  • It dawned on me that some people don't know the difference between a multimeter and a LCR meter, so I figured it would be a great first look at the UT622A to explain what a LCR meter is and to take the UT622A out for a spin!

    My first time seeing a LCR meter in action, and I am pretty impressed.

    good job, I'm waiting for the review, as I'm taking this meter for an LCR candidate.

    Most excellent LCR video and they do have their place in troubleshooting. 😎 Thanks.

    If your resistance test box shows correct percentages, then the LCR meter is less accurate. For example, on the 100R resistor it shows 0.01%, so the value should not exceed 100.01 Ohms, but the meter shows 100.05. But, granted, the LCR meter probably meets its claimed spec of 0.2 percent accuracy or so.

    Capacitive Reactance, and Inductive Reactance are the terms for AC measurements for capacitors and inductors.

    I almost got this UNI-T but ended up getting the DE-5000 instead after seeing a comparison someone did on youtube.

    Did you null the meter out before doing the measurements ? the lead resistance at the end there was a bit high, wold have given even better resistance readings otherwise.

      I did not, the manual for this thing is huge lol

      Good reminder.
      When I zeroed mine it made a noticeable difference (I assume mostly based on the stray reactance in the leads)

    Very cool tests. I'm sure that review took a while to do. I'm kind of curious if that micro usb outputs anything and does more than just charging. I feel like it might.

    I'd like to see an accuracy comparison between the really cheap LCR meters and yours. I bought a super cheap one off banggood for about 10 bucks and then a slightly nicer one for about 30 bucks. I'd like to see if the accuracy is much poorer on the cheap ones.

    Could you do a side by side comparison of the UT 622a versus the Sanwa LCR 700?

    • @SimpleElectronics

      It uses AC to test, so polarization doesn't matter

    • @arsenicjones9125
      @arsenicjones9125 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stats for the UNI-T 622A
      99.999mF @ 100/120Hz, 9.9999mF @1kHz and 999.99uF @ 10kHz. If you get a C or E model it can do 99.999uF @ 100kHz also. 0pf is the minimum for all frequencies w variable amounts of trailing zeros.

    • @ooltimu
      @ooltimu 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arsenicjones9125 I've seen the specs, but I was curious if someone really pushed it to the limit to see if those are real and accurate
