  • Join me on a hour long deep dive on the subject of Egypt’s second biggest pyramid: the massive giant that is the pyramid of Khafre. Despite its size, and its proximity to the Great Pyramid of Giza (with its magnetic field of theories and mysteries), the pyramid of Khafre is often overlooked. At first, to those who like to explore the mysteries of Ancient Egypt, the pyramid of Khafre may seem simplified - disappointing even - but the pyramid is actually just as contradictory and confusing as many others from the long forgotten past.
In this video, we use Keith Hamilton’s Layman’s Guide to the Pyramid of Khafre as a baseline in order to explore the detail of the structure. As always, infinite thanks to Keith for writing such excellent guides - I implore you all to read them if you haven’t. Extra credits go to Charles Rigano, Jon Bodsworth and the Isida Project, who are responsible for most of the on-site pictures you see in this presentation.
I would also like to extend my thanks to Gareth, Richard and Tom for the additional voice work in this episode. It helps break up 1 hour of me droning on about stones and chambers!

Wow I almost feel like this video was made for me lol last year I commented on your previous Khafre pyramid video about how criminally understudied and rarely talked about Khafre’s pyramid is, and now you give me an hour long video on it! Thank you for giving it some much needed and deserved attention. It’s such an amazing monument, it just baffles me how no one ever talks about it on the internet these days. In my opinion, it’s crucial to not forget about this pyramid when discussing the Great Pyramid because of how immense in size it also is. It drives me a little crazy sometimes seeing someone go on for hours about how the GP had to be constructed in some certain way, but they don’t even consider if their theory would make sense for the almost as large pyramid that’s sitting right beside it. Ive always thought that if all these crazy methods and technologies were necessary for the Egyptians to be capable of constructing the GP, then many of the same techniques would also have to have been employed for Khafre’s as well given its similar size and makeup. There are some differences between them, but I can’t fathom that the two structures wouldn’t have had very similar building techniques used in their construction. When people have proposed things like the “power plant theory” that explain every little detail of the GP being required to make it all work, but the Khafre pyramid having none of the same features therefore none of it would work for it, it makes me want to pull my hair out lol. I also have always felt like that there could be a fair chance that there is more to Khafre’s pyramid than we see today. I’ve often wondered if it’s possible that the Egyptians took what they learned from the GP and built an even better and more well hidden chamber inside of Khafre’s pyramid. I think the chances of it are slim, but not zero, but it seems like no one today cares enough about it to even look into the possibility of there being any more to discover inside it. I think there is much more to learn from this pyramid and I hope it gets more attention and appreciation someday. Thank you for another amazing video, I’m halfway through now and thoroughly enjoying it all so far.

Just because there are not voids in it, does not mean that there are no chambers and tunnels that were filled with sand. Great video!

Oh damn an hour long Lines in Sand video? Need to settle in with a drink.
As for the G3b pyramid, Vyse seemed to specifically just follow the path of least resistance, probably to avoid the situation you mentioned with precarious stones. It explains why it twists and turns with random 90 degree bends. Thanks for mentioning that one, it’s my favorite.
I believe the robbers tunnels in both the great and kafres pyramids were new kingdom jobs to renovate and reinter the king. They bypassed the portcullis to leave it as the main deterrent then backfilled and hid the back door access they cut. It seemed to have worked because it took until 800 to find the great pyramid’s and another thousand years to find the one from khafre.
After people have sent me videos inside the well shaft, and seeing some of the huge cracks running through it, I’m fairly certain the voids under Khafre’s pyramid are natural caves. The bedrock seems to be like Swiss cheese, which makes sense considering the proximity to the Nile.
Pieces of bull bones doesn’t sound like a burial to me, it sounds like someone tossed the remainder of their lunch into the coffin. Beef has been a common food in the area from the old kingdom until modern day.

It's interesting that Khafre's pyramid internal layout is much simpler than Khufu's...
I wonder what was the reason, but I'm afraid the answer is simple - it's cost. It could be the same reason why the Khafre's pyramid, in the end, was downsized - it just didn't add up in the ancient excel sheet.
Anyway, bless you for the top notch material. It was a one hour feast to watch.

Who ever made the robbers tunnels surley had found information on them. Maybe there were templates or diagrams of the original builders. Maybe when the 4th dynasty finished and the intermediate times happened after when war swept the land it was then information on the construction was found. Just a thought.

I find it hard to believe that the great pyramid has so much going on inside of it (Kings chamber, Queens chamber, Grand Gallery etc) while the Khafre-Pyramid has only this one chamber mostly underneath the whole pyramid. Do u know if these crazy Myon-Scans or whatever it was on the great pyramid that revealed a possible 2nd Grand Gallery have been performed on the Khafre Pyramid aswell? Is there possibly more? Give us hope!

    • @linesinsand3928

Hello! Yeah it was scanned a very long time ago - I may be wrong but I think it was one of the first pyramids to have a scan of that kind.
ScanPyramids, who found the secret voids in the Great Pyramid have recently rescanned the Khafre pyramid. I believe it was last year when they did it. If you do a quick search for “Khafre pyramid muon scan results” there’s an Ancient Architects video that goes over the results of their scans. Prepare to be disappointed 😞
Many thanks for watching and for commenting!

Such a scientist was Vyacheslav Vsevolodovich Ivanov. Egyptian and Georgian connections are strengthened by the results of his research. Based on the comparative linguistic analysis of the ancient Egyptian and Proto-Georgian languages, he came to the conclusion that the main Egyptian god in Egypt, who was considered foreign in Egypt, came from the Georgian world, namely Thoth and Osiris.

First of all, Ra was the main god.

I asked some friends to read some of the quotes from sources like m&r, Petrie, Vyse etc - it helps break up the video, especially when I’m quoting from sources that are in turn quoted by another author (Hamilton) - it helps to clear it up a bit. They are not intended to be reenactments. Not at all.

"Swiss genomics company iGENEA has launched a Tutankhamen DNA project based on what they say are genetic markers that appeared on a computer screen during a Discovery Channel special on the famous pharaoh's genetic lineage."
The people who did the tests laughed at this ridiculous publicity stunt and said the conclusion is nonsense.
Maybe google a bit more before believing the first thing you read...

    • @celsus7979
      @celsus7979 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

But Carsten Pusch, a geneticist at Germany's University of Tubingen who was part of the team that unraveled Tut's DNA from samples taken from his mummy and mummies of his family members, said that iGENEA's claims are "simply impossible." Pusch and his colleagues published part of their results, though not the Y-chromosome DNA, in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) in 2010. The Y chromosome is the sex chromosome found only in males, and looking at the genes in this chromosome would show Tut's male lineage.
Pusch's team used snippets of Y-chromosome DNA to link Tut to his closest relatives, identifying his mom and dad. But they didn't publish the full genetic data that would allow genomics companies like iGENEA to link modern people to the Tutankhamen lineage. According to Scholz, that crucial data is what appeared on the Discovery Channel.
"Dr. Albert Zink from the EURAC [European Academy of Bolzano, an independent research center] in Bolzano and co-author of the 2010 JAMA publication screened the footage and confirmed that the company acts very unscientific," Pusch wrote in an email to LiveScience. "The Swiss company did not try to get into contact with us prior to launching their new Internet page."
