So so fortunate to have seen bon scott. 1 powerade tour show & 15 highway to hell shows Friends and I went from Boston to south Carolina in the summer of 1979.. Best summer of my life.
Bon was awesome. Met him in 79 at a show in Kansas City Uptown Theater. Bon came out to our table 3 times during show and invited us to after party. Best night ever!
Wow Cool! way back in the 70s We had a band called Refuge that played the "basement" at the Agora, I saw this show live. One night we were playing in the basement it got so loud the Agora staff came downstairs and told us to turn it down! LoL Tiny went over to his Marshall Stack and cranked it up to max volume. They couldn't argue with the crowd so they left LoL
This frickin' band was the soundtrack to my Southern California days growing up in San Diego, California ( None Other). I'm 56 now and still hoping she keeps that , Jack !!!!
Hello Clive, You have been posting quite a lot on theunit community page. Clive Taylor-Sholl Nope, it hasn't come through. I don't know why and Rick is away at the moment and cannot check it out as he has no internet access. Perhaps you can ring me on the telephone.
I am having a video conference with Rick tomorrow evening (tuesday) at around 7.30. If you are interested and are available, I can try to bring you in on a hangout to join the conversation.
It was Kiss. Saw them in Indianapolis in !977 Market Square Arena . Bon Scott carried Agnus on his shoulders playing guitar around the 6th floor sidewalk around the arena. AWESOME.
They were just breaking into the US scene at the time I met Bon at the convention center John Cougar, Mike Stanley and AC DC and one more act I can't remember who it was but Bon was walking towards me and said I had nice t its and it was over became good friends and they came to Cleveland a lot!!!
Unfortunately Peter , I do not finish work until then. But I retire in 6 weeks and will have plenty of time on my hands to assist in any way I can, from then onwards. I believe you already have my email and mobile number as I left in with someone in your office last week. Thank you for the offer as I would of loved to be in on it. If I can rearrange my schedule, I shall let you know asap.
I guarantee it's in standard tuning but the poor recording makes it sound off. They only used an alternate tuning once, for the song "It's a Long Way to the Top", but after they quit playing that song live, they always used standard tuning just so they wouldn't have to re-tune between songs.
The first few gigs that AC/DC played The Jack live Bon would point out each and every lass in the crowd that had the dreaded social disease according to Malcolm & Angus. As Bon pointed each of them turned and ran to the exits in shame and horror.

To me that intro sounds like something Black Sabbath would play. It's awesome. AC/DC, Bon Scott era, is my all time favorite rock band.
The best version of this track! Blues / rock
I so fucking agree.....
Angus's vibrato is to die for
Best version EVER....
Singing about gonorrhea bon's such a badass to say the least

I think it is a reference to a Alex Harvey song called "Next". Bon was a big fan.

This was Angus’s best solo performance on this song of any version.
AC DC numer 1ok
How the hell does Angus get that 'infinite' sustain?
Feedback
He’s on a pedal I’d say.
Tiny F***in" Fingers !!!!
dont forget controlling the vibrato
No@@thesausage351
Do a guitar cover of this version
Sweet as feck.
❤😂
I didn't think they were popular enough in America in 1977 to tour. Were they someone's opening act?
They were an "opening act" even on the Highway to Hell tour in the US (for most of it), but yeah, they first toured the US in late '76 or '77.
Could have been KISS

who said "empty hole"?
Probably angus
Are they playing it in A# or are my ears off? 🤣
No. Your ears are right. It's playing in D rather than E but may be the recording as it's always been in E as far as I recall.
sounds tuned down a half step

May have been easier for Bon
to sing every night.
ROCKON.
