I own this gun, and it's amazing!!!! I'm well over 3,000 rounds now, with ZERO problems. 8 different types of "bulk" ammo, and I STILL can't get it to jam. Very comfortable, very accurate, and the trigger, and reset are perfection. I shoot this gun more than anything I own. It's THAT GOOD! Taurus has been killing it for the last few years now. Gun snobs are missing out...
It's been a year. How have the plastic magazines held up? Are the sights still holding zero? I normally find ammo related failures. Have you found any gun related ones since you're 3k rnds?
Agree Jamie, the barrel issues are past history. Its really a great gun as its grip / handling / weight make it a pleasure to shoot. Mine is black with a Deep Red Wine lower half. Love the way it shoots. Own a Ruger SR22 that I like because of its smaller size. Both are really great semi auto pistols in 22LR. I shoot both at the range back to back & both are very reliable. Ammo is Remington hollow point Golden Bullets 36 grain 1280 fps / Browning hollow point 36 grain 1085 fps very few problems for cheap target shooting. Fun guns to target shoot.
I purchased mine last month Sept 2024. Polished the feeding ramp, cleaned and took it to the Range. It performed flawlessly with fmj and hollow points. I purchased a speed loader from Amazon and it helped me a lot. I am a left hand amputee and own a few guns. I love this gun, shot around 350 rounds with no issues. My carrying gun is a Kimber Ultra Carry II 45. Love it also. Very accurate.
Oh, you Taurus haters... I took my kids to the range and demonstrated my TCP 738. They were like, *"Dad, you kept shooting through the same holes!"* It's my EDC and I rely on it. I love this TX22 and plan to get one soon! Thanks for the review.
Bought this pistol as soon as I saw one in a gun shop after the announcement at SHOTSHOW. I don't care about all the idiots that have never fired Taurus handguns that badmouth them. It only tells me how ignorant they are. I was a gun dealer for almost a decade and only once had to send a gun back to the plant. And Taurus covered the problem. Anyways, right out of the box the box put the first magazine all in a coffee cup at a state range with a game warden watching. Since it was at 50 yards, she walked over and asked what the pistol was. I showed it clear and several others came over. My sister and 3 others ended up firing it without any failures to fee, fire or extract. As soon as available, I'll be getting a few more mags and a can for it. Great job Taurus, you too Justin
I've owned Taurus handguns for years and never had any trouble with them other than finding extra magazines and that's why I sold the ones I had. Taurus makes some very good weapons but not being able to get magazines is a real down fall for me.
@John Ham Oh golly I have not seen all the other reviews...poor me..I guess my 30 years experience and the fact that I see hundreds of guns come through a gunsmith shop weekly doesn't mean much. For what you pay for this turd you could get a used police trade Glock that is still good for 100K rounds more......so buy your crap Taurus--a sucker born every minute.
T T I own 3 Taurus handguns, and they are nothing short of perfection. Gun snobs would rather pay triple the price for a name brand gun, that won't function, just so they can have a cool conversation piece around their peers. I think it's hilarious. LOL. "Hey, man. I bought me a Sig P365. I can't get thru a whole mag without a jam, but aren't you jealous"? LMAO. Americans are consumer driven fools. The higher something is priced, the more they gotta have it. Retailers laugh, as they play them for idiots. I'm approaching 2,500 rounds, with ZERO malfunctions. ZERO!!!!!! The TX-22 is the real deal. Gun snobs are missing out.
Thanks for your great review of the Taurus TX22. The 16 round magazine capacity was the first feature to catch my eye. After noticing that I noticed a good number of positive reviews and purchased one at a good price. I have a good number of Taurus firearms the first being a PT99 made in 1986 that I purchased in the mid 90s. Since then I've acquired 3 Taurus revolvers and several of their pistols. All have given me excellent service; reliable and accurate. I'm eager to put my new TX22 through its paces.
Agreed. Dustin is a no BS reviewer. His positive view of the Ruger SR22 is what anchored my choice on that. (I must note that has proven to be an outstanding little pistol. Now I'm paying this Taurus attention my wallet will likely regret.
Very nice review. Love the camera work. I bought this pistol yesterday June third. I didn't know it existed until a few days ago and decided right away to buy one. Today I did. This is the sweetest firing pistol I've had yet! I've owned countless handguns over the years and this one shines compared to any. I put about 100 rds of cci mini mags, hp and 40 grain ball down ammo range without a single problem. I could go on and on about the attributes of my new Taurus but the OP of this video did it for me. I couldn't agree more with his very thorough review and well stated opinion. This is an excellent pistol. Period! MJC
Thanks for doing this review. I know I am one of the guys that aksed you to do it. I've been waiting for this review to come out. This gun has gotten many great reviews but I like the way you reviews things and think you are both fair and detailed in your comments. This gun looks like a serious winner. I got to get mine soon.
