This show is the bridge between what some call old school drum corps and the drum corps of today. The props are meaningful and used. Hauling a bunch a garbage props on the field does not make a great show. Great job Bluecoats.
@@FiqriHastiadiit was the first shakoless show (no hats) and encouraged less robotic movements and more dance incorporated show design (basically made DCI more like WGI) and was very interactive with the props.
@@SleepyMechanic sure, I guess. But what BD does on their own accord should be irrelevant from the standpoint of DCI. As the governing body of the activity, DCI should promote everyone equally and show no signs of favoritism or bias.
@@BDizDaBest This is my own personal opinion, so please don't get mad at me for saying it, but BD shows don't very often have moments like these that make a huge and lasting impact, moments that stick in your head because they were performed for you and not the judges. Plus, we hear a lot of them as is from them being as dominant as they are in the activity. They just don't often manage to create those iconic moments that people will talk about for years to come the way other corps do. I'm not at all saying that they never have or never well, but they certainly don't leave as much of an impression as other corps do most of the time. And if you're DCI itself, and you want to get more people into the activity online, sharing the iconic moments corps are making is a better bet than sharing shows that may not always leave an impression. This is all just my personal opinion on the situation, though, so like I said, please don't get mad at me! That all said, I will agree that DCI ought to be sure that they're representing corps of all levels, not just world class. Open and All-Age deserve the love too!
