Epic track. When it comes to prog rock, these guys were at the top of the heep.
Hensley and Kerslake passed away in 2020 RIP gentlemen.

@@thomassmith8721 One of my all time favorite bands. Columbia records, Yeah I remember pictures of Simon & Garfunkel greatest hits and the Rolling Stones (Sticky Fingers) in their Adds. Sweet Freedom & Demons and Wizards are great records & so is the one titled "Look at Your Self" actually all of em are good, I have about 9 albums by them, mostly on CD. this album was kinda mini opera or something, n this song is one of my favs from them, having lot of proge in it too. however i didnt think that kerslake wasnt in this track/album but was the one n only lol. seems that "weed" was done on same year, n overall this era was busy for heep. i think magician´s birthday was first full heep album i heard.. back in those days when libraries had physical records still lol. cheers.
The album "Salisbury" was recorded literally in a month (October-November) of 1970 and appeared on the shelves in February of the following year, 1971, in England, and in early March in the USA. In general, the album was named after the title track "Salisbury", and the cover featured photographs of tanks. Later, the musicians said that the cover was made without their participation and consent, and they were very unhappy with it. In addition, as Mick Box recalled, that year many were very impressed by Deep Purple's composition "April", which was also recorded with an orchestra and brought the group quite good dividends. Therefore, the 16-minute composition is a kind of answer to Deep Purple.

Great track from a great album
Uriah heep are one of my favourite bands
All their albums are great
I especially like Look at Yourself closely followed by Salisbury Demons and Wizards and Magicians birthday and their live album from 73 is a corker

Ive had this CD since I was 19...to this day at the ripe old age of 50, have never listened to the last 16 min track in full. So having listened to the whole thing finally, Im quite impressed. I guess my younger ears never had the patience to sit through the whole thing 😅

have you head of a band called “Heads Hands & Feet”? They were a British rock and rock band that formed in 1969 after the breakup of Poet and the One Man Band. They released 3 studio albums.
