    This is a GREAT in-depth video. I've been considering a Console 1 and your run-through has really helped my decision. Thank you so much!

    I own Console 1 and several of the additional mixing strips (SSL XL9000, British Class A and American Class A). As mentioned in the above review, it is so simple and easy to use. The fact that you can focus on listening and tweaking the knobs instead of having to watch the screen and using your mouse/keyboard to fiddle with some EQ or Compressor plugins. The plugins are amazing... really high quality. The SSL XL9000 is authorized by SSL and I believe they were even involved in the development of that plugin. Great bang for the buck!! (you should buy the additional pmixing strips during sale)

    Have you had any issues between the Console 1 controller and Pro X’s? I have the Pro X and want to add the Console 1 setup. Also using Logic Pro.
    When you select a track on the Qcon, does the Console 1 controller “know” which track you’re in or do you need to select on both controllers?
    Thanks!

    1. can we use this with Universal audio plugins in Logic? some say the software is buggy and not a good experience with other party plugins...
    2. can we use this with Fabfilter, Izotope?

    Great video. Thanks for sharing. Quick question for you though. What’s the advantage of going QCon ProX as opposed to just pairing up the Console 1 Control Surface with the Console 1 Fader controller? I’m very much considering both products for my studio. Thanks.

    • @consordini6258
      @consordini6258  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The C1 Fader is missing a lot of key components for me as a control surface. Meters, full transport and navigation, per-channel pan pots, scribble strip plus it only has 10 faders. I frequently work on projects with 40+ tracks, so all that banking and cross-referencing with the screen isn't a great workflow for me. Plus, my clients love walking in and seeing a proper console. Just my opinion, though. In any case, thanks for watching!

    Nice video, congrats !
    So far I understand that I can not use it with not UA or Softube plugins right? For instance, let me say that I would like to use with the stock cubase 10.5 plugins, or fab filter plugins... Should work?
    BTW in your opinion, C1 or Qcon if have to choose just one?

    Hi, I have almost the exact same setup as you. Where did you find a usb cable wich allows you to fit the console 1 so nice together with the icons? The cable that came with my console 1 is too big

    So I currently use FL Studio 20, but would consider changing DAWs to Cuebase for the sake of a solid controller.
    What is your opinion on using FL Studio 20 and the icon controllers you have vs. Cuebase and the Softube/Steinberg controllers?

  • @studiokoku196

    I got an ProX and 3 Xs and want as setup : Xs Xs ProX XS (with track numbers in right order !!!!)
    But its just possible to get the ProX left or right
    I can see in your vid that you had to do the same...how did you do??
    I am working with Logic ProX
    Besides....everytime i power up the device ProX) i have to make the choice for 1,2 or 3 Extenders...
    This has to be done with a permanent setting...or no?
    Like to hear!

    What do you make of the fader version of this? I have the console 1 and love it. I’m torn between the C1 fader and the FaderPort 8 as a fader controller.

    • @consordini6258
      @consordini6258  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that the Fader is a neat idea, but not super practical as a control surface for a lot of reasons. No scribble strips, no real transport, no dedicated pan pots, limited integration with some DAWs... While it's a very cool idea, I think Softube could have done better, personally. I just got a Faderport 16 for mobile work and LOVE it.

    Sir, doing this overview of Console 1. Ur presentation is awesome, however, might I suggest that u make the smaller window at bottom left of screen larger and u also not cover the Console 1 with ur huuuge hands, so we can see the knobs ur moving, move on screen and, when u move a knob, we can see where it's located on the Console 1. Sorry to be semi-critical, but I really did enjoy ur presentation. HAND.

    How is Console 1 rear USB Cable connected? It appears to be butted up next to the mixer.... which would not allow the cable to be connected. What's the secret to your real estate solution on the desk? Thanks!

    Hi! Just came across this product. Looks promising, but I use Ozone and Spundtoys plug ins, and a bunch of others. How does that work out?
    ...or is it utopian to think that any controller console would actually seemlesly control everything?

  • @guitardude32787
    @guitardude32787 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    From what I've heard, being in studio one and having this controller you can actually map it to ANY plugin like a normal controller from what i was told. Have you experimented with that? I want this so bad but i can't move away from Brainworx SSL E channel and fab filter q 3.

    • @consordini6258
      @consordini6258  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do put an instance of Console 1 on every channel, but that's as easy as highlighting all the channels in a session and adding it. Once that's done, it automatically configures itself with names, track order, and everything else.

    Thank you for the reply Alex.I feel the same.I already have the Console one like you have.I just ordered the Qcon G2 Pro ,cause the Qcon Pro x is on back order in most cases plus sometimes buying extenders are sometimes an issue,but minus a few bells and whistles it may be fine with the G2 and Console one.I just sold a Fader One.Do you think the Qcon G2 Pro is a good alternative?
    Thanks

    Hey Alex ,you know Softube has a 10 channel fader called Console Fader,but I think the setup you have with the Qcon shows more in terms of the tracks lining up.I have the fader but may go back to the Qcon Pro x and console one combination.Have you seen the Fader one?

    • @consordini6258
      @consordini6258  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have, and it's a cool concept. But it's just too small to be practical for me. Plus - no scribble strips, tiny mute/solo buttons, no real transport control or jog/zoom facility, 10 faders is an odd number in this day and age... etc. They could have made a much more elegant and full-featured solution if they had made it bigger. I love the idea but a C1-sized box is just too small for an effective control surface. Even the Icon Platofmr M is slightly larger than the C1 and that's already really tiny.

    • @chaddonal4331
      @chaddonal4331 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@consordini6258 10 faders works really well with the C1 (being 20 channels).

    Great overview. We have similar outlooks on working with DAW’S and getting as much physical control rather than the mouse. I have a similar setup, in that I use Console 1 and a Behringer X-Touch & Extender. So I’ve got hardware control for; faders, transport, pan, solo etc. And then channel strip control. It makes ITB mixing quicker and more fun too.
