Vengarl is genuinely the coolest character in DS2. Same as Chalice here I instantly liked him, the way he talked about his body roaming without a head I was hyped to see it as a boss in the fog, ferociously swinging around, making it hard to see what it's even trying to do etc, but it ended up being just a glorified armor lootbox (even though in the original it was way further in the area) Because of the feeling of being "robbed" of this cool experience that I made up myself, I ended up making a cosplay build to invade in the forest for hours per day, in hopes of giving something close to the experience I couldn't get to someone out there.
Theory: messmer once slapped Orstein and cried . Messmer did that because patches controlled him to. Patches undid everything. Gideon paid patches to do this.
Idk if your chat told you this but the transparent people in shaded woods have the same transparency effect as if you were seeing other players nearby, so for people online its less obvious to see them as a threat.
Yay, boss souls lore ❤ Keed in mind that items that can be traded for boss souls always have different and more detailed lore than the soul itself (same as in Elden Ring IIRC). It's even different for each piece you can make from the same soul (up to 3 per boss soul). Fortunately, you don't have to actually trade them, you can read all their descriptions in the trade menu.
Fun fact, in Dark Souls the whip's L2/LT is a parry. People tend to think whips are underpowered because they assume they're a main weapon when they're supposed to be an off-hand utility weapon
In DS2 they're good in either hand though, I have a build that uses a greatsword in the right hand and a notched whip in the left, it's quite powerful.
Claymore is awesome but bastard sword is just as good. there's a good comparison vid showing the attack frames of each. Virtually identical weapons aside from the claymore poke vs the bastard overhead slam.
How come the cat icon's there, everyone? The Wiki says you get it (fall damage reduction) with... Flying Feline Boots equipped Jester's Tights equipped Silvercat Ring equipped Any of Lion Warrior Set equipped
But you're not wearing it whilst spelunking, and the cat icon's still there, and your fall damage confirms it's in effect. I'm probably missing something forehead-slappy.
Hey Chalice, still keeping up somehow. Not sure if you're still reading these. I thought I might remind you of two bits you past. You forgot to seek out the guy in the wheelchair in the shaded woods. Hopefully you'll work that out now I've reminded you. You also left out quite a large chunk in Heides Tower of Flame. I highly recommend walking from Majula, not teleporting. Then once you get there head to the large circle "room" with the three big guys. There you should spot another route which is worth checking out 😸
About the Crystal Lizard… you were doing horizontal swings holding the Claymore at about chest/waist level. How would that hit something on the ground when you’re right in front of it?
Miss Chalice I am begging you to complete Heide's Tower. You listen to twitch chat to skip straight to later levels and I am starting to think twitch chat hates DS2. Why else propose you skip at least 5 levels? For Grave of Saints. 10 skipped for Shaded Woods. Heide's Tower still has two bosses left. Well 1 is in Cathedral of Blue but that's a technicality. You skipped: Cathedral of Blue, Huntsman Copse, Undead Purgatory, Harvest Valley, and Earthen Peak. Which are only going to become more comically easy for you. To get to the Huntsman Copse start from Majula and head to Heide's Tower. Talk to the npc you met after Dragonrider as she has moved to the entrance before Heide's Tower. Pay her for a miracle and a path will open up. Please if you go back to Heide's Tower instead of running right to where dragonrider was have a 1v1 duel and then turn left. Towards something amazing. Also on a personal note the only thing I hate about DS2 is the claymore. It takes the only distinctive aspect away; the slanted cross guard, which is a trait from its evolution of the La Tene anthropomorphic handle sword. I pray you find a better sword you like.
Yippee! Yes, why would anyone play Souls whilst connected? (Apart from PvP that is.) It's meant to be an utterly desolate, solitary vibe. The opposite of that other DS, Death Stranding, which is all about connectivity. Who needs Other People trying to be funny/helpful/idiotic all over your lonesome Dark Soul. Why do you think all the NPC stories end the way they do. My son witnessed the grandma controller pose last episode and said he felt triggered by it. He's a physio.
I'm honestly gonna start skipping episodes unti she gets a new weapon or removes the raw infusion from that bastard sword...it's driving me nuts that she think that a raw weapon is good to be using right now when she has 25 or more strength the last time I checked.
She switched to a Claymore this episode around the 2 hour mark, upgraded it even to +4. Happy? She was aware of the lack of scaling btw, she mentioned that last episode after chat pointed it out. Wanted to switch to lightning infusion but had no Boltstone.

