My buddy actually made interior wood handles to replace the vinyl and plastic ones that usually break then you use them to lull the door closed, they look beautiful, just an idea.
That's been on my list to do for years now but my current ones keep holding up haha

This is absolutely awesome
Looks great, I have a 92 rclb 1/2ton. Had to replace floors and a cab brace. I coated my floor with POR15 when finished top and bottom. Then rubberized under coating top and bottom. Sound deadener along with new door seals helped a lot. I would imagine crew cab is an even bigger before and after difference interior noise
Yeah, it's hard to quiet a crew cab haha

Love the seats and center console. What year and model of the seats/center console. I'm also very interested in the seat bracket measurements. I'm assuming it will work in my regular cab 1991 w350. Great channel straight to the point, and your ability to teach, and motivate. Great job, mahalo!

I just restored the interior on my 66’ Eldorado and my comments are Dynomat is a great sound deadened. Wwen cutting holes in the carpet, I use a pointy solder Gun which makes nice clean edges in the carpet and avoids pulling threads if you drill. 91.5 cummins interior is next. Keep up the great work and content.
That's a perfect idea for cutting holes in the carpet. I'll try to remember that for next time!

Any suggestions for carpeting a 1956 IH Firetruck cab? No stress being a dodge channel. I am installing the cab on a 2008 ram 3500 chassis. And, after watching your channel, I have a “built” 5.9 12 valve (VE pump) thanks to The Hungry Diesel. And, a “ built” 6-speed manual tranny! Gonna be a beast once done!
How exactly did you interchange the durango seat buckle? Did you have to cut and re-stitch the seat belt strap?

Some of the lmc stuff is good and some not so much. It's somewhat hit or miss.
Going with weathertech or some rubber for the floor since it's a work truck. Nice redo.

Would you use the deadener and the foam if you were doing a headliner? I know the crew cabs didnt have headliners, but I just pulled mine out of my club cab and was thinking of using the deadener under it as well. I have been looking for a saddle blanker seat cover for months that wasn't flimsy.
Yes, i will be putting a headliner in the og crew soon and I'll be putting the sound deadener and foam up there as well.
If you don't mind, can I ask where you tapped into the key on wiring to power your seats?
For right now i ran it straight off the battery until I set up my external fuse block. I like it on constant power so if I need to move the seat when I'm working on stuff i can without turning the key on

No one makes them that i know of. You have to find a used one for sale.
Another great video Tim! You will really like the difference it makes in the cab with all the sound deadening and mass backed carpet! Will probably however really notice all the wind noise coming in around the triangle side windows, find a cure for that please! Great choice on the rear seat cover, my cousin manufactures that material here in NC. Can't wait to see your choice on the shifter boot.
I drove the truck a few miles and it's noticeaby quieter. It's just so much more comfortable than it was too.

Interior came out looking great. How is the sound deaden in the cab with that cummins?
So far it's much quieter. I've only driven it for a few miles and now I'm out of town. When i get back home I'll definitely put more miles on it give an update.

@@DuddiesAdventure check out soundeadenershowdown com for how different products work. Not all products are the same. Like Tim said, really only need to cover about a 1/4 of a metal panel with sound deadening tiles to stop the tin can sound. However, I covered my entire floor to help prevent any water from getting to the floor pans since the butylene material is also used for water sealant. Hydrophobic Melamine foam is great, but expensive. Mass loaded vinyl is also a great product for certain areas. I covered about 1/4 of the inner and outer skins of my doors with 80mil Knoknoise. Entire roof covered with the same 80mil then covered entire roof with hydrophobic Melamine foam before installing the headliner. 100mil Knoknoise on the entire floor covered by all the original mass loaded vinyl and original mass backed carpet before covering it with new mass backed carpet. I'm very satisfied with the results. The products and applications are endless, inside, outside and in between. Do some research and ask yourself what is your overall goals, then decide how much time and money you are willing to spend.
FYI, Downloaded a decibel meter to my phone and at idle the cummins has a reading of 70 db compared to a 2011 F350 Lariat automatic deleted straight pipe at idle reading 64 db. Cummins averaged 74 db going thru all the manual gears and running at 70mph and had top db reading of 78 db which occured running in first gear. The ford averaged 69 db and topped out at 73 db under the same conditions.
This is of course is after sound deadening the cummins 93 doors, floor and roof. Back wall is still factory along with the extended cab walls.
Compared my db readings to Tyler Oven's sound deadening build, keep in mind use of different type db meters. Tyler's truck at idle after sound deadening was 67 db and at 60mph had a reading of 76.5 db.
In conclusion, there are several differences between mine and Tyler's sound deadening projects, material used and areas covered.

Both my trucks have the kdp done. I did the one on the silver crew and the one on the prospector was done when I bought it. What questions do you have about it?

@@AD-ht3jl yes, that is probably more important than the actual kdp on the VE trucks.
@@decentgarage Ok Thanks. I'm about to do the job and put an aluminium radiator on. Too bad there isn't a way to see if its done without taking the case off. I took off my oil filler and looked with my scope but no luck.

I've only put a few miles on it so far but it is definitely much quieter.

They don't make crew cab headliners but I have something in the works.
