Will, thank you!! I'm 86 and caring for my wife in palliative care (Cancer). I need more energy and strength; this workout will definitely move me in that direction. Wishing you must success from the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia USA! You are an inspiration!!
Hi Will. Your videos are superb! They are so effective, instructional and educational. I have been managing a herniated disc since my 20s, mostly with yoga. Now in my 40s, I was experiencing some loss in my range of motion and strength. I also learned I need muscle to build bone, which led me to resistance bands. Now I alternate between yoga and your videos. I can't thank you enough for making your professional guidance so accessible.
Brilliant! Thank you! I'm 68 and disabled, and am wanting to get back into shape after a truly chaotic year. My medical insurance gives me an allowance for OTC products, which includes resistance bands, so I picked up several (from medium to 2X). They arrived this afternoon! So I looked through YT videos for a good workout, and decided to start with this one--I'm glad I did! I only did one set of each exercise for starters since I'm so out of shape, and boy, I feel the burn already! 😊 I look forward to continuing my fitness journey with your help!
Have been wondering at how to strengthen my core and upper body shoulder muslces. Have been looking for a good video to help me get starte. This one seems to be the best. The video is very clear - with respect to body position and movement. Thanks very much. An excellent one - for me atarting at the age of 70+ !!
Hi Will, Great workout videos for the over 50''s. I am 65 and use to go to the gym but started doing band exercises at home 18 months ago. With respect to this full body video I struggled to change bands between the two exercises in each superset hence I did each exercise three times instead eg banded squats x 3, rest then banded press x 3, rest then curl & press x 3 etc. This still resulted in a good full body workout.
Thank you. I recently switched from Resistance Bands to an Isomectric band which did improve my joint problems a lot. My muscles were doing fine but my joints needed a bit more time and rest.
I just found your channel, I’ve had 2 spinal surgeries. Trying to get stronger so I’m in less pain. And get into the dress 👗 I want wear to my niece’s wedding. Also just go set of tube resistant bands and was not sure how to use them. Thank you 😊
I'm almost 87 and I do super sets, but I cannot do them as you recommend, that is, without recovering between sets. For example, for my chest I do an inclined bench press 12 reps with 50lb dumbbells. This brings my pulse to 145bpm when my normal resting pulse is 54. My next exercise is on an assisted pullup apparatus for my back. I need to wait until my pulse goes down to 100bpm before doing a set of 14 pullups. My goal is maintaining strength. If I were to immediately go from one exercise to another without recovering my respiration, I would only be capable of using a weight far less than optimal to bring myself close to muscle failure. This is a recipe for losing strength.
I’m 64 and have lost 50 pounds in 90 days. Went from 240 to 190. My goal is 175. I walk over 20,000 steps a day and eat very clean foods. I also do OMAD and I do a 20/4 intermediate daily fasting. I just ordered a set of resistant bands and will start resistant training at home 20 minutes a day. No need to spend money on a gym membership. I still work 40 hours a week and ride my Harley daily. I feel awesome and have no health issues. Eat Clean. Exercise Daily. Live Longer.
These are pretty much what I’ve ended up doing with bands through trying to replicate dumbbell exercises. I much prefer the gradual increase in resistance of the bands over fixed dumbbell versions. I use the Theraband type bands with no handles that you cut to your desired length. I use a longer cut length and double and triple it up for different exercises. Very easy, light and compact to take away with you when travelling too.
@@HT-Physio A skipping/jump rope and a resistance band are always in my travelling kit. They take up hardly any room in a bag, and are both very effective.

Hello, Will. New subscriber here. I absolutely love your channel here on TH-cam. I'm slowly going through all your videos, and I've already seen lots and lots of great advice. Stretching exercises, warm up exercises with resistance bands, which exercises to do, which we better not do - as we're already over 50's -, so thank you very much! You're definitely a reference for me, as I'm planning to keep moving while keeping in mind all the safety measures :) Cheers!
Thank you so much for your kind comment and for subscribing - it sounds like you're making a great effort to safely protect your mobility and strength which is fantastic - keep up the great work and I wish you all the best!
So glad I subscribed to your Friday newsletter and got a link to this workout. I will be incorporating this into my weight workout routine. If we do the 2 minute rest after each superset, the rests alone will be 18 minutes, so it will take longer. OR you could just keep going and make them really SUPER sets. However it comes out, this is a great way to use those resistance bands and another great video from Will! Thank you!
Hi Will: Following from L.A. Many thanks for this full body resistance band workout! This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Best wishes to you and your community in the UK and around the world.
Thank you Will for your videos. It has been really helpful to me. I am 63 and from Malaysia and I subscribed to your you tube to learn more of your great exercises.
So grateful for your focus on us snowbirds! Would like to buy the resistance band set you're using but no link provided (& are they suitable for shorties?!)?

I absolutely love your channel, always great advice! I have been looking for a good band workout , I have same bands! Thank you so much! Hope you have a great week😊
As always you are great. I'm slowing following some of your exercises. I know you say Speak to your GP first etc...but that's not as easy as it sounds in today's climate...and not poss for each new exercise! Could you put specific exercises up and say Yep, these are good for blah blah blah but avoid if you have a hernia or hip/back problem...or these are good and safe for hip issues? You get my gist...Cheers.
I've been following many of these for 6 months using resistance bands. These are all great exercises. But doing the curl and press at 4:05, whilst fine as an exercise, weakened my resistance band because it involves more than 3 times extension in the length of the band. It would be better to split this exercise into two stages, so that it can be done with less extension of the resistance band.
Great exercises, my only problem was on the first exercise. I am a small man with shoulders like a trout, so the bands kept sliding off my shoulders 😂, ended up crossing the bands behind my back.
Thanks Will for this content. I have been advised to do some resistance training, and find your videos very useful. I am just about to start so want to find suitable exercises. One thing I would like to know, what do you recommend to build up my chest muscles, as it seems your routine concentrates on shoulders, arms, back, legs and core.
all good. thanks. but what about the lifters over 50? Are there band workouts for them to recommend? I guess one needs something more difficult isn't it?
First exercise: the band snapped in two and scared the $&@* out of me. This is not the first time one has broken on me. The first exercise put too much tension on my short bands, so after the breakage, I used two bands: one under each foot.
Just found this video and I’m wondering: what about legs? The squats don’t hit the innner and outer thighs-what about those muscles? And the back muscles? Core? I feel like a lot of muscles are missing so it’s not really “whole body” is it?
What weight level to use for these exercises? I recently had a rotator cuff injury and want to rebuild strength. My set has 20lbs as the lightest resistance band, I am 67 years old, 155cm short and weigh 160lbs
Hey Wil I have tried the Band Squat but cannot stretch the bands over my shoulders as you have demonstrated. It seems that I am concerned about pulling the bands beyond their stretch limits.
