- This video is an update on the gadgets I've added to my Hobie Pro Angler 14. Please watch this video in it's entirety because I have some important information in the end regarding kayak stake out poles. I would love some feedback from you guys. just wondering who would be interested so leave me a comment below so I can get the ball rolling. Enjoy the video and as always, remember, Fishing is Religious!
Brotha WOW!!!! What an awesome set up you have. You sold me on this one. I have been doing research and now I'm done. Thank you. Amazing video. Def keep the videos coming
methodman247 Thanks methodman
Dude, really enjoy your videos bud. Makes me feel better about how much time I spend tinkering with my pro angler. Keep em coming mate.
Hey Tony. Really enjoy your videos. Bought a new 2014 PA14 last month. Really enjoying it. Just ordered HF trailer like the one you have. Looks like it will be perfect for getting the PA wet. Beats hauling it up the boat ramp on the Hobie cart. Thanks for the great tips.
Congrads on your purchase warthog! Glad I could make it a little easier on ya! Hope you used that coupon when you ordered the trailer. Thanks for watching my vids! C'mon!
VentureTube Yes used coupon.Finished trailer build. Ready to go fishing. How often do you check/repack wheel bearings? Interested in what effect water is having on grease. Cleaned hubs and bearings and repacked with marine grade grease as suggested during assembly. Thinking about installing bearing buddy kit.
warthog6660 Bearing buddy would be a great addition. I always add a little grease to the bearings before a long trip, however, I only take the bearings out and clean the races about twice a year. Guess it really depends on how much you haul it. Just go by what it looks like when you disassemble it. Good luck fishing and thanks for watching!
Good review and a really nice setup. Tight lines.
I am drooling over that kayak, that is so mad, I would love to own one! Anyway, awesome video mate, I'm now a subscriber. You seem like a really nice kinda guy
+Jordan Voglsinger Thanks for the sub my man!
That's a real nice rig you got there, man.
Hey Marty! I have enjoyed your vids and the way edit them. Good stuff! Congrats on your new Hobie . Hope some of my ideas can help you out with yours. We have to do everything poor man style ha! Take care.
***** I know right! Small kayaking world out there I guess lol. Thanks for watching yarik!
😄
Man that's a wicked ass kayak! I'm in the market for a Hobie PA. I just cant seem to get over the price. I live in south Louisiana where there is plenty lakes, swamp and bayous to fish, camp and hike. Thanks for posting the videos. I cant wait to check out your other ones. if you have any ideas of where to find a reasonable priced hobie kayak please respond.
Daniel Cavalier Hi Daniel Thanks for watching my vids! PA's are expensive but you get what you pay for. Great customer service and a stable fishing platform second to none! Plus, they hold their value so when it's time to sell, you'll get a lot of return on your investment. Believe me, you won't regret it! My advice is to look on local kayaking forums and find one used with a lot of accessories. OR, you can always get on craigslist and look through the major cities close to you so you'll have more options. Hope this helps you out. Goodluck!
Ok thx for the response. im eager to get out a on the water.
dude you have the most awesome setup taht I seen on utube
Very Nice setup, well done!
Cool set up. I took my hobie mirage out for the first time a few weeks ago and a stake out pole was something that I immediately recognized the need for. If you're selling them now. Let me know. Thanks.
Vandy Bros. They are available at www.venturetube.net
great video mate I'm here in Australia and taken a few great ideas to put into my pa14
Awesome set up! Would love to see a video of your live well set up..........trying to make one like it. Thanks.
Chris Fagin Thanks Chris!
you sound like stone cold steve Austin. Love the vid
Good job very nice set up.
Kenny DeMent Thank you sir!
Great opening footage and lots of great mods. Judging by the dates of your videos, you've had this same Pro Angler for a few years now. How comfortable is that seat? I'm looking into buying a used one that's the same year as yours and I know Hobie upgraded the seat the following production year. Thanks in advance for a reply.
troutbum61 Thanks trout! You're right, I still have this yak and I've fished in this yak 22 hrs straight before. Bum never hurt at all. It's a great seat.
Beautiful set up! Great vid my man!
Marty Z Thanks marty!

