    my 2014 d13 still running with 960 k miles no complaints its paying my bills, good working truck

      My 2013 D13 still running too. 660k miles just minor issues thus far. Also paying my bills.

      How do they run when going uphills ? Thinking of getting one but dont want to go with cummins

      They run very well uphill. Good low-end torque

    I got 1200000 miles on my D13 Volvo Automated and still running strong. Do your oil changes on time and they will run forever.

    These engines are a beast. Matched with a ishift and 3.08 rear. I was really impressed

    What's the sensor's name on top of the oil filter housing??

      That is an oil pressure sensor but this one measure the pressure from the piston cooling valve from the filter housing. Thanks for watching.

    what coolant is this truck using? i use the orange elc, this looks more rose or pink color.

      Yeah, you are right about the color. These trucks comes with Texaco ELC that is like kind purple or dark pink color, others trucks do not have the sticker brand but they still specify what kind of coolant is recommended to use if you flush it. I hope this answer your question.

      Texaco heavy Duty ELC , it's actually light purple. Engine oil is factory fill Chevron DELO 10-30

      We work on this kind of engine but it is for tractor trucks.

      @@jaimecruz5367 some customer make 600 000 in one year and no problem , but the engine keep warmer on BUs because engin is in back.

      @@jaimecruz5367 in our fleet, usually, they have couple issues now and then but this is for 2016 and older, like NOx sensor problems or emissions relate it. Beyond 500,000 miles usually transmission has problems and Injectors cups, but this depends of many factors like PM intervals, driver performance and other little things. 2017 and newer trucks still around 400,000 miles or less, so I cannot give an answer for that yet.

    It don’t come close to pre-emissions 12.7 DD reliability.

      Yeah, DD13/15/16 are reliable engines in general. But we will see how this Volvo D13 engines perform down the road.

    don't waist your money, volvo engines are good engines but mucho money to fix it, jus get another engine from 8500 to 13500, and get back to the road; by the way I have a 2010 volvo D13 678,000 miles, who is interested? let me know, I'm in san antonio tx, it's 500 dollars for shiping.

    I have question d13 volvo good for over load 138k lb ? And how much hpw should be?

      I do not know about overload around that size. This engine Volvo D13 is 450 HP, so this is relative small engine for that, in the other hand, you have Volvo D16, this engine can make up 600 HP, so it depend of the engine configuration. Thanks for watching.

      @@LetstalkDIESEL In UK/EU the D16 has been making 750bhp and 2620lbs/ft for many years. We're now waiting for the D16-800

      @@LetstalkDIESEL d16 is discontinued in the united states because it did not sell very well, only d11 and 2 variants of the d13 are still around, the normal d13 and the d13tc or turbo compound.

    Cummins < Packard < DD15 < D13. VOLVO is best, and Cummins must die after 7yr experience!!

      Let’s see in a long run who stays in the top. Volvo and Detroit engines for now keep the crown in the top 3 with Cummins at the third place. Thanks for share your opinion.

      Roughly, from $3,500 up to $20,000 (US dollars) might be better if you use that money for a down payment in a new truck, this is my personal opinion. Thanks for watching and for the support to the channel.

      You might need the engine serial number, truck year and your VIN number, also do not try to find the engine by yourself, try to consult a Technician before buying it. This is my personal opinion, I hope to help you in your decision.

    Where is oil temperature sensor

      Oil temperature sensor is located on the driver side (left side of the engine), close to the air compressor, you will see two sensor close to each other, the one of the top is the oil pressure sensor. Thanks for watching.

    What are most common problems with it and are parts and labor high I’ve heard they can pricey for service Im thinking of looking at one for a good price 2019’ d13 with ishift. VNL62T just not sure that’s what I want

    Horrible to work on, should make kinder-garden engineers work on them, then you would see changes, sensors and connectors are total garbage.

    Essa volvo já está na hora de criar um novo bloco de motor pra sair na frente do bloco da (Paccar DAF) esses caminhões dessa marca usa uma mecânica muito mais eficiente do que da volvo que ainda usa um bloco sem tanta Evolução!!!!!
