The use of carbon fiber in pickle ball paddles is a good thing. They are lighter and add a bit of grit to the hitting surface. But to say a 12k CF is stronger and stiffer than a 3k CF is wrong. PAN (polyacrylonitrile) fibers start off as a polymer and are processed to CF. Individual fibers are grouped together for processing. Example: 3k CF is 3,000 individual fibers grouped together into a 'tow.' The lower the tow count, the better the mechanical properties of the resultant CF. Higher tow count has lower properties but cheaper cost because more is processed at one time.
Especially Joola, it's made in china and they are 300 after taxes...... sucks I like the paddle they make, the scorpius, so I'm looking for something else similar to that paddle.
@ 99% of the paddles on the market are made in China with huge mark ups. I get it, they have to cover lots of costs not just the paddle cost but it does feel exorbitant when most of them are made the same way and they claim all of this “tech”. Also for what it’s worth I love my KiwiLabs Slice which is a similar shape to the Scorpius.
I got this one in BF sale, including my CC refund for 168$ and I feel like it's a great paddle in this price. For $230, of course it's overpriced but the power air was 250 for a long time and the Luxx now still 250$ so every high end SLK paddles are overpriced. So if we think about the Vanguard pro as it's cheaper than the Luxx (and power air) so it's reasonable. Anw, the Halo series are great and much cheaper price. I switched from 6.0 Ruby so It gave me very, very different feel. It's a Selkirk so it makes me feel like emulating tennis raquet. The softness, the pop, the grab are similar to a tennis raquet so I can use tennis stroke with it. Compare to 6.0 Ruby I gotta change my form to adapt. The 6.0 Ruby still better one overall with better feedback, better for doubles but when I play single matches, I feel like it's nothing special. The Vanquard pro gave me better rainbow stroke, better spin, even better handle because the Ruby still a head heavy paddle. For $168 so I love it but I won't buy it at $230. BTW, In my country, vendors selling this Vanguard pro for around $210, 10% cheaper than when i was launched.
I have the Selkirk Pro Invikta. I love it, I think it's a great control paddle (not all-court like Selkirk says), but I agree with you that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone due to its price.
I agree. I have tried about 40 different paddles in 2 years. I love playing with a bunch of them. When it gets down to competitive play or tournament play I always play Vatic. You cant go wrong with Vatic paddles. The best paddles for your momey guaranteed. The next paddle company after VP to me would be 11six24. They make great paddles for the price too. As for sellirk..... I am never ever buying one again. Highest priced pillows out there. 😂😂
Hahaha. Yeah I’m gonna get my hands on 11six24 soon. I would’ve mentioned them as an alternative, I’ve just never played w them. But from everything I hear, great value.
It's just a basic ass paddle and its nothing special. Yes its a good paddle but so is a vatic and hundred others, Shit is just overpriced and if your okay with knowing that, then go ahead and enjoy the paddle.
It's about time someone did a detailed review of this paddle. It's been in my cart for weeks and I'm about to buy it. Thanks...
Yeah they were too late with me, I think they should do a good sale on it for holidays and I think they could get alot of traction, like 150-175

This may be a hot take, but I don't think there is a paddle out there that should cost $230.
material and labor costs less than $15, all these paddles are extremely overpriced. including QC and innovation, no paddle should cost more than $120

@@TheLuckyDink their "tech" and "innovation" is different patterns of spray foam

@buildingpickleball I really like their 14 mm Kevlar. They're right up there with value like VP. Can't go wrong buying any one of their paddles.
Good to know!
At what price point would this be okay at? 180-200?
Hm like 170?
I demoed this paddle and it was a great all court paddle. I didnt get it because its just way over priced.
Right?
It's just a basic ass paddle and its nothing special. Yes its a good paddle but so is a vatic and hundred others, Shit is just overpriced and if your okay with knowing that, then go ahead and enjoy the paddle.
Ears of a warrior.
How does the cheater paddle (joola) feel vs the B&B Fatboy ?
Not really comparable. Which one are you curious about?
Haha Alex needs to find a dude around the court and get a new over grip on that thang
😂
the slk halo pro is much better and cheaper than this imo
For $130, the Halo Power is one hell of a paddle
Dude put Joola tape on a Selkirk 🤮
😂😂 look, it was free and all I had at the moment
paddle is mediore, nothing special
