What would make these benchmarks immensely more meaningful are benchmark tests from ACTIII. Act III in Baldur's Gate is the real test as frame rate drops are significant. So having 30fps avg in Act 1&2 doesn't mean much when it comes to the big finale act. Great video but let's see those ACT III benchmarks! :)
😢I really wanted to enjoy Baldur's Gate 3 with a slow gameplay, but you're going to make me rush to act 3. Jokes aside, thanks for the feedback! I totally understand your point of view and I agree that the more demanding parts of the game should also be tested to provide a more comprehensive view of the performance.
Ive tested baldurs myself and somewhere in your settings your messing something up because i get 73 fps and after about 30 min my average fps is 65 so def mess with more stuff game will look even better
I did test it recently, and I couldn't seem to notice any visual differences regarding quality and image sharpness. But I did notice that playing at 720p without FSR did give me higher, more consistent framerates.

@@benchmarkbros All good. LIke I said great video! Hopefully when you do you can revisit that portion :) As for me...no spoilers to you I promise!!!
Very awesome I cant wait to grab one this Fall. :)
Might be a gen 2 by then! Which would really crush it
Why don't you use the FSR ?
It looks bad, really bad with FSR on.

can you tell your settings?
If you show me I'll give you $100
which setting allow for longer battery life ? 720 low with 30 fps cap ?
You're going to get roughly the same battery life, but the game isn't going to look as smooth. I think you're better off with uncapped FPS.
How does it do in the large areas?
Pretty much the same, no noticeable drops tbh.
@@benchmarkbros nice just started playing myself.
@Caseylawton I hope you enjoy it, it's a really good game. The only "downside" is that you're going to spend a lot of hours with it 😃
haha and thats exactly why I wanted the Ally, LOTS of work travel coming up...@@benchmarkbros
Did you tried 8gb vram settings so far?
No, I haven't tried 8GB of VRAM. There shouldn't be much difference though since I'm using 5GB of VRAM and it isn't being maxed out.
Is this the Ally Z1 or Z1 extreme version? :)
It's the Z1 Extreme version.
whats better 720 wo FSR or 1080 w FSR

Did you try 900p ?
Nope, I haven't tried 900p yet. But to be frank, I'm really satisfied with how the game looks and performs at 720p.
Go to act 3 and enjoy 23 fps
does it happen even with the best settings? ive never seen someone with an ally playing act 3, and with the steam deck it runs at 15-22fps
Over 30+ fps easly. Deck does 15-25fps - Ally doubles it. Also You can plug in to have 30W mode - or mod Ally to even 50W or use more aggressive FSR.
Not amazing. Especially for how hot they run. I will wait.
