  • Jason's journey with woodworking began at a young age when he embarked on a carpenter and joinery apprenticeship in Colchester, Essex, straight after leaving school. It was during this apprenticeship that he discovered woodturning, igniting a passion that would shape his future. Despite completing his apprenticeship with City and Guilds, Jason's path took an unexpected turn following a workplace accident that left him wheelchair-bound due to a fractured spine.Determined not to let his disability hinder his love for woodworking, Jason adapted his techniques and taught himself to turn wood while seated. Woodturning became more than just a hobby for Jason; it became a form of therapy, offering solace and a sense of normality amidst his challenges. Over time, Jason ventured into working with wood and resin, developing innovative pouring techniques that allowed him to create stunning pieces resembling planets, space, and oceans. This newfound method not only granted him greater artistic freedom but also enabled him to utilise smaller wood pieces effectively.

Nice hollow form. Very impressive, really. Sorry to hear about your health issues. May I suggest a face mask, so you don't get any new health issues.
