For real, the putts he had that spit out were what I could consider amazing putts, no fault of his and happened enough to him to cost the win. Really bad.
@HenryBrewer1 I didn't see Ricky have one spit out...different style baskets means you have to adapt your putt...I think it adds a new challenge...Issic can be very one dimensional with his putting...
@@draggonwagon8444 this is the most insane take i've seen regarding bad baskets. ¨Issic can be very one dimensional with his putting¨ IT SHOULD NOT MATTER HOW YOU PUTT IT IF IT'S FLAT DEAD CENTER AND NORMAL SPEED. If a basket regularly spit out dead center putts, nose down or up does not matter the basket is shit. Only outside factors should dictate nose angle like wind and low sealing, not the fucking basket. Also the spitouts had nothing to do with nose angle. The chains net construction makes it very bouncy on top of having heavier chains, did you not hear pauls experiment? He pressed the disc into the pole and let go and the chains spit it out, THAT'S BAD. Rickys went in because he putts hard and isac does not. We still need standardized baskets though.
I agree there should be standardization of tees and baskets but, at the end of the day, all the players are using the same equipment. Unless there is a safety issue with the tees that can be rectified, not much will change, I think. All the other variables that dictate any differences in how the baskets and tees perform for individual players are uncontrollable, and just part of the game.
It’s one specific thing with prodigy baskets that causes the issue, the three sets of square chains holding the inner chains together which no other baskets that I’ve seen have. These baskets have the most spit outs of any of the baskets on tour. But I can say that having watched the event in person some of the FPO tee pads looked scuffed (which is an understatement). Otherwise I get that they all have to deal with it, just think that it seems to be that one aspect of the prodigy baskets that cause these spit outs.
@@naimk5002 I understand that. It's Prodigy's problem then, not the tours. Contracts and financial interests likely prevent a complete change in standardized baskets.
It's hard to believe how many people complain about this track when it produces some of the most watchable live disc golf on the tour. Great recap. Cheers! 🍻
I don’t agree. Baskets don’t make your putting style.. unless there is a drastic difference like a precision basket. The difference is the heights.. if there where all different baskets but same height then you would see everyone putting the same.. thats why standard baskets are important to keep consistency but they should all have height differences
@@moisesquinteros8208 no sir.. chain layout is different, making some baskets catch high putts better, some fast, some slow, some low, etc.. no matter the height, its all about choosing a putt with the appropriate speed, placement, and angle for the basket being played.
Unfortunately that is what makes the game frustrating for a lot of pro and not consistent like how they want.. consistent doesn’t mean they will all put the same.
@@moisesquinteros8208 if you standardize heavy chains to catch faster putts, then it will reject slower putts and everyone will putt like gannon buhr.. i hate to lose the variety in the game
I followed AB's card through #4 on Sunday. On 4 he launched a way above trees rocket flex anhyzer that floated down to ideal position to the pin. On 9 he did an extreme spike hyzer over the small lake when everyone else was doing regular sane hyzers to the basket. On 14, I think, he went for the basket off the fairway with a huge over the treetop bomb which made it, the others had 200 or so to the basket after their shots. Was he playing to the huge MN crowd ? I don't know, but jaws dropped for sure.
Oh my god, quit complaining. It’s literally always something wrong. Blah. Blah blah. The tee pads are the same for everyone, be a professional. The baskets are the same for everyone, be a professional. The tee shot is 18 throws. The rest are on natural surfaces, wherever you land, same for everyone. Be a professional. Here is a new idea for professionals, just grow up and deal with it. Remember, everyone in the tournament is dealing with the same things. You can’t always want to blame something exterior for the fact you didn’t play as well you wanted. Make adjustments, be a professional
Spit outs are just part of the game, deal with it. Tournaments are so poorly run, do you really think they will put effort into switching out baskets for an event? Wishful thinking. They can hardly get an online caddy book done in a years time.
Ok, so Prodigy Baskets SUCK. But if the DGPT only standardizes a 'The Better $500 Mousetrap' for the Tour, why should 99% of us care? It's Mach 3s and other 'barely even a frisbie catchers' that drive us to the bar. Any R.F.P. for a standardized basket should include the requirement to provide an affordable version for the rest of us.
Standardize the tee pads 1st! Player safety is #1. Then the baskets can be made by different manufacturers, but "Standardize" the consistency to which they are built. No need for the cross chains. That's just overkill & useless. The players are playing with the same baskets anyways so it's fair all around.
Regulation baskets and tee-pads please. Pros shouldn't be throwing from multiple different surfaces at the same event. It doesn't really matter what the pads are, just make them the same.
Why are tee pads that important when it's only the first shot of the hole? Ball golf tees are flat and level grass. The other 2,3,4,5 shots are wherever they land. Get rid of the concrete tee pad. The tee box should be constructed of the same elements as the fairway.

I'm convinced that we don't actually need to standardize baskets. If we just banned Prodigy baskets that would solve the issue.
Yes! It’s as if they asked their engineers to design the perfect basket for rejecting discs.
Veteran baskets should be on the cut list too.
