Hmm being from the Arabian desert my self I concur with you Mat, it’s not a good idea to run out of fuel in the middle of the desert no. Especially in summer 😱🤣
makes me wonder how much better it is than a land cruiser. i had one for a few months, after years of driving a range rover, and was thoroughly dissatisfied with the ride comfort - especially higher speeds and small bump response was crude by comparison. sadly, no chance of this car in EU; it has nothing to do with having customers, and everything to do with pedestrian safety regulations, and to some extent the CO2 emission quotas. this car is probably unsafe for pedestrians, and would force Lexus to buy CO2 credits to compensate for its inefficiency. nope. none of that stuff for the civilized world.

This new Lexus will indeed standout in a parking lot because it doesnt look like a new car with a massive grill but rather it looks as if a new car has been added to a massive grill 😆
Matt, though the 10 speed has more gears, I believe the starting and final ratio are the same, just with more ratios in between, so there are no lower ratio gears for off roading. Besides, both the Lexus and Land Cruiser have low range, so there would be no reason to have a lower ratio starting gear in high range other that being quicker off the line and needing to change sooner. I like the updated interior and drivetrain, but many of the features you mentioned are present in the old LX570. Things like adaptive cruise control, AHC/ride height control, drive modes, crawl control, limited slip diff and so on. I personally prefer the 200 series / LX570 rear end with the split boot without the seats going into the floor. The old style has 1100mm of loading height compared to 950mm on the new one and the 3rd row seats on the old one can be easily removed without impacting the flat floor.
@@ahfreebird 100% agree! Also can be opened in tighter spaces and somehow it’s easier to pack more kit in with the split tailgate. I close the bottom and pack into every nook and cranny, then stack lighter items on top. With new design, everything will come tumbling out when you open it after some time on the road. I love my 570. Hopefully they make an off-road LX600, like they did with the GXOR GX460.

I wish they made it bit longer to truly accommodate adults in the 3rd row, Hopefully third row seats fold flat. Also they should have added a panoramic roof. Also i think the new 2024 Infiniti QX80 will give this Lexus a true run for the money. Both will be truly reliable though
It actually looks pretty good
The grill looks shit.
@@rufus231 on the sport model it looks wired but the luxury trim look nice
Hmm being from the Arabian desert my self I concur with you Mat, it’s not a good idea to run out of fuel in the middle of the desert no. Especially in summer 😱🤣
I like it. I can use the grill for cooking steak when camping
First review I saw where the car has no disadvantages completely satisfied
Comparing to the Rolls Royce is kind of a click bait. It's more X7 oder GLS.
makes me wonder how much better it is than a land cruiser. i had one for a few months, after years of driving a range rover, and was thoroughly dissatisfied with the ride comfort - especially higher speeds and small bump response was crude by comparison. sadly, no chance of this car in EU; it has nothing to do with having customers, and everything to do with pedestrian safety regulations, and to some extent the CO2 emission quotas. this car is probably unsafe for pedestrians, and would force Lexus to buy CO2 credits to compensate for its inefficiency. nope. none of that stuff for the civilized world.
@@ognacyyoutuification the difference between suspension between the tlc200 and the lx570 was/is massive, the 200 looks way better than the 570 but the suspension god that suspension makes the lx the better everyday car
This looks so nice... But i prefer the Maybach GLS to be honest. And this is definetely better than the Cullinan according to my opinion. :)
Maybach is something different and the price class also even though i'm a fan of lexus en mercedes i think the maybach cant be compared to this car.
You gotta be drunk, no other suv that is more comfortable or more luxurious than cullinan, it really is on a different league
@@ramadhanisme7 i like the features and quality of Cullinan more but this LOOKS better than Cullinan. And its just my opinion bro ;)
@@devullas277 oh you are talking about the design, yeah the design of cullinan is not for everyone while this one is more acceptable for the masses
If I won the lottery I would buy this car, it looks amazing 🥵
👍
Better get some glasses first

It just cracked me up 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Middle East is by far its best market, and all the people here take the LX on the dunes, since its basically a luxurious LC... This is one is by far the most luxurious LX ever!
Tho I am disappointed they didn't come out with a offroad focused model like the LC 300 GR sport....
Please review the new Lexus Nx 350 and also this new video was absolutely amazing Mat!, looking forward to your review about the new Lexus NX :"D

This "SUV", as many others, has one advantage! It has doors so you can get inside it so you don't have to look at it from the outside! Most Lexuses look as if the designers take their clues fron crash test prototypes!
yeah, I can't afford a Lexus, too, bud..
th-cam.com/video/NlT6XqpoeTo3/w-d-xo.htmlu
it looks awesome!
Looks nice, but I just noticed the wheelbase 2:06. Should the rear wheels be set back a tiny bit more?
Apart from the grill, that Lexus looks beautiful, perfect shape for an SUV
BMW left the chat after seeing this front grill..
Even though this “grill” is way bigger than bmw’s new kidneys they actually manage to make it look good and work with the design, especially because this grill is mostly body color. This problem with bmw’s grill isn’t size it’s the way they executed it as well

The grille reminds me of 1950's American. Good promo video for Lexus Matt, might have been more convincing if we had seen you actually driving the car
This is just a regular first look video that Carwow usually makes, fyi the reason Mat is not driving this new LX because it has just been introduced recently. I'm pretty sure Lexus never asked or pay youtuber/influencer to directly promote their cars, unlike some of the Korean brands
This thing flows into the bumps, massive suspensions front and rear
This new Lexus will indeed standout in a parking lot because it doesnt look like a new car with a massive grill but rather it looks as if a new car has been added to a massive grill 😆
It's Japan's Range Rover (But 10X reliable), not Rolls Royce Cullinan.
Yikes the size of that grill though. We are going to end up with a car which the front end is entirely just a grill xDD
How original
It’s not hard to imagine that the new model will also suffer a lot of theft damage.

I was on board until I realized the clamshell tailgate was gone. I love having a tailgate to sit / set stuff on.
@@tsponge101 I hope so too, especially since the US isn’t getting the LC. Even if they don’t, it shouldn’t be too hard to cut those bumpers up and put some rock sliders on. That’s what I’ve done with my LX.
LC200 still uses the hand parking brake, presumably no auto hold function on the car?
looks lovely inside of course but I haven’t seen a good looking Lexus in a good 20 years
