the manually switch between those two that are in the same loop, I have done that quite a bit...

    also can you use the trigger outputs to select a completely different amplifier all together, so in essence use the same board on 2 separate amps without having to manually unplug one amp and plug in the other?

    • @EytschPi42
      @EytschPi42  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nicholas Anhalt Hey Nicholas... you are misunderstanding what the trigger outs do. They are not audio outputs... they are SWITCH outputs... if your amp has a footswitch input, you can connect it to the trigger out and then switch your amp remotely from the PXL and include it into a program with a different pedal combination. It is not an audio out. Check out my video for the Carl Martin Octaswitch, I used the loop outs as different outputs to go to separate amps... you might be able to do the same with the PXL, but you're losing a loop for each amp out you want to have...
