- Santa Maria Valley #205 was in constructed in 1924 by Baldwin Locomotive Works in Eddystone, Pennsylvania for the San Joaquin & Eastern Railroad in California. In 1933 the locomotive was sold to the Santa Maria Valley Railroad, where it moved freight cars until it was retired in May 1950 and moved to the fairgrounds in Santa Maria.
In 1983 that George Lavacot acquired #205 from the fairgrounds in Santa Maria and moved her by flatcar to his shops at the old Valley & Siletz Railroad yard in Independence, Oregon. Someone had referred to #205 as ‘just another Baldwin Pig.’ The nickname ‘Porky’ has stuck ever since.
In January 2015, after a 32-year restoration job, #205 was steamed up once again.
In November 2021 #205 made its inaugural public run on the Albany & Eastern Railroad’s Santiam Excursion Train from Lebanon, Oregon to Sweet Home and back.
In July 2023, looking to expand the Santiam Excursion Train service, #205 was brought out to pull a test train from Lebanon to Albany (Page), to Crabtree on the Mill City branch and back to Lebanon. A few of us were very fortunate to be able to ride this train.

A former Pittsburgh and Shawmut (my local railroad) SW9 in all her rightful patriotic glory, and a Northern Pacific 5 chime (my favorite whistle) singing its heart out...
This may well be my favorite video on TH-cam.
31:12 that is an awesome crossing. What makes it unique is that it has two old US&S Model 15a teardrop bells They sound like either second or third generation these bells are not seen very often, and are very rare to find on an active railroad track
AN AUTOMATIC BELL CHAIN!!!!? That's SO!! awesome!!!!. i did not see a train that has an automatic bell chain
besides at 20:25 the gauge sign says... safety valves set at 185psi
