    I know this is an older video, but I am starting this project right now for a Halloween Costume. If you are going to use glue instead of the screws and inserts, then I believe you can just print the handle-guard-b file twice instead of the printing the A & B, that way you don 't have to fill in all of the wholes for the screws and inserts with bondo or something similar. I figure there is no harm in trying since I have to print two key blades anyway. I will provide an update when I finish printing the handles.

    Another awesome video. I love that you try new techniques and even put them side by side with a traditional approach for contrast. Valuable info for sure. Keep up the good work!

    Great video. I’m working on the Bloodhound’s fang from Elden Ring and used all of your techniques with the build. Looks great so far!

    Great video guys! I've been printing for about a month now and I'm about to tackle my first big project being the Keyblade! My biggest concerns was the after prep with sanding / prepping so this video is PERFECT! I'll post the final results after.

      @make432  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is so cool to hear - we are so glad that our video could help you out. And of course we would LOVE to see your finished project!

      @@make432 Gladly! I actually finished printing it, looks great! The blue part and the guard don't want to fit alligned correctly, but I will glue that into position when I am done. Sanding... oh boy.. It is definitely a bummer. Question however when painting and priming... did you do it one side at a time? Or did you hang it and do the entire piece? (If so, how did you hang it?)
      Plan on finishing it this weekend before moving onto your Master Sword build! (skip the resin gem :[ -- don't have supplies to make it)

    • @make432
      @make432  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is awesome! Yeah the sanding always takes forever, but it is always worth it. When we were painting we just used dowel rods inserted into the center of the parts to hold everything then just threw everything in a vice to hold it vertical while it dried. You could also hang it if you have the space.

    • @CJashua
      @CJashua 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@make432 hmm alright. Just finished the last priming. A big clumpy but I'll try to wetsand it smooth. The dowel rods .. did you glue them into the blue piece or stuffed as much into it to hold? The grip I'm assuming you used but the paints been fully dried to avoid damage? First time painting sorry

    • @make432
      @make432  ปีที่แล้ว

      We did not, this design is a little different than the cannon version - maybe we should design up a more accurate version?

    I notice that your handles are rounded at the end, whereas the original files are more hexagonal like in the first one because of less bits and more polygons. Did you edit the files to make this happen? Because I can't find a file with rounded edges anywhere.

    Graphite blade with rattle can handle would have been the perfect combo.

    If I were planning to use the gold spray paint, instead of gold leaf, would the red primer still help the gold come through richer? I am not a paint guy and know nothing.

    • @make432
      @make432  ปีที่แล้ว

      We think it does - some people don’t see the different but even with spray paint we think it makes the gold richer! It also helps to make the part just a little smoother before adding the metallic paint

    Hello, new to cosplay prop making and getting ready to work on a master sword. Do you need the glue activator or does it just help speed things along?

      @make432  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Great choice! Check out our Master Sword vid if you haven't yet for some tips. We'd love if you'd share your results!
      And no, activator is not necessary if you have some patience :)
