    I’m glad you got to visit LaConner. Great little town that I had forgotten about since I moved away in 1996.
    Smoked salmon was delicious there as well.
    Love the view at the end!

      Thank you Ram! We fell in love with the town, and being able to walk only a half mile from our marina campsite was an added bonus.

    Been in/out of La Conner rv park past few months. I am a fan (dog too). Here now, stuck waiting for 20 to reopen, so I too can get back to boondocking while heading toward CDA, ID. Looking forward to your next episode.

    Lovely area! I enjoyed the museum tour. I believe the pattern on the quilt is called Turn Dash. I loved that old Westinghouse!!

    What a cool and quiet town on the water. Reminds me of Sausalito in the bay area. Except a lot cheaper I would think. Thanks Don

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most definitely much cheaper! 😁 We had never heard of the place, and booked it just because we needed something for a few nights after leaving Whidbey Island, so we really felt like we had discovered something.

    WE'RE HEADED UP THE OREGON COAST IN A FEW DAYS. WE'VE REDUCED OURSELVES TO RV PARK CONSUMERS FOR THE TRIP, BOONDOCKING OPPORTUNITIES ANY WHERE NEAR THE OCEAN, OR LARGE BODY OF WATER, IS PRETTY MUCH NONEXISTENT

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're correct, PeeWee, which is how we found ourselves in campgrounds along the coast. We had to turn back inland in order to get back to boondocking, beginning with the next episode. Wishing you a wonderful trip and safe travels!

    Thanks for coming to beautiful La Conner. I have lived in this area for 48 years, yet you still managed to show me things I have not yet seen. Also of note, they do have a pretty nice Thousand Trails campground here, as well.

      We absolutely adored this town, MTL. It was one of Mrs. GA's favorite stops this season. Albeit rather small, the museum's exhibits were exceptionally well done.

    Yes La Conner is nice but it's a stretch for an on townvernight stay when better choices are near by. It's an ok base camp at a good enough price point too. This is coming from a guy that just stayed 3 nights in Booth Bay Maine. It was all shopping with little green space in town... Bill

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We came to La Conner from our previous stop on Whidbey Island, Bill. I've got to respectfully disagree, though -- we thought La Conner was a positively wonderful destination in and of itself.

    Have recently discovered your channel and my wife and I are enjoying watching your videos. We noticed you speak in the first-person plural but it's usually just you on the camera. We were wondering if it's just you or do you travel with someone? Thanks.

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for coming along, Allen! I travel with my wife and Labrador, but my wife is adamant about not appearing on camera. You can still get an occasional glimpse of her sometimes in the background when I catch her off guard. 😁

    The correct pronunciation is Swi-nomish. The o isn’t the star. It’s not SwinOmish

    Like any place, learn to pronounce our tribal name correctly. Swin-o-mish, not swi-no-mish

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      Like every local name, we're guaranteed to mispronounce it.

    • @jodyhouser4785
      @jodyhouser4785 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GrandAdventure like so many tribal names, they have different emphasis on pronunciation. It is worth the respect and consideration to learn correct pronunciation in ANY adventure you're doing. You obviously have spent time there, not difficult to learn correct pronunciation.
