Hi, the manual says:Applicable on Deutz Engine 1011/2011 series. If the crankshaft needs to be turned for maintenance work on the engine, always turn It in the direction of engine rotation (1) and never in the opposite direction... in 4:00 min you do it in opposite rotation...???
A Ksivecas Thank you for your notation. The manual's instructions are correct and the crankshaft should be turned in the direction of the engine. This was a mistake made in the filming of the video and will be rectified shortly. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. - The Foley Engines Team
Wow a 1011 belt video. Should have my co-workers check it out. I built a bunch of 1011's for my employer and would add that some guys use the crank locator wrong at times and I have to straighten them out. They end up placing the tool at wrong part of crank, as you probably have seen, thus setting timing wrong. I tell them if the belt broke or stripped teeth, to pull forward most inj nozzle to verify piston at top dead center so the tool can be placed against correct flat on crank. The front piston must be at tdc for the alignment tool to help you.
thanks for the useful info..I think I've made this mistake. I've fully inserted both pins to set timing and installed new belt.I've also replaced bent pushrods, I have fuel at all 3 injectors but the damn machine still wont fire. Please can you confirm that I need to find TDC at cylinder 1 (next to flywheel) by pulling the injector on that cylinder and then observing the cylinder through the injector hole. Please could you guide me through the procedure for removing the injector? Are there any special tools required?
+brian spinks In your case you should verify tdc with removal of the #3 cyl(front of eng) as the ones I deal with are all 4 cyl 1011's with the #1 AND #4 pistons on tdc at same time. Your 3 cyl will be different for sure. The tool still has to rest against the same machined pad on front crank throw. ( meaning, the front piston must be at tdc for the machined pad on crankshaft to be correctly located for tool placement.) Deutz is one of the few, but not only ones, that number the cylinders from flywheel end of engine, to front of engine. Oh well. Sorry about the confusion, I've corrected my earlier post.
Too bad the set belt is a long time not seen. Missed all the procedures the manufacturer. The shooting of the engine to the left instead of the right to no longer mention.
I was going to also ask, when installing the crank alignment pin with the piston at TDC is it normal that you can move the crank back a ways before it hits the pin as well? The cam actually had a hole but it feels like the crank is just resting on the pin is this correct? I’m 110% positive that I was at TDC as I also did the head gasket and turbo replacement. I just want to make sure it’s correct. When I was done both alignment pins when in perfectly. But wanted to verify how the crank one works.
Hello we need help we have a Deutz F3M 2011 engine when it reaches operating temperature on the instrument panel the red oil light comes on and after a while the engine shuts down when we disconnect the cables on the oil sensor. engine running normally, we replaced filters and engine oil. the oil pressure probably drops and the sensor knocks out the fault, and it is possible that the problem is up to the thermostat,
Lots of details left out here. Why do you need to mess with pins if you have not broken the belt and the pulleys are all where they need to be? Also I see you rotating the crank without the belt on which I assume would mean you are going to hit the valves or do you do this only after removing the push rods. If you bent a push rod, I would assume you also bent some valves.
For the person that only needs to do one belt, can the tension tool and locating pins be rented? ps - I noticed your website says to rotate the engine two full revolutions, but the video says one.
As a Deutz technician of 10 years that has replaced hundreds of belts I cringed so hard at this video showing the engine being turned anti clockwise to set the belt tension.
Hi.... I am also deutz mechanic,i worked at the official representative of deutz in Athens.. I completely agree with you.. It needs one gear turn anti clockwise the crank..
I was wondering the same thing (anti clockwise). What about the other thing i noticed: he is not loosening the camshaft pulley to spread the tension evenly: is that ok? What should be the belt tension in metrics? (They only give a value, but what is the unit?)
You guys really need to take this video down. I followed these instructions for preventative maintenance and ended up bending my pushrods because the crank wasn’t seated all the way against the pin when setting time. Thats a key detail that was left out of your video.
.....SMH !!!!....this is the most ill-informed video !!!!....Please remake/update with detailed correct info. as to portray a reason to have respect for such an old company.....Please....Thank You
How did you turn the cam shaft with timing belt removed? Why did you turn crank backwards after installing belt?
Followed this video and failed timing. Talked to Duetz and was told to find TDC before setting crank pin.
Shouldn't the cam shaft be loosened to spread the tension evenly? What should be the tension in force? Thanks

Will someone tell where the "tach-generator" is located on the Deutz 1011 engine. I'm trying to install a tach on my deutz that didn't come with one.

How often do you replace the timing belt on the 2011??
Can you make a video on how to replace the fuel injector slide.
I removed center crankshaft bolt: what timing issues will it cause that yall didnt have time to talk about in video?

Do have to loosen the cam pulley
what kind of tension should the timing belt have?

I have a 1034 engine how do i still injection pumps and injectors
As a Deutz technician of 10 years that has replaced hundreds of belts I cringed so hard at this video showing the engine being turned anti clockwise to set the belt tension.
I wondered the same. I thought, perhaps the video is mirrored/inverted and we dont know.

@@harisvlogiaris2150 you mean clockwise?
@@lioneljosecastillo no it is not mirrored, oil pump is shown bottom left which is correct, he is really turning it anti clockwise
Do you know where can I find for Deutz 2.9 l4 TD 55.4kw a timing belt diagram? I have no idea ....
It could have been pointed out again that the belt has a direction of rotation, for whatever reason.
Quiero saber cómo tomar la altura de piston .tractor DEUTZ 5.80
what about the cam shaft does it have to be align as well?
Sure does.. The camshaft is easy to align though. The timing pin can only go in one way..
Bad idea a rubber belt...
Bent.valves as well.
Or maybe a software database where to look for Deutz Timing belt diagrams
thanks for the response.
