    Thank you for showing this knife! My father carried this exact knife from the time I can ever remember. He said it was the best knife he ever carried and loved the stainless steel. He was a sheet metal contractor and commented to me more than once the benefits of stainless blades. Maybe that is why I'm so partial to Victorinox steel today. Thanks again Thrifty for the review. Jeff

    I have owned this knife for a couple years and love it. Well made, light, and easy to sharpen. You can do 90% of your EDC tasks with a knife this size so for $50 you get a great Case knife that will last a lifetime.

    In my opinion a Jack knife is definitely one that is hard to beat…… it has a serious following but got a smaller knife you can’t beat it……. Sharpen that blade that trusharp gets vicious sharp……. And I might add I absolutely love delrin I love the way it feels……. Thanks Thrifty you’ll like it I put mine in a slip quite a bit and carry it……. That is the exact knife the older gentleman used to carry!!!!!!😊

    I ordered one of these new. We will see how it goes; it has not arrived yet. I also ordered they're little camo caliber lock back with a plastic handle. I will have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the little case caliber was. No QC issues on it, very sharp, quality steel.

      @@ThriftyKaniffy I received the knife. Mine is of great quality. The factory edge was acceptably sharp, but I like mine to be really sharp. I ended up using a 400 grit diamond stone for an initial edge, then I stropped it. The Arkansas stone just could not do it. Not for me anyways. It did get really, really sharp. Mine is a 2024 model. The only quality issue I observed, was when the clip blade is opened, the back spring is a little raised. I will also note that it seems to have less blade stock on the clip than the model reviewed here. It's not as wide a blade? It is also possible mine has more of a hollow grind to both blades. Not a bad thing.

      @@ThriftyKaniffy your welcome, and I thank you as well You and your channel, Jersey knife guy, and Paddys potatoe peelers is what has got me back into slip joint / traditional pocket knifes. I loved playing and using my Fathers Old Slip joint knifes when I was a kid and now at 50 just turned on May 1st I'm all in. Just ordered a Few Case Sod Busters and I've purchased several other case knifes, and I've purchased a few of th Queen SawCut Bone knifes. I love watching all of you guys and your channel.I'm really into modern button locks and flippers, but they have nothing on these classic traditional knifes in my opinion. Late last night I ordered the Case Sod Jr buster Smokey Valley Sunset Autumn Bone in 1095 and I also picked up a few of the Rough Rider Slip Pouch's after watched your video on the different pouches. I might want too pick up a good Quality one someday maybe like a Richter or maybe a Hitch & Timber Carrier there around $25. But for now after several knife purchases especially the costs of the Case knifes $3 Per Rough Rider Slip Pouch fit the bill just right. So a Big Thank you and just to let you know that what you and they are doing are not going unnoticed, Thank You and have a very Blessed 🙏 Wed and week. Take care 😎👍

    I don’t know if it was the same exact model number, but I bought one of these in the early 2000s (I think it was a shepherd hills store in opry mills mall here in Nashville) and the craftsmanship was not good then. The scales were a matte black and flat in the sides with the bolsters, which had no shine to them. The blades were matte also with terrible grind marks. I have a black soddie jr in a toolbox or somewhere with the same blade materiel. Think they were called workmen’s. Never would sharpen right either. Idk if I lost it or someone walked off with it, but I wish I still had it to compare to something like that

    I thought it had some sort of lacquered wood scales at first glance, they're nicely done. Like to take a knife around this size out hiking in the summer, you can sit on the side of a hill eating your lunch and it's inoffensive to even the most soft in the head that can't mind their own business. I'd be very happy if it was this particular knife too.

      @ThriftyKaniffy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your thoughts, JK. This would make for a great summer carry I agree. Dunno about you, but I often wear much looser fitting clothes in the summertime and larger knives tend to flop around a bunch as such. Have a great day.
