@@flippy66 Yes, but that only applies to professionals, for the normals, a quite expensive bike is not necessary; I have seen many people that have bought an expensive bike, only to survive to a simple dusty road, nothing more.
@@JustMeNoOther I'd say 75% of riders I've seen with expensive bikes ride simple fire roads. 15% ride try to ride .ore challenging trails but got no skill, and 10% actually can ride and display good skill.
Just had my bars loosen on me on a dh Rocky chute this past weekend. First time it seems in forever I had no multitool. It was fun but sketchy to keep 1 hand clamping(ish) the stem. I was happy to have made it to the truck but I'm sure Sam would have flipped it...
Sam, could you do a 'how to' video on magicking things? So far, I've broken two MTB hopper ramps trying, and I still don't think I got it right on the third attempt - the jump didn't go well and I needed surgery to get a PilGrip out of my colon.
Im pretty sure i have one of these things from like 15 years ago that is branded a Quest Crestwood... I'll have to go dust the thing off to be sure i didn't mess that up. I doubt it was ever ridden even 5 miles.

Enjoyed the vid. The old school 26r bikes were great. I just had a halo rear wheel built up for my old school 26r by the local shop. Still love my 26r. 853 steel frame, they are strong, look out for one for a future free bike. Yeah, the main danger is the front of the frame snapping with the much slacker front end, keep an eye on it, as ali snaps suddenly. if you can get braces welded to the front. Want to see more of this bike!
7:20 - Isopropyl alcohol works just as good as oil or WD-40 or whatever for removing grips like that, and it won't leave oily residue on your handlebars or on your grips that you have to then clean off. It also works for installing tight grips. They will slide on slick as a smelt when wet with alcohol, and then after a few minutes the alcohol dries and the grips won't budge.
I have my rocky mountain that i ride quite hard but is also my daily bike. but i Have an old ass specialized with no suspension at all, friction brakes... your videos are giving me the need to repair it and ride it