I've had mine for about 2 years now and it is pretty much a tack driver . It was worth the 300 bucks I gave for it . I enjoyed your review, keep them coming.
People love to hate on Taurus, but they are innovators, i.e. The Judge, The Curve, and this new TX with 16 round mags in a .22 pistol. Thanks for the video, so, did you like it? 😋
The Raging Bull and the new Raging Hunter with aluminum shroud with a rail built in for a scope and stainless steel internal barrel, are both innovative for their initial introductions.
Very well stated. I agree 100%. I bought mine today. I also bought two G2cs in two months and couldn't be more pleased with their performance. 100 % reliable and far more accurate than me. MJC
Nice review. It was reviews like this that helped me make up my mind about this pistol. I walked in to my dealer yesterday, and walked out with this and 500 rounds of CCI standard velocity for $305.00. I immediately went to my personal range and went through 100 rounds with no problems. This is a great every day shooter.
New subscriber here. I bought the tx22 yesterday, so I was very happy to hear your positive review. You have a great style and delivery. Thank you for an enjoyable review!
I picked one up at a store and as soon as I held it I was amazed. When I 1st shot it I was in aw and giddy. I wasn't even on camera and acted like this. The guns amazing. I'd love a 9mm with this grip, control and reliability.
I’ve had one of these for a couple of weeks. Justin’s opinion matches mine. This gun is so much fun, and the trigger is excellent. I have many 22’s and this one has taken a leap to the top of the list. I do recommend using the mag loader, as it seems easier to keep the ammo as far to the back of the magazine as possible, plus saves on the fingers a bit. The only failures I’ve had were when the ammo didn’t seem to be back in the mag enough, and it jammed on the feed ramp, but this only happened with a couple of hollow points. If Taurus could match the characteristics os the TX-22 in a 9MM pistol, they couldn’t make enough of them! Great review, Justin!
Just want to say upon completion.. your filming is top notch with no other. Some may consider this for self defense, but to me, as reliable as it is I wouldn't be afraid to ward off with this firearm and good placement. Odds are high the TX will stay close to home or truck and another will accompany me into the public and higher risk area's where PD is more of a possible threat. If Taurus can follow this line into their next generation of higher caliber pistols it could be a game changer for me with them working toward Glock and Smith reliability and QC. Thank you
Thank God Taurus pulled their head out and started caring about quality again. I love this 22 and it runs flawlessly and very accurate.. thanks Taurus it's about time!
Picked one up for 260 plus tax last week. I have mostly big bore pistols so a 22 lr had to be special for me to even consider buying it. Once I handled the TX and looked it over, I bought it. Excellent ergos and the controls are very easy to use. Easily the best taurus I've ever owned. the G series is alright but nothing like the TX in quality and design
I love mine, I purchased the wing man +5 mag extensions and 2 more mags. Now I have to buy 22lr all the time. I've got a monkey on my back. Recently purchased the tandem cross eagle eye sights for it and they took it to the next level. Great review. Thankyou and God bless
I have one on the way. I do not anticipate any regrets as I have not regretted my hi point 380ACP carbine. While I will most definitely not jump on the bandwagon of all models by Taurus and Hi Point being flawless, I give credit where it is due. I love my hi point carbine. I love the reviews and specs that I have seen on this Taurus. It will be my first Taurus handgun as well as the first gun that I have ordered that I have never seen in person and held first. I am hoping my wife will enjoy shooting it as I had her in mind when I heard that it is lightweight. If it does not fit her hand I guess I will need to keep it. If it does maybe buy another. win/win.
I bought 1 in June at my local store $343 with tax. I also bought 2 10rd mags. I put a box of shells in at a time. 15x2 and 10x2. I love this gun. It has worked with all the ammo I've tried. I want the exact same fun now in .40sw.
They seriously need to do a style design of the 9 mm platform to look like this gun it is very sharp and it looks like a good training pistol for someone you're introducing into shooting
Thanks! Appears Taurus hit this one out of the park, and may be on their way to "greatness". It will be my next gun purchase. Can't wait for the 9mm version!
