These videos always give me a good laugh. Great job. Also, I found your Eve mission tutorial very informative. I'd like to see more content like that as well as these. Keep killing it.
Personally, I am more partial to voice over vids in general and especially for tutorials but I think the music and text on screen for The Odyssey of Bill works really well. I don't know that I'd change that.
Outstanding! I'm assuming someone got a major reprimand for scheduling an outside fundraising event on the KSC runway on the same day it was needed for a mission return.
Jerry Wang most of it is Warping to your next burn. Xenon thrusters need more due to low acceleration. I gotta make twelve damn passes to transfer to Duna Effectively
The fuel gauge only shows fuel remaining/total capacity in the tanks that are connected to the engine and enabled. During the final landing approach, only some of the tanks are being drained, and the gauge only looks at those tanks. On ascent, all 20 of the "Oscar" tanks are being drained, and therefore it shows the accurate fuel remaining.
@@lentencraft You'll cut even more drag with a full sized aero cone on the back of the RAPIER. This requires some clipping though, so that will depend on you sensibilities.

I wanted to give Bill a real crew capsule for interplanetary transfer for humanitarian reasons. P.S. There wouldn't be heating problems with the utility bay.
That was the tutorial that I was going to ask for. I'm a lowly console kerbin player so I don't have access to any of the mods so I guess I better just "get good".
In 18 months of play, I never landed a thing on Tylo yet. Only done flybys and orbits. THe only things I wanted to land on Tylo never had the required D-V to avoid a crash.
I have hard time watching 11 minutes of KSP videos but damn did this one keep my attention. Well done man, awesome stuff. Also depressing, thought I was any good in this game lol
He's explained it multiple times in the comments section but.... "the fuel gauge only shows fuel level on the tanks connected to the engine. Not all the tanks in the build are directly connected. When fuel is transferred manually, the displayed fuel level changes."
That isn't reusable. Requiring re-usability demands single stage from Tylo orbit, to Tylo landing, back to Tylo orbit. This requires a larger lander. As far as I am aware, this is the lightest reusable Tylo lander.
Matthew, the fuel gauge only shows fuel level on the tanks connected to the engine. Not all the tanks in the build are directly connected. When fuel is transferred manually, the displayed fuel level changes.
That was awesome!
Matt Lowne I love when youtubers I'm subscribed to comment on videos of other youtubers I'm subscribed to.

I’ve done it before, but I cheated and used reverse sepratrons and parachutes.
@@BradleyWhistance you can do it with the 3A
Had the exact same reaction lol
That landing at the end... what a show off. :D
Ive spent the last 2 days trying to land the smallest airplane possible on the VAB... and he lands that on the VAB...
GG brother...
Me too. I've crashed over 50 times trying that so far.
I think this is the best one in the series lol. Super satisfying craft and a great landing.

Wow... I actually clapped out loud at the end! That was brilliant!
god I love these. funny story, good music, and KSP. it is like crack
These old videos are amazing! You always had high quality content.
Honestly, when you said there's only one option left i thought of the island runway, not the fucking helipad, GENIUS lateral thinking XD
Will we ever get to see the fashion show?
THIS WAS AWESOME ! YOUNRE AWESOME ! YOU DESERVE SO MUCH MORE RECOGNITION !
Vall is just big cyan Minmus.
You forgot to explain his excuse for not landing on the Abandoned Airfield.
Salamander migration.
lol
And the water?
Giant squid.
And the dessert airfield?
No clue why, but the background soundtrack makes everything you say and Bill does much funnier.

holy fuck! that landing though
I noticed you had a considerable increase in fuel between landing and taking off from tylo
I saw that, but I think It may have been fuel "turned off" in the bottom tanks to prevent the lander from tipping over on Tylo.
The fuel gauge only shows fuel remaining/total capacity in the tanks that are connected to the engine and enabled. During the final landing approach, only some of the tanks are being drained, and the gauge only looks at those tanks. has the little aerodynamic cone at the end of the craft any purpose or does it just look cool
It reduces drag, rather dramatically actually!

the dawn engine having .05 kN of thrust at sea level and an Isp of 100 is a bit of an issue. =0
