    I set up the Active Aqua 1/4 HP chiller with an inline pump from Danner, and after it worked just fine, neither will turn on. There is water in the entire system and I'm at a bit of a loss for how to trouble shoot.

    Do you think you could do this setup inside? I have a small finished out storage room in my garage that is heated/cooled that I have a treadmill in. Would you worry too much about leaking and just put in garage?

    Hey, just setting everything up as there was no need for the chiller in Connecticut through the winter. I ordered everything strictly through the links you shared (much appreciated!). As I unboxed everything I realized I was short (Barrell 300) the top hole adapter (1" barb tip) and the "o-rings" aka stainless steel hose clamps were far too large for the hose. Not sure if it was your links provided OR some idiot packaging my order..either way just a heads up..As always thanks for the great content!

    Great video with details and parts. I'm curious how many times your chiller cycles to keep the water at temp during the day. I just picked up my Ecoplus Commercial 1hp and it has a 2 degree offset setting. I'm hoping to limit the amount of cycles as it's less wear and tear on the compressor.

    Hi David, to clarify at 8:50 min, we connect our garden hose to the top inner hole of the barrel and force water through the 'out' pipe? If so, how long do we do this for? Thanks again, your videos have helped tremendously to say the least & I have ordered the 1/4 active aqua for this DIY!

    • @DavidMausJr
      @DavidMausJr  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      YES. Sorry been traveling. This just pushes water into your pipes and the pump. You dont want the pump to be on "dry". So just do it until you see water coming out of the other side. You can also do this from the bottom hole, the top is just easier to reach.

    Quick question. I just ordered the Ice Barrel 300 and wanted to know which would be the best chiller option. I live in Florida like you, I’m in Gainesville. I was thinking the 1/2 active aqua as the option I’m going for. But I ahve also seen you use the 1 HP. I know that will be double the power, but would 1/2 HP be enough? I am looking to get temps in mid 40 degree range and I will keep it in an air conditioned metal building on my property.

    Important: All ports on the Ice Barrel 300 are 3/4 NPT (not GHT). Several of Dave’s kits include GHT threaded adapters that do not fit the Ice Barrel 300. Using those GHT adapters will result in damaging the threads on the Ice Barrel.

    • @DavidMausJr
      @DavidMausJr  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the heads up. For reference, i agree with you however the pieces i have in the kits are exactly (after trial and error) what I am using and there are zero issues. I have updated all the kits for the 300 and they have both options. If you want to go with NPT to NPT exclusive, they are the brass options in the kits.
