I have this blade. As I usually do, I removed the G10 scales, made my own from walnut. Made a custom leather sheath for it, and I have to say I like it a lot. I also have one of the other Nedfoss blades you referred to, the "Nedfoss survival knife" ( fixed blade ). Same deal, made my own scales (rosewood) and sheath. These are decent and stout blades and a good value. Thanks for the review.

I have an Oerla branded version. It's made of 420hc. I nicknamed it the dog walker.

Good review. I gotta say, NF has landed on my radar. The Dragon has the aggressive blade shape I like. This company seems to be the only one besides Cold Steel that isn't afraid of building bigger knives, and most all the models in the Amazon Store are very appealing. Good thing they're in the budget territory, because a few will be joining the collection before long!

The right size for scout carry. Should work well as idiot repellent. Excellent presentation as always.

I scout carry this blade as my EDC and I love it, but the jipping is great as it's drawn in the ready position. Especially the choke up finger position.

3:03 it’s throw time! I basically have 2 criteria for buying a new knife - its got to be a thrower and the wife has to say - “oh please, not another knife.” Happy to report that we just checked all the boxes! Enter the Dragon1

Dunno if you'll see this but Horl is the original maker of the "barrel" type sharpener and the difference is literally night and day. The price on the Horl is $2-300 though =(

I like that blade style. I do a lot of carving and the American Tantos are some of my favorites for that. In fact I was just reshaping an axe handle and was using my Petrified Fish Beluga. I started out using one of my Moras and switched to the Beluga because the Mora wasn't doing very well on the beech. The Beluga ended up working better even though in theory the Mora should have done better. Tantos are a lot more versatile than most people realize. I don't know how many times I've seen people saying Tantos are only good for one thing. That just tells me that person probably isn't very skilled with a knife or they haven't ever tried using a tanto. I'm in my 60s and I still remember when 440C was considered a premium knife steel and many custom knife makers used it.
It's not one of my preferred knife steels but I do have a couple knives in 440C I use every once in awhile. One just happens to be a tanto folding knife. It holds an edge long enough to do what's required of it and it's easy to resharpen. Good review!😊

Nice! I have a few Ned Foss knives and they are pretty good for a budget blade. I also have the worksharp precision adjust system you should reach out to worksharp and see if they'll send you one to review its only about $50.00 for the basic model and it works great they also have a guided field sharpener that works great to its like a whetstone with the angles already installed on it so it's easy to learn how to use a whetstone with muscle memory and they just seem to be a good company as well. 🔪⚔🗡 ✊🏻🇺🇸✊🏻

I'm not as drawn to the Tanto style from an appearance point of view, but I'm sure that they can be very effective knives. Ultimately, effectiveness is most important.

Indeed, my friend! I think they are more combat than anything. I’m not drawn to them on a bush craft level. Would be cool in the apocalypse lol

Not bad. Id probably grind that pommel down though makes it more carry friendly. Besides if I'm cracking them in the noggin with the pommel, it's probably b/c I'm trying to take the less lethal route anyway. Lol

It's nice, but I'm stuck on the Tops Saw 02 after your presentation on it. Being able to hold the knife in the ice pick grip makes sense. I'm perfectly happy with my Kyoto II for appendix carry, but that Saw 02 might be something to save up for.

Nice knife. I learned a lot on knife sharpening from Ryky on his burrfection channel. He uses a variety of stones, as do I. For those interested, check out his sharpening tutorials.

Seems more of a bushcraft blade to me. As far as I'm concerned, a tactical blade needs a crossguard so there is zero chance of your hand slipping over the blade during violent stabbing, and has to be robust enough so it won't snap.

Very scary looking blade and it looks like it could be very fast and effective. The one thing about long weapons is people either have the option of getting out of the way or closing the distance and that’s the only danger with a longer weapon.
