One thing about Slash, he was one of those incredible guitarists that established a signature sound that is unmistakenly his. For anyone who knows guitar it is utterly impossible not to recognize his sound. Just like you will always recognize Page, Hendrix, Rhoads, Angus, Dimebag, etc. You just know it the instant you hear it.
I've seen this song performed several times with Mr. Mercury singing vocals. And I've seen it performed with several other good leads and I have concluded that as long as we have May, Deacon and Taylor together, this is still a great tribute to Freddie. You can't ruin a great song. It was written by May as were several of Queen's biggest hits. I was surprised to know that.
At 0:15 the band kicks in and all hell breaks loose in the crowd. This was the first show I ever seen with that many people all jumping at the same time. When I seen this when MTV showed it in the early 90`s it blew me away the power they still harnessed. This clip was the power highlight of the show. Queen took the stage and showed the world once again how to rock.
In some parts of this video, even some of the best man-made sound system and amplifiers couldn't match the noise of thousands of people that sing along from the bottom of their hearts, out of a memory of a truly beloved and admired artist. Nothing could. I got goosebumps. Wish I was there.
They all sang a lot of harmonies with Freddy, all had voices, it's just that Freddie's was...well, just amazing and powerful and huge. I look at the backup singers and Joe Elliot doing a credible job, but then Freddie carried the vocals for the entire band all by himself. I think it really underscores his true talent.
great when slash hugs brian may and prolongs the hug because he is whispering in his ear. wonder what he says-whatever it is brian is impressed. what a platinum performance by all...it doesn't get any better than this!
This will get the party started!!! Wicked song since I first heard it!!! Yeah man, was under 10yrs old.. always stuck with me, and when mum and me danced to this I had so much fun, so therefore a great memory...x GOD BLESS!!x
The Universe has waited a long time to take the form of these tw guitar gods playing together. that was EPIC! I love how Slash's cigy is still fine after all that headbanging
Queen, Mott the Hoople and T-Rex were Joe's biggest influences. He did a great job with this performance. This was when Guns and Leppard were the two biggest bands in the world. 20 + years later we have Justin and Gaga. Glad I am old and on my way out.
Its like a who's who of the rock world on one stage for one night singing some bloody mega songs with a crowd going nuts, pretty much doesn't get to look any better than this!
I love the way Mr. Brian play the guitar he is as my grandpaa... he has some charisma while playing the guitar and the way he stand holding the guitar and his moves is absolutely phenominal... love you Mr. BRIAN...😘😘😘
I love the way John Deacon walks around the stage. Like he's having some walk in the park or smth. and the guy simply doesn't care about all those crazy guitarists, crowd.... John Deacon is an AMAZING person and the most underestimated musician. Hope he is doing good.
I play it all the time but that is on my rock show on a local radio station in South Wales....your right, the bigger boys seem to more or less ignore it and it s a top song for anyone who likes a bit of kick ass, bounce along rock music.
great group of musicians... my favorite (from childhood) is Joe Elliot, Love that mans voice and Slash's playing... sounds like a good band to come! :)
My father was there. He told me he could distinguish from his position Bryan May to Slash just to the fact that Slash was without skirt. LOL! Great job and concert anyway!
Songs are best suited for different occasions... this one is MADE for live performances! Nothing gets the crowd going like Tie Your Mother Down!!!!!! I'd sell my soul to be in that crowd!!! Oops, correction - if I'd sell it, it'll have to be for Wembley 1986 ;)
Condor Cmj seguro son dos de los mejores. pero hay alguno que otro mas.....ejemplos: David Guilmour, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Paige, Santana y seguro me olvido alguno
I ahve saw Jimmy Pge play live 6 times since 1990 or so and he is most certainly not sloppy and careless. He is fantasic when hes healthy , and he is now healthy. What makes a 'best guitarist ' to you anyway ? A guy who plays cleanly or a guy who creates with a guitar ? I prefer the latter
@nivmaoz yeah, true. i'm really happy that people like slash, metallica and a few others go on with doing new stuff and making concerts. but i always have to wait really long to see them. there was a time when they had their greatest moments and i couldn't see it , because i wasn't born.
First minute or so is great; basically the Queen lads doing their thing. Gotta love it, even if Freddie wasn't there. You can keep the rest of the video though. No idea what Brian and Roger were doing when they were picking guests.
wooooow!great, brian may and slash, they're great, they r unbroken!!!!!!!!!great,2 awesome guitarist playn' with each-other,by the way slash looks amazing,so hottttt!
,,This must be heaven for everyone''
Slash and May on one stage.

Holy shit, anyone who thinks Queen wasn't one of the all-time great live bands needs to listen to this. The energy level is UNBELIEVABLE.

Two big guitar heroes!
SLASH and BRIAN MAY... Just amazing!
I love it how the crowd goes crazy, it was all for Freddie and because of his and Queen music.
One and only, King Mercury.
At 0:15 the band kicks in and all hell breaks loose in the crowd. This was the first show I ever seen with that many people all jumping at the same time. I'm smiling every time I watch this! It just makes me so happy :D

Brian's a great singer in his own right.
Great performance by everyone.
This will get the party started!!! Wicked song since I first heard it!!! Yeah man, was under 10yrs old.. always stuck with me, and when mum and me danced to this I had so much fun, so therefore a great memory...x GOD BLESS!!x
AWESOME, JOE still does it for me . R.I.P. Freddy I'm sure he's still queen of ALL up there too.
The Universe has waited a long time to take the form of these tw guitar gods playing together. that was EPIC!
I love how Slash's cigy is still fine after all that headbanging
history would be incomplete without this concert.
Queen, Joe Elliot and Slash on the same stage , Fuck Yeah
Queen, Mott the Hoople and T-Rex were Joe's biggest influences. He did a great job with this performance. This was when Guns and Leppard were the two biggest bands in the world. 20 + years later we have Justin and Gaga. Glad I am old and on my way out.
