- This film takes a look back into the rise of David Wiggins Jr. From young phenom to mythic distance thrower, find out why we never experienced the full potential of David Wiggins Jr. and
This film originally came out in 2022 on the DGPT youtube channel and DGN when I was a full time employee. I, along with 3 others was laid off by DGPT last August and I just wanted these all posted somewhere together. Thanks for watching!
Why were the four of you laid off?
Well thank you for reposting this! I avoid dgpt content at all costs...I would've never seen this.
These are incredible thanks for sharing
Awesome to see him doing well. I feel like you can't really tell the story of DG without DW, but, like many others, he was too early to benefit much from the boom it is now (and growing), or become a major face to the newer generation of players. We see what he's throwing now in distance contests and, while it is impressive, when he was doing it originally, it was an exclusive club. Now there are many players throwing well over 500', and people are competing from all over the world. Such amazing growth in the sport. I'm happy to see him still showing up here and there so everybody can get to know his story and his place in DG history.
Next time I'm in New Orleans I'm booking a charter with Dave & goin disc golfing! The 2 best things to do on a weekend. 👍
Hum Brah! During migration, our courses are great to combine birding with disc golf. Nice to see a couple of our local courses get some love. Cheers, David. Y'eard me!
Do you have docs on any other subjects? Not that you need to but I’d love the watch them.
Great video!!
Did that player said he has his 9mm on him while he’s playing?
Wiggy holds nothin' back, that's for sure! Thanks, Johnny!
There's something very special about watching a person do extraordinary things with a disc.
I am lucky enough to be friends with, and follow world champion, and 2x world distance record holder, 9-year-old Sarah Wadsworth's progress here in Christchurch, NZ. Her U9 distance record is longer than the boys' record. If I'm correct, then no human being has ever rotated their torso 180 degrees faster than Sarah, and she will continue to destroy every female distance record as she grows. Keep your eyes out for her scores during Am-Worlds in a few weeks time. I think she's the most exciting disc golfer in the world today.
These episodes are great. Thanks for posting!
thanks for these
I had no idea this was coming today and completely made my afternoon man!! Are there more in this series?
It's 2 years old
Great video 🙏🏼
Brilliant work, again! Similar documentary of Matty O would be amazing, if you still have the inspiration and budget to do these things on your own (I read the pinned comment before posting my own)
Was Wiggins the first one to win AM Nats and not go with the Discraft sponsorship?
Guess he never decided to do it.
I’ve always wondered why David took a break from his DG Career path. He’s always had a suitable game & talent to be successful as a touring pro imo ! I’d love to see him on coverage again.
Loving all the documentary videos. Great work.
Awesome! Another great disc golf documentary. Keep em coming! :)
I love this documentary but the last world record doesn't make any sense to me. Why would you have a world record during 95 mph winds? I went down to the park when it was super windy and I threw 609 ft. I throw 400 ft😂
The difference is your distance is only offical for You, his were in an organized competition with the current rules applied. I might never be beaten even in those conditions and he keep winning distance competitions. I would guess the next official competition for the actual world record will be with some rules for wind and slope applied, hopefully with less accuraccy than the latest ones since its hard to air it out fully. I have ZERO issues with his record being the max distance pre x and the next he sets the max distance after x. Keep hucking Wiggins! :)
@@Iliyena87 I completely get what you're saying and he's a beast. I'm just saying distance competitions should have no more than 5 mph wind and no more than 5 ft of elevation change. That way people can see how far you can really throw.
We need a new event for the record with some new rules minus accuraccy indeed! ;D
@@Nomadmattyhe can really throw 1108’
DWJR throwin BOMBS
Hell yeah!!!
Crazy how long it took to get this out. This footage is from 2022. Thanks for working hard on them and getting it to the viewers.

1108 ft, yeah with an absolute gale force wind behind him.
You can go throw there too
@@hamsamer I know I can. Is my comment incorrect?
@@coreydempsey4660 I mean we all saw the wind bud lol it wasn’t some technical breakdown