These streams are genuinely the coziest Soulsborne content I've seen in a while.
Also really got me goin down memory lane with this game in general. Iron bridge fight clubs were some peak souls pvp days 😌
Remember you turned your brightness up, so the foggy woods is even worse for you to see in
This is true! Hindered by my own doing!!
58:22 "because it's easy... and it does a lo of damage."
also hitting the trees makes the invisible guys ignore you for a while.
Unfolded like clockwork *Chef's kiss*
I like how theres always a few minutes to take in majula every stream
That crystal lizard has 99 adaptability
Theory: messmer once slapped Orstein and cried .
Messmer did that because patches controlled him to. Patches undid everything. Gideon paid patches to do this.
@@あせお00i see the vision patches is a sly bastard lol
Majula is such a great tune. I could sit and listen to that til sun down.
Damn cranking these out thanks for keeping me busy Miss Chalice 😌
I love watching you play this game. Hoping you do a DS1 and DS3 playthough one day!
6:18 the furtive p̶y̶g̶m̶y̶ dragonrider, so easily forgotten...
lol “i speak with my sword. my diamond sword (swing, swing).”
absolutely love Vengarl. DS2 has some of the best NPCs
Your "fashion souls" is really good, I like the armor combination!😅
I love this series so much!
Hi Chalice, I love your videos. This series has been very fun to watch. I'd love to see you play dark souls 1 as well in the future.
Kevin the "kotodama"
(He's a special type of Hollow)

Seek. Seek. Lest.

You can change your firewall settings to block DS2 if you don't want random invasions. I did that myself and it worked like a charm.
Love to see you do some old fromsoft series called lost kingdoms or shadow tower
unpopular opnion, but if I could only take one Ds game to a desert island, it would be this.
Made in Abyss has the best Giant Fantasy Hole
Spend souls at mcduff so he gives you a titanite slab
Oh thank god she got the claymore! ALL IS SAVED!
Claymore is awesome but bastard sword is just as good. there's a good comparison vid showing the attack frames of each. Virtually identical weapons aside from the claymore poke vs the bastard overhead slam.
If you create a decent Kevin t/sweatshirt, I'll totally buy one
Legit that's such a good idea
Chalice, the iron chests don't have traps inside, only the wooden ones, so you don't need to keep dodging them.
She ever going back to finish Heide’s tower of flame?
Yes I'm sorry i forgot
Hell yeah Clatmore FTW!
03:15:33 Double WOW!
No idea who you are, but sure, I’ll skim another playthrough of one of my fav games.
Her main channel is all souls content
I never thought about how stinky so many characters in DS 2 are lol
How come the cat icon's there, everyone? The Wiki says you get it (fall damage reduction) with...

Yup, I get the Lion Warrior Helm at 1:19:10 :)
But you're not wearing it whilst spelunking, and the cat icon's still there, and your fall damage confirms it's in effect. I'm probably missing something forehead-slappy.

thanks for making TH-cam vids cause I can never watch streams lets go
This playthrough has been great, but I’d like to see you play something more relaxed in the future like Bloodborne
04:32 WOW !!!!!
What dark souls game did the bird women appear in first? I know, but it's intense that they included it in Ds2.
DS1, in the original Painted World.
oddly, I can't get online in any souls game.
Ds2 is super janky but at the same time its super great! Love that game.
\[T]/

Dark souls are mine...oops wrong game.
Yyyellow....
Damn you're beautiful. Great channel content, Dark Souls is the best game of the entire history of gaming together with Planescape Torment
oh im early early

No one cares. You people are so truly pathetic crying about how someone plays a game. You should be embarrassed.
If that was your takeaway from this playthrough, then maybe this isnt the streamer for you.

People don't have to play the way you want them to. You're just a viewer, not an advisor.
A bit over the top, no?
