One of her b-sides off that album, 'LxxK 2 U', is my favorite song to come out this year. 'SMARTPHONE' actually leaned more into escapism than I expected. I'm seeing it as the phone itself is her best friend and a metaphorical airplane that she can use to go anywhere without actually leaving her room. She's happier escaping to these other worlds, where she can be and do anything, than dealing with the real one, where she puts on a happy face despite being lonely deep down.
