    Here in Toronto, we had Edmonton trolleybuses running for about a year right before service ended permanently around '92/'93. Before that it was Flyers. Since then it's just streetcars in terms of overhead wire street-running transit. And LRTs in Scarberia and other outer reaches.

    Of the 54 Skoda trolleycoaches delivered in the 90s, 35 are still active. Only 3 of RTA's routes are fully covered by trolleybuses, others mix TCs and buses or have as little as one trolleybus with all other trips covered by diesel buses. When RTA decides to order its next generation fleet it may be as few as 26 trolleycoaches.

    I swear it looks like the "Next Generation Electric Trolley" buses we see here - such as the #4 at about 3:15 - are just Natural Gas models (seen currently in many other cities) converted to electric use at the last minute. But possibly the most astonishing vehicles here are the yellow and orange ones seen after 6:45 - they must be fifty years old of they're a day. How are they even still licensed to operate at that age?

      110 is part of the historic fleet. 1982 GM/BBC HR150G Brown Boveri (BBC) Model#4EL02030L
      Formerly Miami Valley Regional Transit Authority 110.
      Exx-Edmonton Transit System 110.
      109 is a parts bus for 110. There were 4 Next Generation trolleybuses early on and at the time of this video only 3 were operational as the 4th had been involved in an accident.

    Why wasn't 110's driver wearing a red vest when he got out to reset the poles?

    • @busman7839
      @busman7839  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Safety vest aren't red they are bright yellow and before they were yellow they were orange. I am not sure why the driver didn't have one on. The bus was not a service bus but it was on a fan trip and actually going back to the garage because of a maintenance issue at that time.

      Because when 110 was in service, we weren't required to wear them. We didn't have to wear them until after the strike on 2017, as punishment lol

      Dayton is pretty much a DEAD city (they "roll up the sidewalks") after 6:00 PM most of the time. I use to work downtown at City Hall and thats how it was, when I got off work there was no traffic to slow your way home.

    how I love the trolleybus is the most inspiring impressive transport when trolleybus wires pass over the highway and the trolleybus rods slide along the wires it's so inspiring it's impressive it's a whole landscape but it's a pity if in the near future the trolleybus is removed the wires are dismantled it's a pity there won't be a trolleybus it will be boring without a trolleybus in many cities trolleybuses were removed in moscow trolleybuses were removed the largest trolleybus network in new zealand in Wellington the trolleybus was removed left-hand drive steering wheel on the right door on the left is the most inspiring trolleybus the only trolleybus the city of left-hand traffic where the trolleybus was removed, it's a pity that soon the trolleybus will begin to be cleaned around, because first-class electric buses have already begun to be produced, TESLA has already released such buses and it's a pity that trolleybuses on wires will soon disappear from these buses and it will be boring without them, it will be nice to see how trolleybus wires pass along our street of our city and a trolleybus passes through them, this is a nice, classic landscape and it's a pity soon there will be no wires for trolleybuses, only one will walk electric buses and electric buses as a landscape do not inspire but a trolleybus with wires inspire and soothe
