THANKS FOR WATCHING! Link for essay review in my bio! By the way I forgot to announce I AM ALMOST MONETIZED! THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT! I REACHED THE FIRST TIER (super chats and super thanks) but I think by next week I’ll be fully monetized!!!
associate studying with what makes you happy! i.e. since i love silly little drinks like matcha lattes and bobas, going to a cafe/boba shop to study and building that as a routine means i eventually build a mental association that studying = having fun drinks at a cafe = happiness, thus making me want to study thank you so much for your video and like truly the encouragement means so so much to me
I really love this!!!!! I often go get a boba when i need to do a study task i really don’t want to do to motivate myself. This is great advice :). And no thank YOU for ur comment!!! I am so happy this helps and u feel encouraged!!!
Here’s a tip that takes advantage of human psychology: do little things and build up. A lot of times people say that doing the big things first is better, and while that’s true for assignments and projects, it isn’t true for life in general. To get motivation to be productive, do a very small productive thing like going for a walk, making your bed, washing your face, etc. Small wins allow you to build up to bigger wins and allow you to start working. Most of the time that is the hardest part. From there, you make a routine and you can work without having to make the huge leap that humans are simply not made for.
Tips for productivity I'm not licensed to give: 1. Literally just think your decisions through rationally which only takes like a minute to do. I could work now or play now or do whatever, but think of how you'll deal with having made that decision. (This tip is comparatively ass compared to the next one) 2. Spam checkboxes. Break down even small tasks into like 8 checkboxes, which become hella addictive to check off. Open tab? Check. Write two sentences? Check. Everything becomes so much easier this way (do it on paper for bonus effect)
Thank u so much!!! I totally feel that first one. RANT but I was reading a Reddit thread about someone who didnt want to get some sort of check up done bc they were scared and another commenter was like “yeah. Being sick and dying young are always an option.” Like yes we can always give up and just push something off but there will be consequences and I think it is better to think about decisions in that matter because it encourages like ACTUALLY confronting the consequences of your decisions rather than just saying like Oh ill just wait five minutes to start or something. And the second one is such a good tip I just made a to do list and i added stuff i already completed just so i could check it off LOL. Thank u for the tips!!!
What I found particularly stunning is the level of emotional intelligence that she demonstrated when she said, "I don't really think you owe them anything. Just be a nice person." It's one of the truest universal rules to me. Like, if I were in their place and I had kids, of course, I'd do everything for them to provide them with the best of everything. It's not something of a to-do thing or a loan, it's just something that would make me a responsible parent. Thanks for this enlightening talks. Please keep up your work. Your videos don't just provide students like us with priceless tips about college admissions but also beautiful advice on how to be a good person overall!
Omg thank you so much for your comment! I actually almost cut that section because I thought I Was going off on too much of a tangent… and yes. It is a perspective i think is easy to forget when you are stressed and feel like you want to give back to your family because of course you do!! But that is unfair stress to put on yourself. I really appreciate your comment. It means a lot to me that you took something from this that wasn’t just academics related but that you felt in an emotional sense too :)
I love the non-clickbait like videos, whereas most videos usually go along the lines of "Start a club extracurricular this that and get a 1600 SAT, and you'll get into an ivy", you actually give out more thorough info e.g. the the common dataset which seemingly almost no one refers to. Oh and for 0:48, Yale put the extracurriculars as "Very Important" for 2023-24 as with a tip for your your masters, but this goes for every level of education: this might just be me and it's so straightforward but please just do the hardest and most time consuming tasks first!!😭 My ADD also doesn't help but I've always had something with leaving the hardest tasks for last just because I think they're easy enough, and eventually just barely get it which just only feeds more into my procrastination :/ But considering how much time and energy goes into these videos, there's no doubt that you'll succeed
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you recognizing that!! And thanks for the tip RE Yale I haven’t had a change to review their common data set yet. Thank u sm for the tips too… i have ADHD and I. Have the same problem where i push off the most important tasks and never do them… in reality if i just spent two hours on it every other day for a week i would be fine…….. ADD and ADHD are soooo difficult to deal with sometimes. But i think once we develop mechanisms we will be unstoppable. I really appreciate ur kind words about my videos have a great day !!!
I just wanna say that your videos really resonated with me like idk ur super concise and direct and it helped me have a direction with my apps and feel more confident so thank you so much 😭
This comment is so sweet!!! Thank you so much. I am so happy I made you feel that way!!! Please continue to have confidence in yourself and your app as you continue!! :)
Personally, I make myself take timelapses every time I study or work. Not only do I feel the pressure to lock in bc i’m on camera, but it is soooooo satisfying to watch back the timelapse and see all the work you did. You have to lock in bc you don’t want to watch that back and see yourself doing nothing 🙈
Also for productivity tips, a few of my favorite productivity youtubers are Ali Abdaal, Ruri Ohama, and Amy Wang. I think one of the main takeaways I've taken from them that has stuck with me is that the reason I am studying hard right now is because I want to do my future self good, and that I care about myself enough to focus on myself and reach the potential I have :) Also for studying tips, abandoning the traditional note-taking style and maneuvering into flashcards/ anki has not only saved me so much time but has also made my studying so much more efficient.
I'd recommend mnemonic devices, especially if you make them yourself. I'm taking AP Spanish right now, and using mnemonics and a practice Knowt, I was able to memorize 105 vocab words in 4 days, studying less than 8 total hours. :)
You gotta be my favourite youtuber when it comes to information about applying to college.❤ Quick question: I apply from a country in which schools don't offer no IBs and APs and all those goodies. Do I still have a chance in an ivy as an international student?
Yes… if you can self study and take the AP tests online or at a testing center that would be helpful but actually based on your last comment i am going to make a video about applying to US schools as an international student so I’ll have more info then too!
5b is definitely one of my priority concerns right now. I want to study bioengineering/premed and go to medical school, so I am praying for comfortable tuition, financial aid, or merit scholarships to carry me financially during undergrad and not suffer too much debt-wise in medical school.😶🌫
Yo by national competitions would a non-academic but major/interest specific competition count. For example I have qualified for and placed in multiple software development, web design, and robotics comps. Would these still be good even though they aren't academic, but they are still my passions.
Alr thanks, that's refreshing to hear lol. When most people talk about competitions, they usually reference Olympiads, but my school doesn't have them, and I never got into them.
Idk if you are able or willing to answer this but I have a 3.8 and that’s like fine but the issue is that on the individual grades scale, I have several Cs so I’m wondering if that’s going to make me rejection material or not?
@@CollegeChingu there is a little issue… there not. I got them in junior year in some of my DE classes. Only in the DE classes tho, but they were also both in Chem (one was CS) one was Italian. I’ll be graduating with an associates degree in biology which is great for me but I’m still worried yk yk

Hi there can I get into Harvard with no Sat whilst other parts of app is strong
