The idea of old is good and new is bad is really silly, because there are good and bad things in every generation. Granted that’s not an exciting or edgy take to have, but I’ve already gone through my pretentious anime fan phase many years ago.
I also think we old Anime fans have a selection bias: only the best, most cutting edge and high quality Manga and Anime made it to the West at a time when it was really rare. At the very least only the most popular got imported. These days with the Internet we can see the whole spectrum of Japanese Animation, the good and the bad. We just never watched the 80s and 90s trash because it wasn't available and now is lost media so we can't really compare, so now we have this distorted idea of the time.
@@marlonbryanmunoznunez3179 oh no there was absolute mountains of terrible anime back then too. There were a couple of companies that didn’t care about the quality of the anime, just that it was VERY cheap to license.
@@marlonbryanmunoznunez3179 also his example of a modern anime is something that came 16 years ago. So bro clearly doesn’t know what he is talking about.
8:02 That does not work at all. The "old equals gud, new equals bad" argument is a failed argument that only is used by people who point to Western AAA games, or new Western cartoons and say "See? It's all bad now!!!" while ignoring the bad from the old days and the good from the present.
Old good new bad sweety Honestly though if you like ghis perpetual freshman highschooler stuff they pump out now more power to you I’m just sick of every anime being about high school age naive virgins with 0 game. Protagonists used to be archetypical smooth talking badasses now they are all turbo virgins. Tanya the Evil was interesting despite being an isekai it was a lil different but look at that they basically shitcanned it.
What i love about Kawajiri the most is how he filters troons and leftists so damn hard. Literally all these soy channels discussing anime constantly shit on him for being problematic. Its like a litmus test to see who is a true anime fan and who is just a pundit who can-t watch anything not made by Miyazaki or some moeblob crap.

Was…. Not expecting a whole-ass Shema quoted. 😝
That Orion was never animated of all of Shirow’s works makes me so sad😭
Hey how did you know my dub philosophy?
“…I watched it for the other thing.”
The cute mascot?
Errrm Old Good New Bad sweety
The moment you said Israel you lost me
Nah sub will always be better
4:44 WTF??????????????????????
8:02 That does not work at all. The "old equals gud, new equals bad" argument is a failed argument that only is used by people who point to Western AAA games, or new Western cartoons and say "See? It's all bad now!!!" while ignoring the bad from the old days and the good from the present.
Erm, old bad stuff is better than new bad stuff
but its true. you had old bad stuff but then you had a lot of Genius Tier stuff. Now is all crap but none of the good.
@@CulturedCrusader old bad stuff is better than new "good" stuff
Old good new bad sweety
Honestly though if you like ghis perpetual freshman highschooler stuff they pump out now more power to you I’m just sick of every anime being about high school age naive virgins with 0 game. Protagonists used to be archetypical smooth talking badasses now they are all turbo virgins. Tanya the Evil was interesting despite being an isekai it was a lil different but look at that they basically shitcanned it.
"Аниме кино" звучит как-то по-дурацки
:(
What i love about Kawajiri the most is how he filters troons and leftists so damn hard. Literally all these soy channels discussing anime constantly shit on him for being problematic. Its like a litmus test to see who is a true anime fan and who is just a pundit who can-t watch anything not made by Miyazaki or some moeblob crap.
