Superman's viewpoint on the Kryptonite makes sense to me. He gave it to Batman because at the end of the day, he trusts that he will do the right thing and have the tactical ability to actually stop him if necessary. There's no way I'd trust a politician or just any random officer with it, especially if Superman declined to do something they wanted done and they felt threatened or they felt they needed him out of the way to get away with something. Look at the "real" Hank Henshaw and basically his crusade to kill J'onn even though he wasn't a threat.
I don't think Superman doesn't trust J'onn because of himself, i think it because J'onn working for the government. If J'onn working alone like Batman, Superman would trust him like Batman
Yup. He even says something along those lines where he asks what happens if someone else takes over the DEO or if the President gives him a direct order? Considering they've already sent in hardline military types to take over or oversee the DEO, I don't see it being that far fetched a concern.

Honestly, the show being on CBS is what really screwed over the first season. I love this episode. Best episode yet! I'm so excited for the rest of the season. I really loved the relationship and interactions between Kara and Clark. It was everything I hoped for. I'm sold on Tyler as Superman - he was great.

yes Lena was in the comics Jerry Siegel ceated her in 1961. She first appeared in Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane issue 23. And unlike Lex she is good. At least the comic version of her is, that is not to say the writers of Supergirl will necessarily follow the comics 100%. If they need to turn her bad I can see them doing it. Kinda like how they did the twist with Hank Henshaw really being Martin Manhunter instead of Cyborg Superman. My money is still on Dean Cane's character being turned into Cyborg Superman. I see Cadmus putting Henshaw's mind into Alex and Kara's father's body and since Dean played Superman on the Adventures of Lois and Clark tv show. It would be a nice nod to have him play "Superman" Kinda like how on Flash they have the actor from the 90's Flash show (the guy who played Barry's dad) Play Jay Garrick. But that is my prediction that Dean Cane at the end of this season or the beginning of season 3 will be revealed as Cyborg Superman
Superman giving Bruce Wayne Kryptonite is completely different than a government agency like the DEO having a crap tonne of the stuff on hand. He trusts Bruce to do the right thing, not necessarily an anti alien task force. Batman is supposed to be incorruptible.
Since filming for Supergirl moved from Los Angeles to Vancouver after season 1, Calista Flockhart who plays Cat lives in Los Angeles in order to have her be in every episode she would constantly have to fly to Vancouver to film the scenes. So while she is still a lead for season 2 she won't be in every episode this season. also the actress at the end was Brenda Strong who was on Desperate Housewives. She played Mary Alice, a woman who killed herself in the first episode and served as the narrator for the rest of the series.
CW has less budget, but it seems like it forces them to be more creative (like you said, making Supergirl faster ect) and i think that can make it look better.

Especially Clark Kent, from the comics I know the Clark Kent who is a little bit clumbsy and I think that's exactly what you saw Tyler do. I know two Superman actors, which are Henry Cavill and now Tyler Hoechlin. Henry Cavill really did his own spin on it, but with Tyler you really see a lot of the Superman from the comics. Really, really loved his portrayal here. I think the second season is already better than the first one, I was not a big fan of it. But this first episode was really amazing. I enjoyed every minute of it. I hope to see more of Superman, and certainly hope him having his own show, but don't think that will happen.
The reason they're allowed to use Superman now is that Geoff Johns has been given control of the DC Entertainment branch. They used to have a bunch of suits running it who wouldn't let CW use their characters (Atom was supposed to be Blue Beetle), but now they made Geoff Johns their Kevin Feige and he's opening things up for CW and lightening up the movies.

That was the New 52 Superman in the Capsule! JK! I like how they mentioned and linked events and people from the Superman Movie with Christopher Reeves. Miss Testbocker was the female assistant of Lex Luthor in the movie and later on helped superman by removing the Kryptonite necklace that was on Superman while he was drowning in the pool. The event of California was also mentioned by Whin when Lex Luthor caused the earthquake.
I like this Superman more than the one in the recent movie (Bat VS Sup). This guy reminds me of the Superman played by Christopher Reeves and Dean Kanes because he smiles more and is more colorful and down to earth.

I think Superman being iffy about the Kryptonite makes sense. Sure he gave Batman Kryptonite "just in case" but at the same time Batman is his best friend, whereas J'onn seems to have been more of a colleague at that time. Also, I take the whole thing with Superman being a government lackey in The Dark Knight Returns with a grain of salt because it was written by someone who openly hates Superman as a character.
In regards to Eric's comment abt the Kryptonite thing and the Dark Knight Returns. That Superman is suppose to be a government stooge and naive compared to Batman which isn't surprising since it is an elseworld Batman comic. Superman in the canon comics has always been distrustful of the government trying to control him and having ways to kill him. The only one he trusted with that power was Batman which isn't surprising and that was only after they discovered he had plans on the JL to defeat them in Justice League:Babel. Thought this was a really fun episode! Was surprised you guys didn't mention the Clark Kent and Lois Lane phone call!! Like... that happened and it was quick and cute and it worked. And in regards to Superman, i don't think we can go with the "he's a young and more inexperienced" Superman for any problems that may arise with the character. And I say that because he's been Superman since Kara first arrived... what, 10 or so years ago? And he was Superman even BEFORE then. I do wish that when he is Clark though, he acted more clumsy like when he was introduced talking to his boss on the phone. He was a bit too much of a REGULAR guy rather than a nerdy type and such. But overall, this was a great premiere. A bit cheesy at times but, I can deal with it. It's fun.
Giving Bruce Kryptonite and the government having it are two different things. He trust Bruce with it and to do the right thing. With the government you really don't know who could be using it, and who would be calling the shots. With that, I totally understand why Clark doesn't trust them with it.

Sure he gave Batman Kryptonite "just in case" but at the same time Batman is his best friend, whereas J'onn seems to have been more of a colleague at that time. Also, I take the whole thing with Superman being a government lackey in The Dark Knight Returns with a grain of salt because it was written by someone who openly hates Superman as a character.

In regards to Eric's comment abt the Kryptonite thing and the Dark Knight Returns. That Superman is suppose to be a government stooge and naive compared to Batman which isn't surprising since it is an elseworld Batman comic. Superman in the canon comics has always been distrustful of the government trying to control him and having ways to kill him. The only one he trusted with that power was Batman which isn't surprising and that was only after they discovered he had plans on the JL to defeat them in Justice League:Babel. But Supes is suppose to be distrustful because of Gen Lane, Project Cadmus, old Hank Hensaw

Thought this was a really fun episode! Was surprised you guys didn't mention the Clark Kent and Lois Lane phone call!! Like... that happened and it was quick and cute and it worked. And in regards to Superman, i don't think we can go with the "he's a young and more inexperienced" Superman for any problems that may arise with the character. And I say that because he's been Superman since Kara first arrived... what, 10 or so years ago? And he was Superman even BEFORE then. I do wish that when he is Clark though, he acted more clumsy like when he was introduced talking to his boss on the phone. He was a bit too much of a REGULAR guy rather than a nerdy type and such. But overall, this was a great premiere. A bit cheesy at times but, I can deal with it. It's fun.

Giving Bruce Kryptonite and the government having it are two different things. He trust Bruce with it and to do the right thing. With the government you really don't know who could be using it, and who would be calling the shots. With that, I totally understand why Clark doesn't trust them with it.