It would be wonderful if Taurus can keep this thread into their next generation of firearms. Step up the QC and they could attract a whole new following group

Excellent video. I JUST bought a TX22 for what I think is an amazing $169.99 net after $50 rebate from Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore. I spent almost as much on 8 extra 16-rnd mags for a total of $136.87 (including shipping) from GunPro Deals (I too hate reloading mid-shooting). I'll be adding it to my 9mm & 40 S&W Taurus G2C's, as well as my 5 other "big name" way, way more expensive pistols. I just can't resist a bargain price on quality tools. I bought the TX22 for the young 'uns, and to have a little inexpensive fun myself. Shooting 380's, 9's, 40's & 45's can get expensive. I'm thinking of getting the Lakeline plate to mount an inexpensive Chinese RMR. So if anyone has any experience with this, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Same goes for the Lakeline Fiber Optic Sight for the TX22.
Hello fellow gun owners... I own The Taurus G2c in 9mm and LOVE it. I am going to buy the G2s in 40 S&W for myself, and the TX22 for my wife and daughter so that they can get into guns and go to the range with me. Personally, I don't care if you don't like Taurus, as I don't buy a gun Based on your opinions.
Love mine. It's crazy, for me it has the best ergonomics of any of the guns I own except my full-sized Walthers. Mine doesn't like Thunderbolt ammo (could be a mag issue - I'm going to test more today) but does fine with everything else I've thrown at it. I too find it easy to shoot and accurate enough for a plinking/training gun. I do enjoy its light weight and ease of shooting especially when training one handed/support hand shooting. It's also nice size-wise to use as a draw and fire trainer since it emulates the size of larger caliber carry compacts. And the sights, altho plastic and sorta small and dull work OK. I painted my front sight dot day glow orange for ease of pick up tho. One word of caution: I had to tighten both the front and rear sights down after my first session with it. And I'd have liked metal mags. The plastic mags don't inspire confidence. Thanks for the review. Oh, and the trigger! Very nice. If Taurus would/could upscale this a bit for a 9mm or .40 and still keep the price nice, I'd likely be all over it.
Thanks man! I know I reviewed my new TX 22 and I noticed the grip and after firing the first mag I was already impressed and it ate through my trash bulk ammo! I don’t blame you! Huge thumbs up for me!
I think I'm going to get one of these. The reason I am considering it is because I broke my right wrist going on 2 months ago and I haven't been able to shoot anything at all, unless I am practicing non-dominant hand skills. I'd like to have something I can shoot with my right hand, even if it is .22LR, and this doesn't really break the bank.
We saw three of these guns today at three different shops. At one shop it was $400. It was the model with the silver etching or whatever that stuff is and a small shop that does not buy in volume. We then saw it a Field And Stream...all black...for $350. We ended up purchasing it at Academy for $299. The only downside is finding extra mags. Impossible.
I’ve been wearing out my m&p22, and wanted a new range gun. Really torn between this and the glock44. About 15 reviews later I’m ending here and picking up the tx22 Tuesday.......paid 269$ plus tax april2020
@@kerrmoney damn that sucks man, sorry to hear. I've heard a few others mention the barrel issue. What's the problem with it? I'm not in a hurry, but I was thinking about picking 1 up at some point cause I think it would be a great training tool for my girl, but don't have the $ to waste on a dud
A really great review. I stole my TX22 for $169.95 (with rebate) and I really like it as well! It's not a tack-driver like my High Standard Supermatic but it's a great plinker and training gun.
MCFadden has a lightning grip speed loader that has an adapter for loading the TX22, I have one and it makes reloading the mags so easy and quick, love it...
So this video should be call first few hundred 🤣, glad you liked it. Watch the video, liked the video, trust your opinion, ordered the gun thanks for the review boss 😊
I wish the manufacturer of the 22 pistols would use the magnum round instead of the long rifle that way I could used it as a CCW and not just a plinker nice video,I like this gun a lot toss up between the Taurus and pcm 30
I'm loving this one so far. The barrel rifling did seem to come apart a bit after the first couple hundred rounds but they're sending me a replacement. SO FUN TO SHOOT!
It's also a great host for a can, the only thing not covered in the review. CCI standard shoots great at $25 for 500 rounds and the boys and I shoot in the yard all day without disturbing the neighbors. Its a good buy.
Thanks for the good news.. again. One is enroute. The OCD person that I am I'll be loading just 3 rows/15 rounds to keep my boxes neat! LOL!! Happy w/ that over the Beretta Bobcat 21a [8] and M&P22c [10]
I tried it at my local FFL. It's a good shooter but I don't like the Walther Style expanded "Dogleg" or Hump in the grip. The Ruger SR22, although it has a much better Walther P99-P22 V1 "Dogleg", it is located in the correct place and is much more ergonomic and much more comfortable. IMO. :>)

Taurus is a winner with the new anti-gravity mag fed design. :)

I have the Taurus G2C and I am impressed by the workmanship. Perhaps I will buy the TX22 for home protection..