I would take a stake pole, I like the fiberglass idea

Good Video Tony ....
I finally got together all of the parts to install the units rut to my trailer ....however...... Do not know the size/ length / type of bolt to attach the conduit to the Unistrut ???? I was able to get the "spring nuts" for the unistrut but need to know what you used to connect all together ???? THANKS
Very nice set up😁
Thanks! 😁
Have you had any progress on marketing your stakeout poles yet? Would be very interested in purchasing one. Thanks
Dave P Hi Dave! I am selling the VenturePoles now and they are available on my website.
www.venturetube.net
I finally got around to making a short video of them. Link below. Thanks for watching!
The VenturePole Stick N Fish! The best priced stake out pole available!
Did you have to relearn how to cast sidearm so you don't hit the rods in the holder with a back cast? I have been looking for a way to attach rods to the left side of my kayak so I can continue overhand casting. I wish I had the pro angler 14, but I'll have to find a way to make do with my smaller hobie model.
Well I didn't I have to "relearn" sidearm casting but to answer your question, yes if you were to use a back cast it would most likely get caught on your other rods in the holders. I prefer side arm casting over back casting anyway, just my preference. I can make a quieter presentation when using that cast. You may could try paddle clips to hold your rods on the side of your yak. Make sure to put rod floats on your rods if you're going to do this! I have a vid on that as well. The floats will probably help the rod have a tighter fit in the paddle clips if you go that route. Anyway, hope this helps. Tight lines!
Hi there I have a question for u btw sweet boat . I'm new to the Kayak for fishing and was looking into buying on like this actually the same year a 2012 with the old style seat not the 2013 version . U mentioned to another quote in here that suggest getting a 2013 model on Craig's list . Anyhow what do u think a 2012 is worth with a few upgrades .. Thanks .. 6 1 225 lbs
Sweet setup! What kind of trailer is it and do you tow it fully loaded like in the video?
***** It's a harbor freight trailer and I do not trailer it fully loaded. Thanks for watching!
whats a ball park figure on this type of set up with out the mods trailer kayak and the trolling motor awesome video as well
516Spark 2015 Pro Angler 14 is $3,200 I'd look on craigslist for a used 2013 or '14
Very very very nice. Smart!
How did you get those side boards? MadFrogGear only has a few vids and they don't show anything for Hobie as far as side boards. Thanks and tight lines!
***** Those side boards were on that kayak when I purchased it. I'm honestly not sure where they came from.. Sorry, I'm no help there..
@Roberto Morales: Sounds great man! Hit me up when you visit Lake Conroe and we'll tear em up!
Love your mods!
What type of battery do you use for the fishfinder, lights, and trolling motor?
Adam Calnan The batter I use for all of that is the big battery in the storage bin in front of the kayak seat. Its a Stowaway 12V 27 amp/hr mini portable trolling battery purchased from Academy.
Thank you
Thanks
hello the gripper you said you bought from academy ,,used for a dock anchor.. I cant seem to find it do you have a order # from when you bought it please thank you.

did u make ur own trolling motor? How much does it cost?
I build them for my customers. Check them out on my website at www.venturetube.net
I`m new to yak fishing ,the orange marker with line on it,why is that a must.
Serves as a reference point when fishing offshore.
VentureTube you can see that little thing floating from a distance??
yes. you're not really that far from it. 30 yards at most usually.
Where did you get the material to put on the inside of the front hatch?
It is a sun shade for a car windshield that I trimmed and glued inside the hatch. Thanks for watching!
Bad to the bone setup. Does all the weight affect the pedaling?
+Jonathan Trowbridge Slightly but not enough to make me not bring my gear. Obviously, the weight will make it harder to move, but it also makes it move less in the wind...C'mon!
I’m interested in your stake out pole. Can you give me some info please?
Wow !!! Are they really worth it though
516Spark IMO, YES!! Kayaks will get you on the water quicker, more often and much cheaper than a boat. Thats why I sold my bass boat.. I fish almost daily..This kayak has paid for itself just in gas savings. No carpet replacing, no gas, no oil, no storage fees, no break downs.. It's just simple and it works. Their are many kayak manufactures out their that are top notch. I chose Hobie for it's stability and for the pedal drive. You can't beat the power of the mirage drive. Plus fishing competivetly, I wanted a yak I could stand up in. Yes their are other kayaks that can do the things a Hobie can do for cheaper, but I wanted a Hobie ;D Hope this helps!
Do you have a video to make the LIVE BAITWELL I can't find it
Thanks
la beast music haha good shit
Holy cow. I'll quit bitching about having to reload five or six things into my kayak now. haha.
Haha! That's why I got the trailer.
VentureTube I'm slowly adding more and more. I bet the trailer is a life saver. Probably wouldn't work with a mom car, but I don't have nearlllly as much stuff as you do on my boat yet. Lookin good!
Could you maybe do a vid on the flag pole please
I have one on the flag. Here ya go.

Sorry I no longer make them.
Great video...just can you figure out a way of not making the video so jumpy...almost as distracting as your neighbor doin yard work. But still great job on the rigging!!!
+Frank LoGrande Thanks for watching Frank
Hi
