@@ttvance9206 At IM Lake Placid this year, at the end of passing out slots to Nice for the women the announcer asked if anyone who just finished the race wanted a slot for Nice with no takers and many slots left over. This year will be my 30th time competing in Kona and it will not be the same without the women there. Over 40 years of history discarded to sell an additional 2500 'world championship' slots by having two separate races.
Another sport sells out to the Emirates! Why would anyone want to do a triathlon in that climate? Why not have it where it’s actually attractive for us to go as fans, athletes, spectators whatever…
So? Everyone buys their products, no one complains about having oil and gas readily available? Just think of it as giving the world back the money they pump in. Selective outrage.
James, if we're talking about Robert Karaś (the double fuelled guy), I think it’s worth mentioning Adrian Kostera, Karaś's biggest Polish opponent and, let's say, 'hater'. This year, Kostera set a Guinness World Record for the longest triathlon completed in one year: Swim: 1,205 km over 67 days (18 km per day) Bike: 31,132 km over 155 days (200 km per day) Run: 7,833 km over 143 days (55 km per day) That's a total of 40,170 km in 365 days! During this time, anyone could join him for the running or cycling parts. Just couple of days ago, he was winning in the UltraTriathlon Italy (10x Ironman distance), but on the final running lap (about 1 km before finish line), he disqualified himself (DNF) in protest against the poor event organization by taking off his timing chip.
Blender should focus on winning in Kona. He’s got a gold, a 70.3 championship, and an Ironman championship outside of Kona. Get the one in Kona to remove any question.
James, I disagree, Ironman moved their Ironman FL 70.3 to December to hurt Clash Daytona who also takes place on December. It is not by coincidence to move from April to December.
Blummenfelt's big announcement to compete in Tour de France was nothing but disrespectful to cyclists. What would we say to a basketball player suddenly thinking to be able to win the handball world cup? I can't help myself, I see and hear bad attitude from him in nearly all interviews. Yeah, we wanted to trade the win in Frankfurt with Gold in Paris. Disrespectful to all athletes in Frankfurt again. Dude, if you win only races you don't want to, don't compete. This guy has the sportsmanship of the average pro soccer player, which means none.
Cyclists do too, thinking they can become pro triathletes. Andrew Talansky is the big example in my mind. What goes around comes around. Gwen Jorgensen thinking she can make the Marathon Olympic Team.
Michael Jordan --> Baseball if mentioning Basketball. Maybe it's a case of elite athletes aiming high which is part of what makes them who they are. Think small, achieve little etc...
and there's Taylor Knibb winning TT National Championship ;) But yeah I'm not sure what was KB thinking he can compete with Pogacar or Jonas in the big mountains. Maybe he could do a good result in longer TTs but that's it probably. Also he's way too old.
Are you looking forward to the IRONMAN World Champs?🏊🚴🏃
Can we all agree that both the men and women need to get back to Kona at the same time? This two day, two location thing has got to go.

Yes! It will be excellent viewing during my bike turbo session. 🔥😁
Stoked to have my tri mojo back good to see you guys still making ace vides to fuel our enthusiasm:)
Love the response to the 150 IM attempt, unfortunately these are the types of guys attracted to age group racing too, never a level playing field

There’s already been World Cup races in Dubai… not saying world triathlon didn’t sell out but this is an INTERNATIONAL sport
@@Nathank1010 Dubai hosting events is sports washing and nothing more.
Because sportswashing is strong in Triathlon

I heard the T100 was going to be just bike racing next year and Christian B is planning to win it.

Haha too funny to edit, Blumenfelt.
@@jonathanzappalaI appreciate not editing 😂 I was wondering if it was a hidden nickname
Blender is a great nickname tbf
Blender sums him up perfectly :)
Ironman have form with double booking events over existing, popular local races. One way to stifle competition.
See you at the Laguna Triathlon Phuket, 17th November. 30th Anniversary
I live near Leeds, and I think I may be spending late July in Nottingham next year. Also, and in no way connected, 2500m of elevation!

"Ironman didn't do that on purpose"? Wouldn't be the first time..
Wow. That’ll be one hell of an excuse for DNF’ing….I got bitten by a cheetah!

Winning tdf solo is obviously impossible. You would need an exceptional good team to even have a chance.
I'm glad Patrick Lange got the IM win eventually

Blummenfelt just gave away that yellow jersey. I guess yellow in 2032