Nice review! I found one at Sportsman Outdoor Supercenter for
I bought this yesterday for $249! This is a steal right now for a HIGHLY impressive pistol.
Well done video appreciate the close-ups at the end always like to get a good look at the Gun in question . Hopefully a 9 mm version in the future
styer m9a1 looks similar
anyone notice how consistent that ejection pattern is?
OC Nonaurbusiness it’s a lot like the G2C
Every taurus I own has a very nice and consistent ejection pattern.
Thanks man! I know I reviewed my new TX 22 and I noticed the grip and after firing the first mag I was already impressed and it ate through my trash bulk ammo! I don’t blame you! Huge thumbs up for me!
Justin...Great review.... The sound of the pinging is awesome. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎
Looks like an awesome gun, I just purchased one for $249.00 from Gunbuyer! can't wait to shoot it! Awesome video!
Yeah, I’m gonna need one of these soon. 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
I open carry Willy tx22 and I like the way he holds on your side it is very comfortable carrying it
I think I'm going to get one of these.
Impossible.
Thank you for the great uploads. Nice Firearm.
I've had one for quite a while. Love it.. shoots great
Impressive review, I subscribed after it!
I think I would like this a lot more than my sr22.taurus maybe really turning a corner.
I like the SR and have one but more expensive than the Taurus at my gun store. I love the Taurus 22
Thinking about buying two of these to go into survival kits, over my SR22's.
Why would this have above the sr22? Surely not long term durability
I like Eric Bana's line in Blackhawk Down.."This is MY safety, sir..."
Very in-depth review as usual. I definitely use the little mag loader too. Those magazine tabs are a bear to use. Keep up the great video.👍
I really like mine and it is OD Green!
I’ve been wearing out my m&p22, and wanted a new range gun. Really torn between this and the glock44. About 15 reviews later I’m ending here and picking up the tx22 Tuesday.......paid 269$ plus tax april2020
Update the one I bought has a defective barrel.... FML....buyer beware.... Taurus still sucks, so does their customer service!!
Thanks for this video. I am thinking about this for a Pistol trainer for my kids.
Nice review. I have been looking at this gun for a while.
Most Excellent review & big mag capacity makes it even better ! Glad I sub'd while back TY ;)
Thanks for subbing!
From box to the range, this review is fantastic! I have a bronze slide version on the way, and can't wait to get my hands on it!
A really great review. I stole my TX22 for $169.95 (with rebate) and I really like it as well! It's not a tack-driver like my High Standard Supermatic but it's a great plinker and training gun.
Good review. I've held it, and agree. Feels good. Your review. Will get me to go buy it. Thanks
"feels good".....so does jerking off...either way a world of losers...Taurus junk
Wish Taurus would make a 9mm that looks like the TX22.
GX4
The G3 is close! Same size, same sights. Even fits the G3 holsters
I like mine Justin it’s a sweet shooter thanks for the video
Thank you for the info and great video 👍🏼
Taurus out of the park!
MCFadden has a lightning grip speed loader that has an adapter for loading the TX22, I have one and it makes reloading the mags so easy and quick, love it...
It's got the looks of a CZ / Walther love child....
Feels like that in the hand too
I just bought one today.....Hope mine runs like yours!!
Excellent review, thanks. Liked and subscribed.
Thanks!
Liked within the first 5 seconds.
I’ve been wanting this pistol for awhile now myself
Great video. Trying to figure out a reason to buy one.
I've always found, "because I don't have one", to be a great reason! ;-) But then I have an addiction...
It's also a great host for a can, the only thing not covered in the review. CCI standard shoots great at $25 for 500 rounds and the boys and I shoot in the yard all day without disturbing the neighbors. Its a good buy.
paid $200 for mine with no manual safety, got 2 mag extensions so its now 19+1 and have a comp on the end
Good video; Thanks. Too many commercials. Less commercials equals more viewership.
What a fun little pistol.
Thanks for the good news.. again. One is enroute. The OCD person that I am I'll be loading just 3 rows/15 rounds to keep my boxes neat! LOL!! Happy w/ that over the Beretta Bobcat 21a [8] and M&P22c [10]
I'm going to buy this gun. Nice video.
Niceee! Just got one today Taurus REALY HAS Changed For the Better😊
IMO. :>)
